Jean Lacroe walked through the halls slowly. His eyes searched the walls as he went along, reading door numbers. 'There were so many. Why were there so many?' Jean couldn't think of a reason why, and didn't feel like trying too much. He was in a bit of a trance, watching the door numbers pass by. Hearing the obsessive yapping of other people. Feeling the soft caress of the wind on the back of his neck as he walked. This alone sent more thoughts rippling in his mind. 'The wind feels lovely...Isn't this a closed hallway?...Why is there wind in here?'

Jean continued to make his way through the halls until he came across what he was searching for. In front of him, a door was marked '902'. The number set off an explosion of thoughts and concerns in his mind. What would it be like inside? Is there anyone else in there yet? To put a rest to such thoughts, Jean proceeded, opening the door and walking inside.

Immediately, his eyes came across the little boy inside. He looked awfully gray in Jean's opinion, but Jean didn't feel that it would be appropriate to point such things out upon their first meeting. "Hello." He said, his voice low and smooth. "My name is Jean...I guess we're roommates." His entire demeanor seemed...off for someone as tall and in shape as he was. Jean was definitely acting like the shy type. He spoke quietly, he stayed far from the other boy, and he was polite, which was all too rare these days.

Tai took a deep breath when he heard the door open, sure it wasn't loud, but she could definitely hear it. He quickly jumped up onto his bed so he was sitting up. He looked at the guy who has just stepped in, his eyes were open wide and his face began to grow pink. He looked so much older than Tai, he had to be at least a foot taller than him! He looked at him until he introduced himself. Tai looked down at his hand which were balled up together in his lap. He quickly looked up again, the name sinking into his head.

Jean... My roommate... He thought to himself, but his thoughts were interrupted by a large gust of wind that was so strong that it pushed him off the bed. He landed on the floor next to the bed with a thud. "Stop it!" He shouted. He was surprise at how loud it was, and that made him blush even harder. He quickly stumbled to get up, and wiped off his clothes. "I...I'm Tai..." She mumbled, looking at the ground in front of Jean. "Ah.. Sorry about that..." His voice was very quiet and cracked a couple times. He would have never thought that his roommate would be this much older than he was... But he shook the thought out of his head. It would be the same either way, wouldn't it?

Jean kept his eyes fixated upon the face of his new roommate. Suddenly, he noticed a tinge of color upon it. Either the kid was doing something embarrassing before Jean walked in, or he liked Jean, or at least the way he looks. Jean spent some time just observing the boy, until the boy was blown off of his bed. Jean raised and eyebrow at the boy's awkward behavior, and let out just two snickers before the boy introduced himself as Tai.

"Nice to meet you." Jean said, walking over to his own bed and sitting down on it, still facing Tai. "And I see you're the one responsible for the pleasant breeze in the halls." he added. "Thank you." Jean felt a bit strange, speaking so much. He also had worries of getting attached to the boy, since they were having such a simple conversation so easily, which was not normal for Jean.

Tai blushed a bit more when he heard Jean snicker, he knew that he would embarrassing himself in front of his new room mate... , then as soon as he mentioned the breezes in the hallways, Tai felt a sudden weight on his shoulders... He wasn't aware that there was still wind in the halls... He was about to mutter an apology, when he was interrupted by a 'Thank you' from the other. Tai looked up at him, a surprised and embarrassed look crawled onto his face. "But... Why are you thanking me?" She muttered, looking down at his feet and sitting back down on his bed. Everyone he knew always got mad at him for controlling the wind... Why was Jean being so nice about it?

Jean shrugged nonchalantly as he thought of a response, though he already had one, but it was a common sense answer. "Because it felt good." he replied with a bit of a 'duh' attitude embedded in his voice. "But if you'd rather have me mad at you for it, I could always do that."

Jean was still even more surprised by himself. Not only was he speaking with Tai, but now he was making jokes. Even if they aren't very good ones, this wasn't at all like him, or at least not until he's known the person for a while. This was bad. Joking around and speaking casually were two golden tickets to forming good relationships. Jean knew he would have to say or do something mean, but he wasn't prepared to do it just yet. Now with how easily the two of them get along. Maybe he can enjoy a new friendship for just a little bit, but then, he had to end it...for Tai's safety.

