She hadn't even moved when Arthur stumbled toward her, no she was still sitting there, hands gripped to her arm rests and watching the chaos unfold in the dinning room...why was it always the dinning room? But no matter to that, she was lost in emotional and mental turmoil at the moment, we could worry about the dinning room later. And then another pang of it all as he looked to her again in accusing manner. Guilty by association...even if Malik took all the blame and acted as if he had done it all by himself. Though her attention was slightly drawn to Malik as feelings across thier bond were poking at her own end of thier connection. Promises long ago made when wanderlust was still fresh and pains told to one another under moments where they were forced to the surface. He had promised to protect her always, and never let another surface elf do anything to her. Not any of them, not Kaden, and not even Arthur who wasn't even laying a hand on her.

Arthur knew that his fireball wouldn't work as he hoped it would, nope there goes Malik stepping aside like it was nothing. The guy must think that he looks like a fool and Arthur doesn't blame him. The man is way out fo his league but he used Zahara just like that, so getting beaten up by him held some merit. So there he was, flying at Malik with his sword raised in the air, man he must look like an idiot. Swordsmanship 101 'Don't jump off a table with your sword high in the air, it wont work as you think it does.' But it's not like he could fight him head on, oh well. But right now he had a nice decision to make, either get sliced by Malik's blade or dodge and get hit by a spell he does not know about. Take the blade, or get hit by an unknown spell. Damn it, it has to be the blade. So Arthur braced himself and felt the blade cut his s**t and hit his skin. He grunted in pain as the blade went up his chest, he could feel the blood pouring out. When it finished it's journey across his skin the young elf fell to the ground and rolled underneath the table. God damn it... he grunted a little as he pressed his free hand against the wound. With a grunt he pulled his hand away to launch a fireball at Malik's feet and rolled out on the opposite side of the table and quickly got on his feet and gripped his sword in both hands as his body was trying to get over the pain. His blood dripping onto the floor at a good rate.

Boy had balls, he'd give him that. a bit of a 'hmm, didn't think you'd do that' look, before noting the fire at his feet, those were a good pair of boots. sone of a b***h...and hsi eyes snapped back up, and the sword blade went up, held in his left hand, and then hopped over to his right. the energy switching sides. a harm touch was kinda useless if you coudln't touch with it.
And of course, Malik was right handed, which ment he was deadlier with this arrangement. if only Arthur knew how easy it was on him that Malik wasn't weilding Malvolence instead of Ebony..and back on the offensive. his rush forward the blade making a sweeping upward arc from facing the ground..and he stopped midstep, widening his stance and bringign the blade horizontal and swing it in a cutting motion back toward himself, the intent quite obvious, though still fast enough not to matter with Arhtur on the telegraphing too much.
the intent of course was to hit the katana blade on the side, forcing it forward with the slice and effectively slicing across the face or neck bypassing any defense all together. the defensive measure made it more dangerous to defend yourself. as it was to turn so the edges were clashing again, thus keeping your defense..but it woudl put you dangerously close to that glowing left hand. at least that was the common defense to that move.

Arthur braced himself, it seemed though that even with the flames at his feet that wouldn't stop Malik for a bit. That shouldn't be that big of a surprise but still Arthur stood in defense mode as he watched Malik bring his blade in a upward arc, but only to stop and make it go horizontal. Well duh the thing floats so its easier to move it like that! He had very little time to react so he did the only thing he could do the defend himself, he fell backwards. Well he didn't fall straight down onto the ground, he spread his legs wide open and fell backwards, using one free hand to brace himself so he didn't hit his head on the way down. But that left his arm that held his sword, which he placed it across his chest letting Malik's blade graze over it and leave a nice new flesh wound. Cursing softly Arthur bent his arm and pushed himself back up, as he did he lit his free hand with a fire ball and with the motion shot it right at Malik's stomach. Then while he was still pitched forward Arthur switched his blade to his right hand and charged Malik, his blade brought back to do a hard stab motion when he got in close enough.

