Arthur quietly set his plate down in front of himself as he felt someone looking at him, any guess that it be Sevilin watching him again as he sat down to eat. Man that guy seemed to always look at Arthur like he was the black sheep of the family so to speak and it did annoy Arthur a bit but he had to shrug it off cause if he said anything rude that dark drow could set him on fire in a blink of an eye for all he knew,

But honestly what was keeping that man from just being nice once in awhile? yes he was drow and yes he must of had a hard time while growing up but Arthur's life wasn't perfect either and he wasn't going to preach about it at all in front of Sevilin. Though the young elf wondered why the drow always had a negative out look on him, Arthur had always try to be nice towards him and talk to him in a respected manner but his efforts always failed. Oh well no one could ever get everyone to like them no matter how hard they try, and the same went for Arthur as well.

As he picked up his fork in silence Arthur only eye rolled up to look at Sevilin for a moment, his body tingling at the sense of power that was inside the man. The one thing he picked up since he came here, do not piss off those who gave off some sort of power aura. With a light grunt he went back to eating his food, not noticing how the female slaves were staring at him once in awhile.

Another look at Arthur. He was so quiet...unless he was uspet or in a tight spot, then it seemed he had plenty to say. Or if someone was doing something that could be classified as 'morally compromising', that too. But other than that he was mostly quiet.

Finishing up his breakfast, though leaving a few bits on the plate for Nym, he scooted his chair back lightly and then propped a boot on the corner of the table, crossing one ankle over the other as he more or less leaned back in his chair to digest, letting his fingers intertwine and rest palms down on his chest.

Silence...he hated silence. There were different types of silence too, some was good but this was the bad type for sure. And he couldn't stand it. Sevilin gave a sigh, searching the room and Arthur a moment with his eyes before they noticed the case on the table. Oh gods...he was going to do it wasn't he? Stupid Sevilin... "So...what's in the case?"

Arthur paused to take a breath after he swallowed his food, he needed to take things slow but he felt like there was a dozen pair of eyes just looking at him with some evil intent. A cold shiver went down his spine as he felt a familiar pair look at him again and he quickly look to see Sevilin looking over at him. Oh well Arthur didn't have much to say to the man in terms of what he was going to do today, he hasn't spoken to him for almost two weeks surely he could afford to not speak to him now.

Although as he ate his breakfast he could hear the dark elf shift in his heat, getting more comfortable as the drow already finished his breakfast. The yung elf noted the silence that fell between him and the drow and he knew what kind of silence it was, the kind of awkward silence that could only be broken by talking. With a small burp, covering his mouth of course, Arthur pushed his plate gently away from him and placed his arms crossed over one another on the table. His ears twitched to the sound of Sevilin's sigh followed by his attempt at a question. Arthur slowly turned his head over to the case and paused for a moment before grabbing the case and placing it in front of him. "Well I carry a violin in here and practice it least a few times a week, it gives me something else to do other than practice my sword skills."

"Oh...and a violin would be?" A little tilt of his head in that instinctive fashion of being curious to something. Yes he had just asked that question. After all...those kinds of things and activites didn't really exist in the place where he grew up...and if they did he was probably locked in a closet with spiders in the dark and what not when they were around. Wouldn't do well to expose little Sevilin to such things, he might start forming opinions.

Coming back from his momnetary step down memory lane, he looked to Arthur again, still waiting for an answer. He didn't ask questions much but yes he had his moments. At least he had asked instead of demanding to be told what things were. And no, he wasn't the least bit embarassed or ashamed in any sense about asking such a question either.

The young elf raised an eyebrow at Sevilin's question and tired not to laugh, this man did not know what a violin was? But then again he was a drow so he may have not seen one while growing up. Quickly Arthur hopped onto the table and sat down with his feet on the chair while his body was turned toward Sevilin so he could see him; the young elf took the case and opened it to show the violin inside, it was like any other violin ever made had a long neck which held the strings together and where the fingers moved up and down to achieve the notes wanted. The belly of the violin was sort of shaped like a woman’s body, it had curves to it, it came round from the top went inwards then came out for a round bottom.

"It's a musical instrument that is played to make...well music, watch this." Arthur reached in his case to pull out the bow as he placed the violin underneath his chin and he rested his head on the saddle. Placing the hair, which is the string attached on the bow, on the strings across the bridge; Arthur quickly placed his fingers in a certain way on the strings of the neck and ran the bow across the bridge of the violin to make a nice crisp sound. He then quickly pulled it away to make a quick sharp note then looked at Sevilin. "There you go, a note from a violin. My parents made me take it up so I can learn something that made me more...civilized I guess."

