After her attack Mitsu stepped back just as the fish decided to consume another student. Eyes wide she tried not to panic as she located Shun. He obviously wasn't the greatest of swimmers and she didn't want to leave him close to the fish and at risk of being eaten as well.

Making her way toward the reaper Mitsu nudged her head under his arm hoping he would hold on so they could move back to a safer distance for the time.

The fish devoured another student. Shun couldn't move too well in the water and while he could teleport, he really would only likely be able to use it once during this particular battle. He wouldn't be able to keep moving around like that.

As he started to wade away as quickly as he could, he felt Mitsu coming up to get her head under his arm to pull him back faster.

"How are you holding up?" he uttered to her while holding on to the large wolf. He was starting to wear down, but he was alright for now.

Christof was very sure, now, that he did not like fish.

With the reaper now holding on Mitsu pulled them both back putting a fair amount of distance between them and the fish. Despite her waterlogged fur she was still a fairly decent swimmer, not to mention she was tall enough that the water hit her chest while she was still standing.

Asked a question Mitsu looked back at Shun, her expression hard to read in her true form. Truth be told she was wearing down. These little hits here and there were taking it out of her and she could feel her energy draining. She wasn't sure how much more she could take. Even her body was starting to show the damage with the smaller cuts across her face and smaller patches of red fur. This experience was taking its toll.

"I'm okay..." She decided to try and lie, though she looked away immediately after saying it. Hopefully Shun would think she was just trying to watch where she was going.

Well, for better or for worse, it seemed like the Hunter guard had all fallen... except that now Toby had an even bigger problem-- or rather, a whole damned lot of them. There was just too much happening in one enormous blur, and suddenly, amidst the chaos, the fighting, and the scramble of bodies, she was nearly up to her withers in something wet, and oh Jack had that enormous new monstrosity just eaten other student bodies?!

Perhaps out of reflex alone, she actually tried to kick at the thing-- but her movements were painfully clumsy in this awful watery stuff that she only succeeded in briefly going under the surface, sucking in a very much unintentional lungful of minty death. Even worse, the very moment she resurfaced, she heard an unmistakable, short, but painfully desperate barking from behind her.

Oh no no no that was Iris. In all her prior fervor and moral dilemma, she'd almost forgotten that he was there on the outskirts, too.

... As guilty as she might feel about it later, the falsicorn didn't even think twice to abandon her aggressions in favor of frantically slogging back to save her stranded scareon, only managing just barely to catch his harness in her teeth and haul him back above the surface.

All she could do was flop the wheezing, drowned-rat of a seeing eye minipet across her back at that point, but he didn't seem to mind it terribly.

Ol-j-man

After Riyo gave the over-sized fish a taste of her claws, the ghoul's ears perked at the sound of a scream. Peering over her shoulder, she noticed the zombie boil she had been using as a meat shield was flailing uncontrollably in the water. What was wrong with him? She was a cat and even SHE knew how to swim.

... Then again... Shun....

Augh. What the ******** ever. She owed him one, and the demoness did not like being indebted to anybody.

Quietly the ghoul began to doggie paddle back over, her ears falling against her head as the mint started clinging to the inside of her nostrils. Jeez. She had needed a bath after those stupid rooms, but this was ridiculous. "Hey! Zombie kid!" She shouted to him, offering the boil a hand. She hadn't noticed his state of (un)dress... Yet...

Yuki had honestly been too disoriented to care when he ended up in a dress and then a ridiculous cookie suit. He was aware that Astra was standing over him at one point, when the shards of broken glass were raining down over the field, which the fae took most of the damage from in trying to shield him from harm.

Once his feeling of sickness had finally begun to fade and he'd managed to stand up straight again... His senses were drowned in an overwhelming onslaught of minty freshness. With the scent of too-much-mint alone, his nausea returned.

Dammit.

The rush of minty, fishy water left Barth sputtering and cold. The cookie suit soaked through and crumbled away in the torrent of water. He was naked. He was wet. He was in chest-deep water and Christof had disappeared in a flash of fin.

...And Calder was not in good shape.

The thorns stirred under the field and water, slowly this time, gradually weaving themselves into a hedge.

LW spit out the minty water (really? Minty water?!) and wiped at her eyes to clear the water away. She heard her name yelled and turned to see Mei throwing something her way. Oh. OH! Paddling a little backwards, LW watched the small pill come her way and snatched it out of the air. She gave Mei a thumbs up, letting the ghoul know she got it....and then talons wrapped around her middle and pulled her out of the water with the sound of heavily beating wings filling her ears.