Another hit, more blood from Arthur. but nice move. flexible little bugger. but the jump up, flames hitting his shirt. oh good, just keep pissing him off by burning his clothes. nice slight burns on his chest now, and the shirt was just ripped off, exposing a hard body of trained for centuries. but it served another purpose. when that thrusted came, the remains of the shirt wrapped around the hilt,. letting hte blade graze and leave a bloody path along his side, and watch it get jerked out of his hand, not to mention forward momentum was going to bring him a great deal of pain when that glowing hand drove froward, his right hold his blade back and a bit distance ready to strike if he tried to get away backward.
The palm thrust of his left hand was aim for that open cut on his chest, and if it landed..it was going to feel like he was being torn apart by barbed fishhooks from every direction while taking a vingear and salt bath...not to mention the simple force of impact should send him sprawling on his back.

Arthur smiled a little, the fire ball was just perfect to burn Malik's shirt and leave it wide open to let him push his blade on through. Even though he was a bit taken back of how well trained Malik's body was he kept on going hoping he could cut the man before he was defeated. But as he pushed his arm forward he saw Malik's shirt get wrapped around the hilt of his blade. God damn it no! even though he saw his blade graze Malik's skin that meant his sword was jerked away from him leaving him wide open for the drow's other attack. Arthur eyes widen when he saw Malik thrust his hand towards his chest. Damn it! gotta think fast if that hits my wound... the young elf quickly weighed his options, either A) get hit full in the chest by this unknown attack and let it take its course; B) try and fall back which might get him attacked by Malik's blade and hand. But there was another option and he hand no choice but to take it. As he was moving forwards Arthur pitched his body so that made Malik's hand touch his left shoulder instead of his chest. The end result was Arthur screaming in pain as he laid a few feet away from Malik since the force of the blow sent him flying back.

Malik smirked lightly, resting his sword on his shoulder, and walking over, putting his foot on arhtur's chest lightly, avoiding the injury, andhis hand glowed a bit green, and the magic flowwed between them, a slice opening on Arthur's side, the one on his own healing. gotta love necromantic life tapping. not that he'd feel that after a harm touch till sometime later. then he walked over, picking up the katana blade, and carreid it back, taking Arthur's sheath off him and putting the blade back in it, setting it on the table before resheathing his own. At least he'd had the sense to lessen the damage as best he could, and good at quick adaptation, but his skills were sorely lacking compared to Malik. and Malik wasn't the best. he'd be first to admit that.
"Are you alright Piper?"

Arthur's scream had been the beginnings of a snap back for Piper, who blinked a couple of times. And though she had been watching the whole thing, she was just now seeing the happenings of it. Or rather the ending to the little bout between them. Triple colored eyes took a moment to survey in half dazed state. Arthur wasn't having a fun time and Malik had a show of his own...and was oddly enough missing his shirt. But the smell of smoke and Arthur's affinity for fire magics connected that in her mind easily enough. Though she jumped a little as Malik addressed her, the calling of her name drawing her attention to which she looked to him them and took a moment more to process his question. A shake of her head and a tug at her collar, her hand swiping across her hair to make sure it was covering what it needed to, was his answer on that question. No, she didn't think she was okay.

Arthur couldn't help it, the pain was so intense he had to scream, oh God did it ever hurt him. He was thanking himself right now that he never got it in the chest. Oh god someone get the clerics for crying out loud! Arthur let out a moan of pain as he started to bunch up into a ball, but the wound on his chest and the new wound Malik gave him through his own speical magic. "You...b*****d..." he coughed out before he had to moan in pain again as he shifted on the floor then everything went slient from him, the pain was too much and he passed out.

Malik looked at the unconsious Arthur, and motioned to the slaves.
"Take that to it's room. and put that blade on the dresser or something."
Before they dragged him off, and he sat by Piper.
"Is there anything I can do to help you? I know what bothers you, and you know I would destroy those that look on you like that the smae as I beat that little human raised boy just now. I won't have you treated like that ever again. I don't care if I have to take on all of Andal..hell, I bet it would be the only time you would see myself, and Cymarron fighting on the same side as allies."
He took her hands in his, and held them, pressing them up agasint his chest lightly.
"you can feel my heart beat. and it beats for you. Tell me how to make you feel better, and I'll see that it's done."

