What? "Sure! Uh. Hold on." He sets his now-empty cup down on the floor, and goes digging in a little pile of blueprints that are in one corner. They're all rolled up and you can't tell the difference between one and the next. "And then there are some on the walls, up there--" his best ones, which are just designs for a personal ship.

Sin looks at the ones on the walls. "Which is your favorite?"

Eric stops and looks the ones hanging up carefully. "That one," he points to the one that's, appropriately, hanging over his couch. It's a two-seater with a little sleeping area and makeshift (and boy do I mean MAKESHIFT) kitchen in the back, two rockets to propel it forward, some to propel it upwards, and a cute little pair of economical wings. It's the VW Bug of personal ships.

"Well, it--because it's--the most plausible. To build, finance-wise."

Damn, why's he asking? "Uh--just. You know. The typical. Lazers. Small ones, I can't afford too much. Two over here--" he points to the wings, each end, "--and one up here, one down here--" top and bottom, "and that's all I've thought of so far. I'm not really an arms expert."

"I like to put in at least ten, spread out and with overlapping coverage." He circles the drawing with a finger. "Prevents smaller crafts from sneaking into a blind spot while you're not looking."

"That's okay, though, since he's your bodyguard. Right?"

Well, that would work since he was planning on putting on some webcams for makeshift surveillance units. Yes, Eric's first ship is going to be a hunk of junk. TV screens for computer monitors, all welded together and a bunch of motherboards with unlabeled buttons on them for a cockpit. What fun! "Ah! I see what you're saying."

"Bodyguard." She wrinkles her nose. "I don't need a damn bodyguard."
---
"And if you're going to use it for anything other than being a target you'll need a variety. Short range, long range, bursts, sprays..." Sin's eyes begin to light up as he imagines the possibilities."
