"Well now you know. It's rather very simple. Elves...we do not sleep. We do not dream. Though we can enter a state of sleep and we can dream prophetic things...it does nothing for our bodies. Being mental creatures...out mind needs to be refreshed...thus reveire...cycling through our lives as it picks and chooses...making the mind sharp again, an in transference refreshing the spirit and body." A little shrug...was he giving lessons to Arthur about being an elf? What was next...

A little shrug from Sevilin then. Yeah, feeling the void of silence forced him to do some strange things, now didn't it. He was turing into a right little attention monger wasn't he? "You're still young...plenty of time to learn who and what you are."

Arthur blinked a few times as Sevilin explained to him what the elves mind actually do to refresh themselves so they could stay sharp and their bodies can be kept refreshed. Arthur, to say at least, was completely interested in what his mind does and was actually leaning forward in his seat as Sevilin finished giving him his quick speech.

Arthur scratched his head a few times as he leaned back and sighed. "Yeah I have a long time to learn about our culture..." his voice trailed off for a moment as he tried to remember what was bugging him last night. "Well since we go through memories I've been having one that keeps on coming back, it's those damn slaves that have been bugging me ever since two weeks ago, my mind keeps on showing me when they come up and asking me to let me know that they can do anything that I ask, and they never leave me alone for awhile." He sighed lightly and his pinched the brow of his nose. "It's getting to be really annoying."

A raise of an eyebrow. Did he say 'our' culture? Perhaps they shared a 'culture' as being elves but in all reality he was a surface elf, and Sevilin was an Underdark elf...the culture was vastly different in certain aspects. Though he didn't say anything to that least he spring one of Arthur's little 'judging speeches' as he had come to call them. Sevilin didn't care for preaching of any sort.

"Nothing you can do about what your mind shows you in reverie...unfortunately. You may get the same over and over, you may have a memory once and then never again. No telling what you'll be show as your mind rests and refreshes your whole being." Another little shrug. "Who knows, maybe you're stuck in a repetative loop because you are concentrating on something do deeply before you trance into a reverie. Not uncommon sometimes." Hm...Sevilin was feeling his age...

Keely hummed to herself as she more or less skipped upstairs, as per usual and routine, breakfast tray in hand. Though again, there was something additional, which was another letter. She spent a lot of time with Meilikki these days, often reading to the woman or discussing things, learning what to woman had to offer the yound child.

Customary knock at the door, waiting a moment before she came in, and sat the tray on the bedside table and then climbed up to sit cross legged on the end of the bed. "Hey Meilikki, you got another letter today, from the same man that sent you one before."

Thus in a wholly cute manner, she cleared her throat and began to read the letter to her as was common practice as well.

Dear Meilikki:

I must say that we of Honoursfeild have been unaware of such a change, although it would explain a few...oddities. However, dear Oracle, your presence in our growing city is without condition. The alliance I speak of goes far beyond your once unique ability.

Please reconsider my offer, I and those I have councled agree that you would bring much stability to the Kingdom.

Your cousin, Roarke Blackbowman, has already agreed to take up residence in your knew home (which will proved our city with new employmeent, should you accept the offer) and has agreed to consider reopening his Academy there.

Again, please reconsider this offer of frienship.

Forever a servant of the People

King Gerard Uth'Mondar

A little blink. "He sure is persistant, ain't he?"

Keely had been a wonder for Meilikki the last few weeks. Still morning, (as she expected to be for some time) she had need the youth's innocent look on life to help pull her through. She cried less now and was often up in the mornings before Keely came with her breakfast.

She turned from the window, where she had gained a habit of staring at the fresh grave. "Perhaps he is persistant because he is sincier. He's not a very old king, if I remeber. Fifteen, maybe sixteen." She tapped her chin, trying to remeber what her gift would have brought her instantly. "Not very good at lying or manipulating."

She sat down on the bed with Keely. "Another home...it would be nice to be in one place perminantly."

A blink at Meilikki...someone ruling at that young of an age seemed strange to the child. Could someone actually do that? But letter set aside she grabbed the tray and placed it on the bed for Meilikki to have at. That odd notion or ruling so young passed as Keely kicked her feet lightly, leaning her weight back on her hands. "Well would your rather stay here or would you want to stay someplace else?"

"This place was never my home. I can't stay here. The question is if I want to get involved so...deeply with a community." She sighed as she grabbed an apple slice from the stay. "It's a tough decision, I suppose. I have the choice of being selfish or giving."
PostPosted: Tue Jul 25, 2006 11:32 am

Another blink as the questions in Keely's head started to boil once more and Keely never held back questions when it came to Meilikki. The woman would answer and do it truthfully as well. "Mama always told me that home is where the heart is." Cute musings of the child as she pulled her legs up to be sitting crosslegged on the bed. A tilt of her head. "Are people that bad to be around sometimes?" Keely was a people person, so such things seemed odd to her. "Being selfish or giving...you should do the one that makes you happy. What would you have to give?"