It was a divine cosmic joke she thought. Thirty two years of going through this, then twenty years where it had all seemed to go away and get better, and she had dared to think that it would forever be better. And in a split second, it had all been brought back, one look from another that could be called her kin and it all broke. Though her attention pulled from her own thoughts at the familiar sound of Malik's voice, comforting in it's familiarity to her. Yes he knew what bothered her and she knew he would do what he said, he always had when it came to her. A look to her hands as they were held to his chest and he spoke of what she did indeed feel. "I don't know...nothing?" That seemed to be the answer, after all if it came back after all this time, it wasn't likely to go away. Though she knew she could find her own comfort in him, despite it all. Malik never looked at her that way...once upon a time, Malik had fixed the very problem with a parlor trick. Piper took on of those shuddering breaths, attempting to get herself back together before she slipped herself into Malik's, pulling her hands from his own and lacing them around his neck, resting her head against his chest, ear placed to his flesh to hear that hearbeat as well. She couldn't believe it...after all this time, those damn lopsided ears of hers and the disapproval that could come with them still got her. "A'mael..."

"I know."
He held her, and ran his hand through her hair, kissing the top of her head lightly.
"I still have that mask, if you wanted to wear it again, to make your ears look like you want them too."
He kept his hand running through her hair, and just held her. It was really all he could do at the moment.
"I would bring death and war to all of Andal for someone looking at you like that, or holding you in contempt for what you had to do to survive."

Piper considered herself more at her own self than anything else at the moment. It was so stupid...wasn't it? Able to be thrown into a horrible state of being over lopsided ears. Sure, she knew that wasn't the reason he had looked at her like that, but she it was the the same look she had gotten before on the subject. Association at it's best. Once more she entertained the idea of cropping the other and leveling off her ears. Of course that was always her angry rational thought on the matter, and Malik's was of course a lot better. She really thought she had come farther than this...but it was proven to her that once again, time means nothing to those of elvish blood and memories along with the things that went with them were never gone. The a horrible ping of realization overtook her and she pushed away from Malik, standing up and putting her back to him, taking a moment to try and compose herself, a hand smoothing at invisible wrinkles in her dress to try and further the 'okay' notion. Malik had never seen her do that...more or less freeze from a look of that sorts from a surface elf and let it get to her so deeply. He had only seen it in communion, but never first hand...and she didn't like him seeing that crippling weakness of sorts about her."I-I'm fine...really I am..." Big fat lie, and he probably knew that but she would say it anyway, wouldn't she. "I can handle it." Of course the slight waver in her voice wasn't helping to foster a 'I'm perfectly fine about it all' mood. Piper didn't think she could do this...then again, a little object could give her her ears back, even if only a short time. But something seemed so wrong about that...wrong for her ears to be even at the long length. Thus she was standing there, pondering with her back to Malik and trying to keep herself together at the moment, one hand at her color and the other under her hair touching to her halfed ear, as it usually did when she thought about it or it was mentioned. Well that was puzzling now wasn't it? Piper without lopsided ears...didn't seem...right...

Quickly the slaves that were summoned to take Arthur's body away did what they were asked to do and in a minute his body and sword were gone from sight. About a few minutes later he was placed slowly on his bed while his katana was placed on his dresser, and one of the servants went off to get a cleric. About ten minutes later Arthur wounds were bandaged since they were rushed and he was asleep on his bed peacefully. But not for long. After the last person left Arthur's only eye opened up to stare at the ceiling. What the hell has happened? he wondered and a brief rush of dull pain shrugged from his shoulder bringing back everything that has happened. Damn Malik... he sighed lightly as he slowly sat up in his bed. He lightly groan as he placed his hand over his chest, god damn Malik he was too good for him, he was luckily to get away with what he got. Knowing that it's going to be a b***h to walk around he slowly swung his legs over his bed and stood up, at least the clerics had at least kept his pants on. Slowly he walked over to his closet and took out another shirt, and being really careful of his wounds he slowly placed his right arm through a sleeve and kept the other underneath his shirt, he did the same thing with his vest before heading out of his room without his weapon. Where's Zahara?

"You are who you are, Piper Silverfeather. the things that made you the woman you are, the elven beauty that I love, are treasures. your ear is one of them. you learned more about life and survival in those few minutes than most learn in decades. it made you a stronger woman."
Malik lifted himself to his feet, and gently rested his hands on her shoulders.
"not only stronger, but willing to go the distance, to perservere when others stop trying or fail. I would not trade a thousand of elves with the looks of Fianna, for my one lopeared Piper."
And just to prove the point, he leaned over and gave her little lopsided ear a kiss.
"And those that think them better..those that would look down on you..just remember that they know nothing. they are fools and cowards, that if faced with what you were, would now be fertilizing a forest floor after being eaten by an ogre. Though I think Kieran and Fianna woudl probably enjoy that image involving a certain sea elf."
