Damian kept eye contact with Mina just as he leaned down and kissed the back of her hand. With that, he stood and gave a small salute to her, turning and heading down the hill to where some of the other people had started a bonfire.
Kai looked up, raising her eyebrows and looking around before shrugging and looking back to Hakaru. "I'm under the impression that the cabins are a free-for-all and I have no doubt the cabins will not be divided," she said with a shrug before she leaned her head back on the arm of the couch and closed her eyes. [OOC:] Damn... She's not quite as feisty as I intended...

Hakaru nodded some and came in choosing a bed and laying down, getting under the covers. He was a little tired, but he couldn't help stealing a glance at the mermaid who had saved him.
Mina just blushed brightly when Damian kissed her hand. Once he was gone she let out a slight whimper. "L-Like a prince out of a romance novel..."

Kai didn't pay much attention to Hakaru as he came in, choosing instead to be thankful for the rare silence that filled the room. The whole trip had been reasonably relaxing, aside from the whole drowning incident.
Damian dropped down onto a log at the bonfire between a couple of his friends, accepting the stick with the marshmallow that he was given. A few people started heading to the empty cabins, but not many, and they all went into one of the darkened ones.

Hakaru watched her for a few moments before nestling into his cot and stopped staring at the mermaid. He buried his face into his pillow and hoped this wasn't going where he thought it was.
The little sparrow had come to the bonfire as well, but jsut to warm up since the night was growing cold. She warmed herself, rubbing her arms some as she sat next to the fire, getting nice and warm before heading to bed.

Kai couldn't sleep, whether it was the distant noise of the bonfire or the lump under one of the cushions of the couch, she didn't know. She just opened her eyes and sat up on one of the nonlumpy cushions, pulling out a deck of cards from her bag and dealing a game of solitaire on the couch.
Damian smirked as Mina sat down across the bonfire from him, and he adjusted his smirk to be a smile, pulling the marshmallow out and moving around the logs to stand behind Mina. He crouched beside her and held out the stick with the marshmallow towards her. "Want one?"

Hakaru couldn't help but look up at Kai. She seemed content by herself playing cards. Maybe that was his shyness talking. He wanted to go ask if she wanted any company, but he was glued to his bed (thankfully metaphorically), unable to even get up.
Mina looked to the stick and smiled that shy cute smile she had. "N-No thank you. I'm not all that into sweets." she said, turning back to the fire.

Kai managed to find all the Aces within a few minutes of starting the game, and she quickly started to find herself bored, since the game was going by entirely too fast. As soon as she was finished, she knew she didn't want to play again, which left her utterly bored. It sounded like Hakaru was asleep, so she just picked up the cards and started shuffling them, hoping to figure something out before she got too bored.
Damian smiled back, shrugging and plucking the gooey marshmallow off its stick, taking a bite and effectively getting white goop on the corner of his mouth. "Where do you get all your sweet, then, if you don't eat them?" he teased nicely. She was pretty adorable, he had to admit. He wondered why he hadn't really noticed her on his radar before.

Hakaru soon looked to her again, seeing her look of utter boredom. He sat up and looked to her. "Do... Do you want someone to play with?"
Mina blushed some at Damian's tease. "You got some marshmallow on the corner of your mouth, Damian." she said with a small giggle.

Kai was surprised, though not startled, at Hakaru's voice, and turned her head to look at him. "What games do you know?" she asked, shuffling the cards in her hand and turning on the couch so she faced him.
Damian raised his eyebrow and wiped the wrong corner of his mouth. "I don't think I got it-- Where?" he asked, though he knew exactly where the marshmallow was.

Hakaru moved over to sit across from Kai, sitting in a chair, moving a table between them for the cards. "Not much. I don't usually play cards...."
Mina giggled again. "Other side." she said, smiling sweetly at him.

Kai raised her eyebrow. "You've gotta at least know how to play poker," she said, though she was a bit apprehensive. If she had guessed, she would guess that Hakaru didn't know any card games. Mostly because most games these days included gambling.
Damian swiped at the corner of his mouth, effectively missing the marshmallow. "Did I get it that time?" he asked with a hopeful expression.

Hakaru shrugged. "I've seen some people play, but I haven't played myself..." he said, scratching his head some.
Mina smiled and sighed a bit. She took out a small handkerchief and wiped Damian's mouth. "There."

Kai shook her head and started to deal a game for five card draw. "You are deprived. Alright, this is one of the five-card games, and a draw. So each person gets five cards. If this were a real game, there would be a betting round." she looked at her cards and saw two Kings, and three tens. Full House in the first hand; just her style.
Damian smiled at Mina, wiping where she had and laughing a little. "Well, thanks. I guess I should probably avoid goop for a while," he joked.

Mina smiled some and nodded. Yet she stood up, wrapping her jacket around her shoulders. "I'm going to head to bed. See you tomorrow Damian." she said, heading to Kai's cabin, hoping it had room. It was also the closest one with lights on.
Hakaru nodded a little to what Kai was saying, picking up is cards as well. He had a ten, a three, a five and six, and a Jack. All seemed to be the same suit. How odd....

Kai put down the deck and put her cards face-up on the table, since this was just a demonstration. "Alright, this is what you call a pat hand. This is five card draw, so after the first round of bets, all the players would decide what hand they're going for, and there's a list, and then trade in cards to the dealer before betting begins again. I wouldn't replace any cards because only two things beat the Full House, which has a three of a kind and a pair together: Four of a Kind, and Straight Flush. What do you have?"
Damian raised his eyebrow and mock saluted her with a smile as she headed off to one of the lit cabins. He turned and started talking to one of his friends again, laughing and joking. At some point, someone asked him why he was talking to Mina the Bookworm. He shrugged, said she was cute, and moved on to a different friend. He didn't see what the problem was with her being a bookworm. In fact, he was now vaguely annoyed.