Kimmuriel sat in the golden chair, drinking some very watered down wine (upon his own request, as he is a cheap drunk), swinging the crown around his finger, the former king's blood sprayed about ever so often. Wearing some of the dead man's clothes and jewels, the drow elf smiled at the conclusion of his exploits. To his left stood a very obidient drow warrior, who wore a very blank expression, save for his eyes which glowed with an intense desire to serve Kimmuriel. Sitting in a chair a few dozen paces away, another rather odd looking drow sat with a rather bored expression. He was eyeing the various treasures, picking and chosing percisely which ones would be in his half of the hawl. He had his eye on the crown, simply because he liked to collect such things, especially before the Cataclysm.

"Good Dragon, do feel somewhat pleased. Our combined strength brougt down this kingdom in a few quick hours; most certainly do to the potency of your strong breath."

The polymorphed self dragon sneared, "Child's play."

"But if we had not assassinated the wizards, you would have been charred before you were pushed back."

"My magic is as mighty as the mightiest human wizard."

"They had a high elf."

The dragon hide the concern that created by snorting, "A tasty snack."

"But fattening."

Arthur paused a minute and thought over what Sevilin said with a small nod, so he may get the same memory over and over or may get it once then it would never come back. But he was concentrating on these damn slaves before he went to sleep? that’s not possible since he forgets about what they do to him everyday before he goes to sleep.

The young elf sighed deeply, something was bugging him and he knew it, deep down inside it seemed like something was nagging at him to get out but what? Maybe he has been putting of sex for far too long that it has now gotten to the point where it's bugging him when he is in reverie. That's just great like he needed that kind of trouble now, and with these damn slaves bugging him each and everyday he would have no choice but to...

Arthur blinked a few times and shifted in his seat, oh no he was not going to start thinking like that! There was no way he was going to let his sex drive to take complete control of him and make him do something he was going to regret later. Arthur sighed deeply and pinched the brow of his nose in frustration. "Thanks Sevilin for telling me all that..." he muttered and sighed again, his eyes closed tightly as he rested his head on the table. He needed some time to think things over.

Meilikki smiled. "That is indeed a simple way to put it. SImple and true. Unfortunatly it is finding out where your heart lays." She sighed, lowering her voice a bit as if talking to herself. "Does the heart die, when those you love pass? Does it break, or grow stronger? All question I might have once been able to answer."

"No one thinks quite the same as you do, Keely dear. Some are very bad. Some are very bad to be around." Again her thinking voice. "And who loves them? Are their heart dead too? Is it only the selfless acts for others that allows us to keep our hearts in the first palce? Or, are any deeds really selfless. If it makes you happy...isn't that being selfish?"

"Me? I'd be giving a city an opportunity to feed and clothe and house some of it's residence. Although they would all be working for me, the city can have a valid reason to supply their pay." She fell quiet here, her head turning to stare out the window again.

"Don't thank me yet." Watchign the elf lay his head on the table and contemplate whatever it was that was happening between those ears of his. Though Sevilin didn't particularly care what was there. It was bad enough that he had been intrigued in what he had to show.

Another innocent little blink as the child's mind tried to keep pace and comprehenf profound words that were of an adult and of one who did much thinking by themselves. "If things aren't hurt then they can't get better." Logic was where in that? "Like when you do hard work and your muscles hurt....and then they stop hurting and the next time you do the thing again, they don't hurt and you're faster at it." Oh, there it was.

A little nod. "Shouldn't be around bad people...they'll get you in trouble. But what about the bad people who change? Mistress Piper used to be really bad. And Master Malik too...they changed and they aren't very bad anymore." Life questions, how lovel.y

Picking a moment at the comforter that was on the bed. Hmm...that was a stain...she'd have to get Meilikki general new bedding...maybe some new pillows too. "Oh, so you're helping people live." Simple enough and she looked back to Meilikki to watch her watching out the window. "Why don't you ever go outside? You look out the window a lot like you want to, but you never do."

"If it's completely gone, can it still be healed?" Maybe a little too deep, but she'd see how the child's fresh perspective would respond to that. "But yes, those things that aren't hurt cannot get better."

Well...that was a slightly different circumstance wasn't it? "People who change...shift catagories. Those who are bad can become good, and visa versa."

She rubbed a shoulder, still staring. "Ever tried to find your way though the house without a candle? I used to live like that. I had a guide everywhere I went."

"In a base manner of speaking...the outside frightens me." Tears welled and spilled over. "I fear the outside so much that I cannot even visit my best friend's grave."
PostPosted: Tue Jul 25, 2006 9:25 pm

"Nothing's ever completely gone...that's what I've been told. There's always something left behind...sometimes though you can't see it...whatever that means." Intangible things, like memories or what not but her mind wouldn't wrap around that accurately enough to directly convey that message.

But she listened to Meilikki speak of categories and finding ways around in the dark with an inquisitive look as ever, watching the woman. Though that empathetic look overcame the child when Meilikki took to crying. In normal fashion, Keely drew out a cloth from the bedside table drawer. "Here."

Then she got that over exaggerated child thinking look. Then apparenly from her expression change, she got an ephiphany. "I know! I can take you outside...I'm not scared of it at all. I can protect you and be brave for the both of us...then you can go see your friend."

She accepted the cloth to whipe her eyes. Taking a deep breath and swallowing, she slipped her hand into Keely's. "Being brave isn't as easy as the hero stories make it seem. Do you have enough bravery for the both of us?" She stood up though, keeping that cloth close on hand.
