note - DEP is the devil. it kicks your a**. it hands it back to you halfway and then kicks it again.
we ran to the basketball courts. we split into 3/4 teams and played basketball. the losing team went to the side with one other team and did PT. the winning team played another game with the next team. and around it went. and around. and around. and around.
i didn't throw up, but i bled.
then we had formations. apparently, i know little to nothing about formations and marching.
we then chose our next CO and XO. who marched us and got us in formations.
we then marched back to the office. where we had to do push ups whenever a recruit didn't quarter correctly. i messed up and said "sir". we did reverse push ups for that.
be afraid. be very afraid.

does it make me sick and twisted that i can't wait for next week? 4laugh

Illiezeulette ...are you in the military? what is the DEP? Delayed Entry Program - i have taken my oath for the Navy, and i ship out September 22. pretty much, in DEP, they treat it like beginner boot camp...for 2 hours! for us, we have meetings every Thursday and the first Saturday of the month. the Thursdays are for us, and the Saturdays are either local recruits from other branches or other cities. it was interesting. EDIT - i should explain further. DEP happens when you sign your contract for the military, whatever branch, and you don't ship out for a bit. what with the economy and so many people actually signing up, not only have standards gotten stricter, but jobs are becoming more scarce. they are signing people up that won't ship for a year. i'm lucky in that i qualified for a job that seems to be in high demand and so had a very good selection for times that i could ship. if i had felt comfortable, i would have shipped next month, which is nearly unheard of right now.

I'm getting annoying headaches that are light, sound and movement sensitive. confused They feel like dehydration headaches, but don't improve after 3 pints of water.

Ainwyn Calixti Illiezeulette i've been doing nothing lately except watching buffy and angel. i must admit i'm a bit hooked.
heart heart heart heart heart heart I've seen all of Buffy three times, seasons one, five, and six four times, and certain episodes more times than I can count. Seen all of Angel twice, season five three times, the Pylea arc four or five, and a few episodes, again, more than I can count. I've also seen Firefly in its entirety multiple times, certain episodes even more times, Dr. Horrible a ridiculous number of times, and I'm getting through Dollhouse now. Yes, I am a shameless Whedon fangirl. whee I still have to watch the last season and a half of Angel, but none of my friends have the dvds and I can't afford them at the moment sad Anyone read the comics yet? The Buffy ones that I've read so far have been pretty sweet, though not as good as the show. I'm slightly obsessed with Whedon shows too... lol Season four's almost universally reviled by most of the Angel fandom, but I don't mind it too much. As a warning though, they push the reset button in a huge way at the end. Season five is HILARIOUS, probably the funniest of all five seasons, and I blame a certain character that joins the cast as a regular. ninja I haven't read the comics. emo I'm too poor to buy them, and need to check if the public library has them.

i would like to fast forward through this summer, because it's obvious no one wants to hire me for a summer job and sitting on my butt all day gets old fast. can college please start now?
however, methinks this summer will be rife with spiritual development and is important even though it may not seem like it now.
...i want that etruscan book now scream
on the other hand, the government finally paid what they owe me. yesterday i checked my bank account and saw that my $175 balance was upgraded to just over $63,000. [:

Violet Song jat Shariff LOL just wait; when your first semester finals roll around you'll wish it were summer vacation again xd Hooray for moneys!!!! haha, probably. i'm one of under 30 kids in the university's honors program. it sounds prestigious, but the academics at that school aren't exactly harvard-quality, so it's not really a big deal. still, i get loads of perks like going to the opera, classes full of more thinkage, going to and running charity events, a scholarship, etc. for no extra cost. i am so lucky and so STOKED. we live in a house rather than a dorm [nicer furnishings, etc.] and i've heard great things about it and how all bonded and close the other honors classes have gotten. making super close friends is my big ambition for college. well, that and graduating and getting into grad school.
between this, waiting on my much-anticipated book, and dealing with my laptop being ultra slow with downloading lately, i am sure that patience is the lesson i'm learning about right now.