"R-Ren?" The she-wolf glanced over her shoulder to see that yep. It was him. She sighed heavily, thankful for being pulled out of the water. Treading water was wearing her out even more. She glanced at her clutched hand, their groups last pumpkin pill inside. Her back ached (not that she was going to tell Ren he was squeezing the slice along her back or anything) and she wasn't sure how many more hits she could take. And what about her other teammates? Were they alright? Did they need it more than she did? Mortimer had been getting low in health....oh! Oh right! He had the other pill!

The she-wolf sighed again and popped the pill into her mouth. Besides, she figured that it might be the only way to convince Ren to let her keep fighting if she had full health.

"Thanks, dear heart." She said softly, giving Ren that special smile reserved for him before looking back down at the battle. And one flailing pup. "Jove!" LW smacked at the gryphon's foot. "Get close enough so I can grab him!"

It was probably a stupid thing to try using his Fear ability without more practice---but it was even more stupid to use it on a water filled battle field against an opponent that was not only fast but probably too quick for the black dog that was currently flailing about in the water to properly land a hit. But what did he do? He tried it anyways---and failed; zapping only himself.

"OW! s**t that hurts!"

"Graaaa-aaaa-aaaaaa!" went the zombie some more before he finally heard the ghoul. Wide, somewhat opaque-colored eyes found the drowned cat's hand and, shivering and wet, he grabbed on.

Ah, to feel a clammy normal hand was one thing. To feel a clammy undead one was another. It was like holding wet, fleshy rubber that gave if squeezed, and if too much pressure was given upon might well cause the flesh to give more than even that. And with the water, well . . . who knew how long before the boil started falling apart. Especially given his condition.

But oh, how clingy he was - how the tables had turned. His hand was a true Death Grip, as all zombies had - Riyo would not easily find herself extricated from it.

"Th-Thanks," he stammered, shivering from more than just the minty cold. "Thanks . . ." He didn't know how long he could keep calm-ish, but so long as he was holding onto someone, it seemed to help.

While they were busy standing there drenched, the patched up boil from before got swallowed. DDD8;; "Need . . . N-Need t-t-to make it barf," Mort said rather eloquently. How many could that thing hold in its stomach?

He didn't want to know.

As others began to attack it once more, Mort spotted a semi-familiar . . . face? Body? More like tail. With his free hand the boil waved at the floundering horse and its "rider". "Over here!"

Remi couldnt help it, one second he was next to Freya.... and the next he felt like the life was being squeezed out of him. Truthfully if she had stayed there... he would have probably whined to remove himself from the death grip of the ghoul.

Thankfully.. she found someone else to cling to. Right as this giant..FISH..thing came out of no where.

Not to mention, after charging, Remi learned why fish and fire dont mix. Apparently the fish are DAMN GOOD at dodging flames.

Really, this was just chaos on top of chaos-- and to think, Toby didn't even realize the true magnitude of this trip and the "conflict" she'd already had to dismiss. Her mind was still floundering damn near as bad as the rest of her, just thankful her hooves could still stay planted underneath her, and her back remained inches above the surface line. Iris seemed doubly relieved for the latter, perched at her shoulder and bracing himself like a diminutive (sopping wet) rider atop her a--

... Hey. Hey. Was that someone waving at her?

She could certainly recognize the hazy shape of the figure nearby, despite only having 'met' him a few minutes prior, and obligingly the girl (... er, pony thing) slogged over a few steps, her ears pinned back with a certain awkward displeasure for the whole miserable fiasco this "battle" had become. What was she to do?! Clearly the swallowed students needed rescue, but now this boy seemed terribly panicked, and she couldn't simply leave him there to suffer...

At the very least, finding out why Mort seemed so shaken was in order-- ... aside from the obvious stressors.

"Are you alright?" Then, a pause. "... Do you need assistance? A ride?..."

It would've probably sounded like a stupid question if she didn't happen to be a mutant unicorn thing standing in front of him-- but hey, small favors. At least she didn't have to suffer wavering conviction when it came to helping her fellow students.

Freya wanted to get back to cuddling up with all of the fuzzy animal students - and not wading in water that was slowly disintegrating her outfit.

She sunk lower into the water, watching in horror as the fish ate Christof. Maybe if she just sunk down, it wouldn't see her- wait, it was a fish, it would see her better.

"HERRYK, COMES I WANT TO CLIMB ON YOUR HEAD." Heights. That's what she needed!

Rational thoughts and comments weren't going to work with Freya, Herryk knew that right now. There was no way that he could just outright say, 'Oh, but Freya darling, you are very nearly naked and if you climb on my head all the boils in the room would be staring at your most delectable and awe-inspiring curves. No, you mustn't!'

Not that he would ever have the finesse to ever put his thoughts into such flowery and eloquent words.

"Ehmm.. Freya, you should ah.. stand behind Herryk. Yes. Behind him. And ah.. duck down. In the water. Yes. Freya is so pale in the water, the fish will never see her." He offered her a weak little smile. "It is a good idea."
