My marimo broke apart long ago and I decided to give it a complete health treatment this month. I've cleaned it up, changed the window it sits by, changed the vase shape, added a bubbler to constantly at least 6 hours of currant, and after one week its already looking prettied up! Its even floating again.
Collected plenty of the loose fibers with a chopstick, picked and threw away the nasty matted pieces and decided to put it in a different vase with another old bubbler, I've decided not to manually roll this one, seeing every time I roll it, the ball dies. so I'll let the bubbler do the rolling for me. biggrin Hopefully, soon it will roll into its own loose ball to grow in.

@Pirhan: The storm (on the 21st) wasn't as bad as it was expected to be here. I did see a funnel cloud on my way home from taking my mom to work, though. It was off in the distance, not well formed, and dissipating fast so it wasn't a danger. It did make the news, apparently, since when I got over to the mall where my friend works she was telling me that a funnel cloud had been spotted in the area where I saw it. Luckily, it never touched down. (I have been using the weather as an excuse to go to the mall for my shopping- they have a Target- so I can hang out with my friend and also park my car in the parking garage to avoid hail damage.) Today I saw some pictures of what it looked like in Dallas yesterday. I am very happy that I was not there. ( Pictures.) I have also gotten into digital scrapbooking and spent a good part of my day doing that.

I got back from a Geological Society of America conference yesterday. The conference was in Asheville, NC and I got to present my research at it. I really enjoyed my time at the conference.

I bought the pattern+fabric+etc for my fiance's wedding vest today. It took forever and I had to do strange guesstimating math based on iffy guesses and ended up just getting much more fabric than I will need. Better than too little, for sure.

1> Tackled the Happili redirect virus on my laptop with the help of some folks at techguy.org. They're swell.
2>Had an unwanted guest in my dreams and punched them....aka punched my headboard, woke up with a bleeding knuckle. Ow.
3>Mindlessly watched my marimo bob up and down with my bubbler.
4> Wondered how I could recycle the water that I collected from my CN plant terrarium. cup in a jar collect evaporated water didn't work its not sunny enough.
5> Wondered just how much more of a mess I can make of my window sill if I were try to propagate more sundews. biggrin
6>Apparently its rare for people to withdraw money while depositing a check these days. :/ the banker teller always gets it wrong with me.

Sowed some seeds with my boyfriend for the first time to begin our garden. We're both very excited. Hopefully we're not too late; Spring came awfully early this year, which makes me think it'll probably be a particularly harsh summer. Hope this all works out.

Hi everyone! I dunno if any of the regs I used to know still come here, but I thought I'd pop in and let everyone know I haven't died and I didn't forget about you xp
I did move back to Texas from Arizona, and am working on getting set up and in an apartment with a job, so I probably won't be popping back in very often for a while. I do have a lovely container garden started though, which I'll post pictures of if I ever get them on my computer.
Today I...stayed up until 6am because I finally got access to the Interwebz. stressed Silly me. Goodnight! heart

Learning to wire up what i thought was a simple circuit turns out to be a more challenging endeavor than anticipated.
Turns out when you buy industrial electrical motors they don't come with a wire or plug or anything...or a switch. So i bought a 25 foot heavy duty extension cord and i'm wiring an on off switch in the middle of the circuit so i can turn it off right at my work bench instead of having to walk across the garage and unplug it every time i take a break or inspect something. But my google fuu is weak today and i can't seem to figure it out.
Scouring do it your self books at the moment trying to make sense of it.

Been around, just busy. New job (whee!) and friend over who goes to bed at nine (boo) which means we have to too. (As she is currently bunking on the couch.)
Watching far too much My Little Pony. Also actually going to start collecting ponies. I WANT THEM ALL.

Went to do some gardening until I hit ROCK HARD SOIL!! gonk
Froebel spirea or what I call the "monsterous butterfly bush my dad planted", its roots have completely bounded in the small corner of the bed, I can't even get a shovel in!
There are some beautiful daffodils i would like to salvage from that spot and there's a white peony plant that I wanted to divide but with such a monster, I don't know a good way of cutting through that hard spot!!!
Anyone have any suggestions?
Its also right up against the house so nothing too harsh.

Waiting patiently for my pre-started tomato+pepper seeds to dooo something!
They're cute in their little eggs. I had some expired eggs a while back because my grandparents went out of town and left me their almost-expired eggs which I didn't really want, and broke them so that almost none of the shell is gone, just the tip-top. Rinsed em out, left them for a week or so to dry up, then put in dirt and seeds.
My throw-em-in and see-what-happens peas+beans at the community garden plot have done nothing at all, mainly because the water isn't on yet and there hasn't been a single day of rain in 2 weeks. I am going in tomorrow for a meeting (I took on the Garden Rep position, which is silly because I don't know what I am doing, but nobody else was willing to do it) so I can check on the water situation then. Maybe I will bring a little bottle of tap water with me to sprinkle on the side I planted. Seems a bit ridiculous, but I want my peas wink
I have to start a catnip soon, but my indoor dirt seems to not like the situation it is in, the other things I have planted almost all molded with bagged dirt!
My miniature rose is being a jerk still and refusing to let me keep it small. The most voracious one will go in the ground as soon as I can negotiate a spot for it with my landlord. The trimmings still won't grow any roots, and the smallest one won't do anything at all.
One of my online games is switching to a different kind of experience points very soon, so I have been acting like a crazy person leveling up in one day when it takes most people at that level a week. I've been on it ALL day. I hate it a bit right now, but I will hate it more if there is an achievement for getting to max level before the change and I don't get it!