[[lol, I'm smart. I post a big fat intro and then leave no space for anyone to RP with me. *shot* Alright, I'm going to go pick on Tai since he's all by his lonesome self and Will is... uhh... being Will. *glances at Minty* ninja domokun ]]

A few rounds later and Robby had already begun to feel detatched. Unfortunately, Robby was a sufferer of wander lust -- unfortunately because the more he wandered around, the more likely it was that people would descover and then molest him. Hardly anyone at Blackthorn Academy didn't know who Robby was -- and if they didn't know Robby Hart and Must, they were in for something quite shocking. Robby sighed and stretched slowly, his lean frame extending for several moments before he settled back down.

"I'm gonna... go," he said to his friends, shooting Cruz a mock-salute. The brunette grinned and returned the gesture, though with a good deal more cheek. None of Robby's friends had to ask anything -- they were quite accustomed to Robby's habbits.

"Don't get mauled," Tommy huffed reluctantly, a faint flush on his pale cheeks. The little blond hated worrying about people and thus always felt embarrassed when he said such "stupid" things.

"Thanks, lovey. I'll make sure to be careful," Robby replied, a light grin now on his lips. With that, Robby quickly stripped off his shirt and replaced it with a simple black shirt that had some sort of design on it in white. The important thing was that it didn't stand out in any way but still was publicly presentable just in case he was found out. He then pulled on a white knit cap -- the kind without the tassles and the ear flaps and all that other "junk." Sun glasses would be too obvious, he decided, so he left his golden-hazel eyes uncovered. A quick look in the mirror -- really, he looked quite delicious if he did say so himself (which Cruz actually vocalised it quite well) -- and he was off, ready to wander the halls.

Most people were taking the elevators. Because of this and because he prefered walking, Robby opted to take the stairs and to wander each of the hallways before hand. He didn't really want to go down to the bottom level -- there were too many people and one of them just might happen to recognize him -- and so he traveled upwards. As he reached each level, he would exit the stairwell and walk to the one across on the other side of the hallway just so that he could watch the hustle and bustle. Robby seemed to have a lot of habbits and hobbies that were unfortunate for famous people -- not only did he have wander lust, but he was a natural people watcher as well. Here, everyone was so preocupied with moving in that no one really noticed him -- after all, his trade mark hair was now hidden. But he was undeniably attractive and so he did get quite a lot of people looking his way....

Up, up, and up further, there were now far less people.... All the way up to the ninth level and it was really very deserted. But Robby decided to walk the hallway anyway, just out for the sake of continuing the trend. He had just been about to reach the second stairwell when he heard a loud thud and an exclamation of pain. The redhead paused, looking slightly nonplused and rather concerned.

"You alright?" he called out, bright eyes seeking the cause of this commotion. They found it quite easily. It was a pile of bags -- or, rather, a person whose bags had fallen on top of himself. It was quite comical, really. Robby surpressed a laugh and then walked forward, extending a hand to help the other up. "Alright there?" he repeated, a slightly impish smile on his lips. Even with his hair hidden, Robby was unmistakably gorgeous. Such fine, pale skin and incredible facial structure -- not to mention the rest of him. Robby was enough to make any girl (or any boy so inclined) swoon on the spot.

(( GAH! Omg I'm soo mean!! SORRY!! I read that post before, cuz I remember the beginning, but I don't remember the end!! SORRY!!! *Jumps off a cliff*))

Tai watched as he shrugged, And then looked down to the ground when he spoke. But as soon as he heard that Jean liked to breezes, Tai perked up and looked right into Jeans eyes. "Ah..hmm..um... It's just that... Back at home people got mad..." She looked back into his lap, his eyes were starting to water, but he tried to hold the tears back. Tai had never told anyone about his past... Why was he starting now... "Sorry..." He muttered, wiping the tears away that crept onto his cheeks. He didn't want to look back up... But he count resist, Jean's charming smile seemed to become a but puzzled. Tai looked up and him and cocked his head to the side, sort of asking what had him puzzled.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 24, 2008 9:14 am

Jean laughed a little. "I don't understand why they would be mad, it's just a nice breeze here and there. Unlike the way I would walk around magnetizing everything, and zapping people, or even conducting lightening accidentally in a storm. That was something to be mad about." he said. "So try to keep your chin up. You're one of the lucky ones."

