David appeared in the rafters and droped down behind Ziven. He reached out and gently touched her sholder. "It appears that something is troubling you, care to talk about it?"

She hardly moved, the most noticeable difference was a small smile crossing her lips, her eyes softening. "I am weary, friend. That is all. How might you be?" she said softly. It was truth but not the entire truth. As usual, she attempted to move the conversation along, taking the focus from her to other things, anything but herself.

"You might say that something is troubling me." David hung his head, hoping his ploy would work.

Gently she placed her hand on his that was resting on her shoulder. Slowly turning, she looked up to him with concern and empathy. "What is troubling you?"

"You, you're what's troubling me. I can't help but wonder what could have happened to you that would make you feel the need to hide something from your friend."

Lowering her gaze, she felt ashamed and very upset with herself for worrying David. Gently her dress and scarf began to flow with greater movement, clearly a reaction to her emotions. "My apologies." she said softly, giving his hand a soft squeeze as her hand still rested on his on her shoulder. "I am .. lost. I cannot seem to help those I care for as well as I would like to. For this reason, I feel I have let those I care about down .. believe they would be fine without me in their lives if I were to leave." she said softly. This was clearly not intended to be any sort of message to David, simply expressing her thoughts as he requested.

David turned his hand around and gripped hers back. "That is not true, many people would miss you. You have helped so many, myself included. How could you think that we don't need you?"

"No one needs me." she said firmly, bitterly, but not unkind. To her, it was simply fact. She would not believe anything differently. Sure, people enjoyed spending some time with her, that was a conscious decision, not a need.

David, acting more on reaction then thought, hugged Ziven. "That is not true."

She hardly seemed to react at first. Soon her hands finally moved, embracing him also. Apparently, in this moment, he felt the need to hold her and she would oblige such in return. "Worry not, this has always been a truth in my life. I help when I can, despite my efforts generally not being required." she said softly, resting the side of her head against his chest. "If ever you require assistance, I will be there for you, just as I would for any friend. Remember that always."

He dismounted in front of the large doors at the front entrance of the guild. Taking his stringer of hooked heads he stuck it to the front, driving a metal spike through it so they hung there. His first grim project of many...

"Though it was in part my fault you were in such condition ... it would be irresponsible not to." she said softly. Though finally emotion shown through - her voice wavered and her grip around him tightened, clinging to him for comfort and apology. In her mind, there was nothing she could do that would merit forgiveness for that day.

"Ziven, it wasn't your fault..." In response to her clinging, David held her close, wanting to give her as much comfort as possible.

Inhaling sharply, she released him, stepping away. She looked to him with a sad smile. "I should go, I am certain you have better things to spend your time on." she said softly, bobbing her head respectfully, keeping her head lowered as she finished. Though she could leave, she decided to remain to see how he would reply.
