This time Rabbit smirked at the Cheshire Cat's efforts. "Because unlike you, I can do my job, albeit a little late." And just to irritate the Cheshire Cat as he had done so many times to him, the White Rabbit playfully ruffled Ace's long white hair, to which the young man laughed, winking. Ace had always been a rope in a metaphorical game of tug-a-war with the Cheshire Cat yanking on one end and the White Rabbit pulling on the other. Ace thoroughly enjoyed the unique treatment and actually went out of his way to recieve it. Obnoxious children.

Ace laughed. "You two still haven't kissed and made up yet?" he teased, squeezing Rabbit a little tigher, earning himself a glare. "I meant metaphorically," Ace elaborated, smiling. Honestly, their bantering was absolutely endearing. He bent his head back to look at the Cheshire Cat. "I love you both equally. However, I'm hugging Rabbit right now, so if you want a hug right now, you can hug me and Rabbit."

"Rabbit and I," Murphy corrected absently, sipping his tea and wriggling his toes. "Oh, Marie. This is going to take a while. What do you and Luna think about Wonderland's version of the Wizard of Oz as a stage play?" he asked, itching to get back to the theatre - they were counting on him as the Scarecrow to put on a good show.

Luna grinned. "I'd love that! I used to love watching the Wizard of Oz with my family . . ." Luna trailed off, pondering her family for a second. What kind of family would betray their only child and her only friends to the cruelty she'd experienced at the hands of the Asylum. Her violet eyes were wide in realization and Tommy sat behind her, hugging her into him. Luna allowed herself to be comforted, twisting around so she could bury her face into Tommy's chest and cry. How could her parents do that to her? She was only a nine-year-old girl! How could her won flesh and blood leave her to be tortured so?

[Ow. Emo Luna much?]

['Scuse me? You saying I'm lousy?]

Murphy smiled. "Indeed. However, those three will keep that up until the end of Wonderland. And I've got to go act. Besides," he said, "after the play is over, we can go to the Palace and tell the King that we had to leave the White Rabbit with Ace and the Cheshire Cat. Even the King would respect that, if just for a minute. And it'll give him a much-needed break."

The White Rabbit pushed both the Cheshire Cat and Ace off of him. "And I still don't care!" He crossed his arms, snatching the golden watch out of his pocket to check the time. "It's almost eight. The King of Spades will be wondering where we are by now."

"Ok then. It does sound like fun..." Marie nodded in agreedment.

"Actually, I think it's like 8:30..." Cheshire smirked at Rabbit. "But don't worry, Murphy can take care of the Other-Siders. He actually likes Marie, how I don't know."


The king blinked when he saw Shyla in his room.
"...How did you get out of the room I had you put in?" He asked suspiciously, closing the doorm behind him.

"Actually, I think she has more in common with you." Cheshire pouted at Ace. "And there you go hugging Rabbit again. It's not fair."

"I suppose you're right about Rabbit and Cheshire." Marie gave the trio a funny look. "Well, shall we go then?"

(Someone usually saves it.)

"Tried to tell you that I was what...?" The king of Spades approched Shyla slowly, like a tiger stalking it's prey.

"That...that..." she stumbled over her words, trying to figure out how to answer. She stepped backwards again and bumped into the bed. She gasped slightly and then looked back at him. "They said you were not very kind. That you were a bad king." She was pale as she said this and her lips trembled. "But I old them that's not true. You're kind. Or...or else you wouldn't have saved me from Alec would you?"

"Why not, girly?" Fred giggled, flipping his lower body up over his head as he padded after Murphy. "It's fun!"

Luna rolled her eyes at Fred and linked her arms with Jenny and Mae and skipped in pace with Murphy. "I tried once - I fell on my face, but on the bright side, I learned how to do a back flip!" she grinned, glancing at Marie.

"Only if you want to, Marie. Although, Luna, that may be useful - not many people in Wonderland can do that. The King may just want you for entertainment," Murphy said thoughtfully. Yes, that would work. And he could tell the King that Marie could be the White Rabbit's personal assisstant. She'd be good at that, though it'd probably be very over-whelming at first . . .

The rabbit yanked away from the Cheshire Cat, eyes wide. "Keep him then!" he said, his voice high with fear.

Ace dropped down to his knees, laughing so hard he was hypervenhililating(sp?). "That's . . . so . . . damn . . . funny!" ace laughed, rolling onto his side and gasping for breath.

Recovering from his bout of disterbia, the White Rabbit glared down at the Cat, who'd been pulled down over Ace. "Oh great, now you're killing him," he snorted. Idiot.

Murphy grinned. He loved talking about acting! "The Scarecrow. He's fun," Murphy answered, wiggling his toes to get the rain off his feet.

"No one," the White Rabbit snapped, a little too quickly. "And I intend to keep it that way!" He bent over to help Ace up, the much younger man grabbing onto his arm for dear life, laughing silently now, unable to breathe enough to make a sound. [MAWWWWWWWWW! Kiss Rabbit! It'll kill Ace fer REAL! xD Rofl.]