The words from his mouth may have been meant to console the other, but they left Jean feeling depressed. Where there any lucky mutants? What kind of mutant could be considered lucky if mutants were hated so badly, and others have powers dangerous to themselves? Jean felt like he could be among the top ten most unlucky mutants still alive, since his power would take away anyone he dared to get close to. His sudden dismay began to show on his face as his eyes began to water and his eyebrows furrowed slightly.

[[Hey, elliot I'll roleplay with you. Gingerbread and Yun-Yun have been out of it for a while and Oliver is feeling a bit ignored. Gimme about twenty minutes and I'll finish his latest post. ^____^ Also, just so everyone knows, the first day of actual classes will begin soon and once that happens I won't be accepting anymore mutant characters for a while so, if you have any more you want to throw into the mix send them to me as soon as you can, okay? And just one more thing, since most people didn't include it in their profiles ( really no big deal ) I need to know which characters have been placed in a residential school and for how long. Since my NPCs' work for the IMDA, essentially making me the embodiment of the organization, I need to know some of these details, okay? Just PM them to me and any additional info you think will be helpful. Thanks and elliot I'll have that post for you shortly.]]

Oliver hid his hands deep inside of the pockets of his jeans as the door to his room closed behind him. Hazel eyes shifted from side to side as he walked down the hall. As far as he could tell the school looked exactly the same as it had last year – clean, pretty and above all, rich. It seemed the only new features were the first year students, a change or two in staff ( if he remembered right there not only was a new science Professor, but a new Headmaster as well ) and a few new security measures. Oliver hadn’t read what those new security measures were, but it was a little difficult not to notice the newly reinforced fifteen foot wall, topped with sharp black spikes that hadn’t been there last June, surrounding the grounds. However he had lost interest in the school’s Over-The-Summer newsletter shortly after skimming the article about the new Headmaster. That was the problem with having a serious lack of interest in just about everything, you get bored very easily.

He couldn’t even remember the Headmaster’s name, just the picture of the man that had accompanied the article. It was probably because the man didn’t fit the stereotypical Blackthorn Headmaster: grey-haired, shrewd expression, stern and unforgiving eyes, maybe even a hunch back or hairy ears. For as long as Oliver could remember, even when his elder siblings attended the school, the Headmasters had been at least thirty years older than the oldest member of staff. This man was the opposite. He was young and attractive with a smile that could win him the favour of anyone who crossed his path. In Oliver’s opinion, this was the type of man who was much better suited for the big screen, accompanied by the dramatic talent of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, then locked away inside the halls of an illustrious private school.

Oliver shrugged the thought off as easily as it had entered his train of thought; so what if the new Headmaster was an incredibly attractive young man? If the man thought he was the right man for the job then the sixteen-year-old had no complaints. Hell, fresh blood might even be exactly what a stuffy old school like Blackthorn needed to make things more exciting.

Of course, if Oliver only knew what kind of people Headmaster Bristol had brought with him to the Academy he might not have been so gung-ho about bringing excitement to the school year. He didn't particularly hate mutants, probably because one had never impeded on his life - to his knowledge he had never met one - but, just like the majority of people, he was a little wary of them. Not all of the horror stories were propaganda, right?

The Rolls Royce was still waiting for him in the parking lot and like most career chauffeurs his driver was waiting patiently for his return, standing beside the trunk with hands folded behind his back. Oliver nodded to the man as he approached the car, but declined his help again before he could even offer. He realized it was his job to assist the members of the Cross family in any way he could, but honestly, Oliver was more then capable to carry the last of his Academy survival boxes by himself. Unlike his older siblings, he had never gotten use all of this attention people tried to give him on a daily basis.

It was this kind of independent attitude that made him more inclined to take the stairs instead of cramming into one of the three elevators standing by in the lobby. The stairwell was incredibly white and bare; besides a few students and a disgruntled hired helper or two, Oliver saw no one on his climb. The teen spent the majority of the journey reading the reviews printed on the back of some of the books in his survival box or, when he got tired of that, counting steps as he climbed them. By the time he looked up from the floor, Oliver was standing in front of a big wooded door with a number 9 stuck to the front.

"Damnit," Oliver muttered, "Two floors too many." This was just another example of why he should learn to pay more attention to his surroundings.

Still grumbling about the extra work he had unknowing caused himself by not paying attention to what floor he was on, Oliver turned around and took a step and missed... He had a split seconds sensation of his heart jumping up into his throat before he landed hard on his a** three steps from the ninth floor landing. The surprise had caused him to lose grip on the box and he cursed darkly as he looked down at the contents which was scattered over the stairs and the landing below.