That raised eyebrow from the surface elf didn't go unnoticed and it caused a little of a frown. That was one of the reasons he didn't like to ask questions, sometimes you got looks like that. Knowledge was a privalige, that he knew. Well he was damn well entitled to it.

But he let that pass and merely watched...though a raise of an eyebrow as he got on the table...that elf was forever on top of the tables in some fashion. Though thought on that was only lasted so long as he turned crimson eyes to the case as it was open, head tilting slightly at the thing inside of it, which was then being explained to him as well.

A little blink though, feeling his ears twitch slightly at the unfamiliar sound that was produced. Perhaps there was a little flash of wonderment in his eyes over it. Hey it was something new and foreign to him. "Oh..." said in that veiled slightly intrigued manner.

Arthur ears twitched to Sevilin's reply and noticed the hint of being intrigued by what he had done. with a small smile across his face Arthur slowly got off the table and walked a little bit away so he could have some room. "I'll play just a little bit, to let you hear what it's like okay?" he waited for a moment before placing his chin back on the saddle, rasing the bow up and placing it on the string Arthur paused for a moment as his fingers shifted on the neck before he began to play.

The young elf started off with a nice melody, it had a nice flow to it and the notes were almost the same, the tempo was slowly and smooth so it could be easily absorbed by the listener and since Sevilin was hearing this for the first time it wouldn't be best to play a high pitch tune with quick speed. The music started to slowly change from nice low soft notes to higher ones, all the while Arthur's fingers were dancing across the neck moving in spot to create a nice ring to each note he played, and when he reached those high notes he really let it out. His body swayed to the music as the tempo picked up a little to accompany the high notes, this went on for a few minutes as he had reach the main part of the song. Then slowly he eased himself back into the tempo he started off in the beginning with the same notes as before, his body slowing down before he finally ended with a extended note to roll it all together. The song he played sounded like it was made for someone would had went on some form of adventure, met a lot of people and lost those he had care for while on his quest.

Arthur slowly lifted his head away from the violin and smiled at Sevilin as he walked back to the table. "What do ya think?" he asked with a small smile.

((Bascially Arthur is playing a slow Irish song XD))

Uh oh, he had provoked something apparently in the little surface elf. Thus Sevilin watched him as he moved off the table and then a bit away, apparently giving himself some room as he raised his little wooden and string instrument and proposed a demonstration for Sevilin's behalf. Oh well that was interesting.

Ears twitched again as the unfamiliar sounds were again reprocuded and then turned into a melody and tune of sorts, sound being made by the contact of one set of strings to another as well as finger placement on those strings as well. Interesting. Though the melody wasn't what he expected of a surface elf...sounded a bit...rough river in a sense. Meaning that it didn't exactly have that elvish flowing feel that elven music produded. Three conclusions; one the song wasn't elvish, two the instrument wasn't of elvish make, or three, both.

Though he still listened, watching as well as Arthur played. A little barely done tilt of his head and a blink at Arthur as he apparently ended his little demonstration. And then asked for an opinion to which Sevilin gave an incline of his head in a nod as Arthur came back to the table. "Soothing, I would say, in a certain manner."

Arthur smiled a little bit, hey a compliment is a compliment it's best to take it when someone gives it to you. Quietly Arthur placed the violin and the bow back in it's cause and closed it then placed it off to the side next to his katana. "Thanks that's nice to hear but if you haven't already notice the song is of course human." Well it's not like Arthur choose to play a human song, those were the only kinds of songs that he could learn while at home; but it didn't matter at all maybe one day he will learn some elvish songs if he happened to meet one who knows how to play.

Covering his mouth to hide a yawn Arthur sat back in his chair and looked at the drow with a tiny smile. "So what are you up to today?" he asked, well he might as make small talk with the man since if he tired it with anyone else it would wind up towards the topic of wondering what they could do for him.

"Oh...well that explains things now doesn't it. Lacked that certain elvish quality that my ears are used to hearing." But he just sat there, ankles propped on the table corner and leaned back in his chair. One could almost thing that he was relaxed...who knew if he realy was though except for Sevilin and he wasn't saying anything.

And there came the idle conversation and Sevilin was presented with a choice. He could either engage...or suffer horrible silence that he couldn't stand and would eventually drive him insane...well, more insane than he was cognitively aware of. Tough choice indeed.

