Forgotten Realms RA Salvatore.
He is the Hero of Icewind Dale, and a few areas along the Sword Coast.
Little magic used in the stories.

Well, you can try to pick the lock if you want, just don't be mad at me when you shoot yourself in the foot with one of those things.

Yeah, gun traps are a b***h, but if I use a tool that isn't a piece of hair, perhaps you will find that this thief's sticky fingers are also nimble.

actually Dalamar killed her, shot a lightning bolt through her chest and then Lord Soth showed up and took her away, assuming to 'share his throne' as he told her earlier.

No need to go through such a time-consuming process just to understand a little chatting in the OOC thread... stare
Dragonlance is an interesting read, but there are better books to read on your spare time, IMO. Most fantasy books these days are anywhere from so-so to cliche, regurgitated drivel. Only a very, very few are worth the time of a busy and ambitious person.

I only like 3 characters in the Dragonlance series. Raist, Sturm, and Flint.

I agree.

Theres a series Ive found that I'm really in to right now, but its a rather large series, i think the current count is ten books, and counting.

Its called the Wheel of Time, authoured by Rbert Jordan.

I find its actually a rater captivating read, after you get in to it.

the first three chapters of the first book were hard, but im finding it hard to put them down now.

As earlier stated, Drizzt fan. Don't touch Fantasy too much outside of that, pretty much for Sir's reasons.

My sister (who introduced me to most of the fantasy that I know) was into the Wheel of Time series. I guess she thought that it was interesting at first, but her interest sort of died with time...that's a huge series, you know, and it's only worth reading all that if it's danged good, IMO.

A little fiction is good here and there, but I want to be more of a culture/history buff. So far, I only have Mexico and Japan covered (which is easy though, since, IMO, they're some of the most interesting places in the world, worthy of my studies).
Perhaps I should check out this Drizzt business...

I equall out my reading time with novles, with the history books.

I'm back and fatter that ever, now I don't mean to introdunt on others conversiovasions but I have never been the biggest fan of fantasy novels, the thing that captured my imaganiation was horror more specifacally horrow containing vampires, read most of the Anne Rice series bu found that she is not one of the better vampire fiction writer's out there, there is a group of three books, "Convenant with the vampire, children of the vampire and lord of the vampires" by Jeanne Kalogrids that I think is great read, she expands well on the Dracula mythos that was fist created by Bram Stroker, analying the events which led up to the fabled events in the novel and those which occur right after, not through the eyes of the original characters but from the eyes of the family dracul, the still human descendants of the impaler. I think that it stays true to the original motif of the Bram Stoker world and adds a completely different level to the mythos that I think Bram Stoker failed to explore and even left open for other authors to explore because of the mysterious way in which Dracula is killed in Bram Stoker's novel, not with the wooden stake but a bowie which begs the question did Dracula survive the attack since he was killed in the matter befitting vampire by Stoker's rules. I most definately reccommened that you pick it up.