[Well, that took a little longer then I expected, but there you go Elliot. That should pick up where your previous post left off. And Mint, I feel your pain. Characters keep walking in and out of my mind, but it seems I never have paper on me when they do. I should just carry around a notepad with me for such occasions. @____@]

[[Oooo, thanks a bunch. <3]]

A small sigh left the redhead's lips. Really, all the way to the ninth floor and there hadn't been anything remotely interesting yet! Well... it wasn't as if he was expecting much. Robby pushed the set of ovular spectacles back up the bridge of his nose, bright emerald eyes glancing around the hallway for several moments before he decided to return to the stairwell and try a different level.

Robby usually chose to wear contacts, but today he was wearing spectacles in order to at least somewhat disguise himself. Come Monday, such attempts would be completely useless as his name would be on role call... but at least for now he could be someone else. Aside from the glasses, the crimson sweetheart had pulled on a dark teal beanie with some sort of white lettering or pattern on it -- it was difficult to tell because it was so small. Even with that, though, his red hair was unmistacable. The ends of soft, layered, firy locks protruded from beneath the hat and pointed, crimson eyebrows were just barely visible beneath the top of the beanie. And his face -- his face had an impecably beautiful structure and skin like a fine china doll.

But Robby didn't look like Robby -- the glasses and hat helped with that. He just looked like an incredibly attractive stranger. Long, slender fingers tugged down the edges of the cap. Confident in his "disguise," a light smile allowed itself to play across the teen's lips for several moments until, like most of Robby's smiles, it disapeared. At the same time, he had taken the neccessary steps towards the stairwell. He opened the door, bright emeralds just barely catching sight of someone orange-haired youth as he made a quite spectacular fall down several steps and onto his a**.

A slightly bemused look expression formed on the redhead's face. He paused a moment, not sure quite what to do -- he really wasn't used to this sort of situation except with his friends, at which point he would likely laugh out loud and tease whoever it was who was clumbsy enough to make such an error.

"...You alright?" he asked, stepping forward to offer his hand. Robby's voice was... well, addictive. He was and internationally famous vocalist, after all, and he hadn't gotten that far just by luck. In fact, despite the redhead's nondescript clothing and the hat he used to conceal his hair, he was obviously attractive.

Though tha majority of his hair was hidden, the small bits of color that showed were quite pleasing. Also, without hair in the way it was easy to tell just what a nice bone structure Robby had. He had a nice face -- a very, very nice face. It wasn't overly sharp or soft and it had a bit of a classic look to it. His eyes, too, were made more obvious. The bright emeralds, though covered by glasses, seemed to be magnified by the material rather than obscured by it. His frame, too, was more than pleasing. Though he had hidden it beneath a loose black T-shirt and a pair of faded, loose black jeans, it wasn't exactly difficult to tell that the rest of him was just as well-formed as his face. It was one of those cases where what was hidden made the person all the more appealing.

Tai looked to the ground, his eyes squinting, trying to see how exactly he was lucky... Sure Jean might have zapped a couple people... He wouldn't have killed them... But in Tai's mind, he was the most unlucky person, mutant, in the world. His own mother abused him because of who, or rather what, he was. "I'm not lucky..." He mumbled under his breath, his voice beginning to crack even more that before.

He looked up at the other and cocked his head to the side, memories of his mother scraping the edges of his mind. Jean looked troubled, sad even. Different reasons to this crossed Tai's mind; did his parents hate him because of it? Did he really kill people? But as soon as he witnessed the tears that slowly sprouted from his eyes, he looked in awe.

"Ehh?! What's..." He squeaked, standing up and stepping towards him. What was he doing?! It was already weird that he had been revealing his past to Jean, but now he got sad when he saw Jean depressed? "Don't.. cry..." He whimpered, biting his lip. Even though it might not as sounded so, but he was trying to support Jean. He obviously had something bad happen in his past, and they brought it up in their conversation.

Tai slowly made his way in front of Jean, and when he did, he dropped to his knees right there. "Please...Don't cry..." His silver hair fall over his pale eyes, but tears were also starting to form. The more he saw Jean, te more he understood him. They could both control elements, and they both had an extremely hard past. They were so similar... Yet so different.