"I hadn't particularly planned anything. Maybe do some physical training...or go on a ramble. Or clean." Yes, clean...despite haveing slaves around to do just that. Sevilin actually liked to clean...though when he did it was in an obessive compulsive perfectionism way. "One would say I'm not a very exciting elf...but that's how it is."

Arthur was kind of upset of the way Sevilin critiqued the song he played but he let it passed, as someone use to say 'When you've seen, heard, or tasted something made by elves you can never go back.' Arthur yawned again, this time stretching his arms out in front of him and resting his head sideways on top of them so he was looking at the drow with his good eye, the other was covered by his arm.

Arthur quietly listened to the man speak of what he might be doing today and his last option made Arthur raise his eyebrow just a little. "Clean? you clean? huh you do not look like the type who cleans, no offence really." Wow some things never cease to amaze Arthur and Sevilin cleaning? that was a surprise, the guy looks like he could rip someone's head off with his bare hands and he cleans? Oh well everyone has their little things that make them different.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 24, 2006 12:44 pm

A little bob of his head that could pass for a nod. "Yes, I clean...I have a think about mess and being clean and what not. Old, old habit of mine. " Yes indeed...in fact one would notice Sevilin's apperance, like most elves, was immaculate...but more so. Not a wrinkle to clothing or a hair out of place, metals and leathers never dull. Any space he was in was always the same way. In fact, looking at his plate on the table, his silverware was sitting at almost just the perfect way on the plate.

He shrugged lightly. "You never pegged me for cleaning and I never thought you had a cultured bone in your little body...no offense of course." Said with a smirk though. Mean it or not, who knew but Sevilin. He watched Arthur again a moment in his motions that were unfamiliar almost. Mimicked almost. "Why do you keep yawning as if you are tired?" Intrigued by the oddity of the boy. Surely he hadn't widdled down his endurance enough to make him physically tired...and well elves just didn't get 'tired' in the general sense really. Didn't sleep after all...so tired was really more of weary.

Arthur blinked a few times and shrugged just a little as he decided to sit up straight in his chair again, his arms were going numb form his head resting on them for a bit and he doesn't like it when his arms get numb. "Wow that's one old habit you got there Sevilin, to each their own I guess." Arthur said with a light grin as he placed his hands in his pockets.

The young elf rolled his eye just a little bit at Sevilin comment and shook his head in amusement. "None taken really." Arthur chuckled a little, a comment like that from Sevilin was to be expected so he didn't mind it at all. Arthur shrugged at Sevilin's comment to why he yawned so much. "Well for awhile now I have been having a hard time when it comes to revering and I keep on waking up at night, so the only way I can go back to revering is if I do something to get me tired so I work out in my room. So that's why I yawn I'm a bit exhausted..." Arthur paused as he looked towards Sevilin wondering if the man would bug him for this.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 24, 2006 1:15 pm

"I'm almost five hundered years old...I have a lot of them, and to be expected. If you ever live this long, then I'm sure you'll have a few on your own...or rather more than you do now." Then again...he'd been raised by humans and Sevilin assumed acting like them for however long he had been alive. Looked about Zahara's age actually.

Thus his mind wandered a little at the name. The only other living thing that he held conversation like this with, besides Nym of course, was Zahara. Though he brought his attention back to Arthur when the surface elf started to give answers to questions.

A raise of an eyebrow...how could an elf do that? It took extreme effort to wear down general elven endurance seemed Arthur's lacked some. Though in a way that made sense. But he spoke of reverie like an elf who hadn't reached thier century mark yet and couldn't control it. Made his mind boggle a little. "You know...it'd work better for you if you mentally exhausted yourself instead of trying to physically do so. We're mental creatures...us elves." By the Gods, was that advice?

Arthur blinked a few times, Sevilin is about five hundred years old? oh what joy it is to be hearing that, there be no way in this plane of existence that Arthur could beat this guy if he was to challenge him to a duel. With a small sigh he shifted in his seat a little to get comfortable. "Well give me a few hundred years and I'll pick up a few good ones." he said with a light chuckle.

Arthur blinked a little bit, they mentally exhaust themselves? Huh he was never told to do that before. "Well It only happens to me maybe twice a night and yeah the endurance we elves have is alot...I was just never told about that." The young elf shrugged a little bit as he looked at the drow. "Lack of elven knowledge I guess..." he sighed a little, yup this conversation seemed to be going in a good direction.
