There is another quest that is now accepting. It is for the Dark Brother hood faction members only. It will be an easy quick quest. Please check under the 'quests' subforum for 'A Watery Grave' to sign up.

PvP does need some sort of solution, I agree. What about an adjudicator/someone "refereeing" the shots or something? :S Neither the dice nor a judge are perfect solutions but letting players go until someone decides to take the fall isn't suitable, either--plenty of fights just won't see a conclusion. One would hope people would enter a fight knowing they have a chance of loss and being mature enough to accept it, utilizing general RP etiquette/rules to appropriately play out the scenario, but how often does that actually happen? : P
Vintage seems pretty neat in terms of flavour and objective, but competitive RP isn't my cup of tea so I'll stand out of this one.
Edit;; A Watery Grave, though; I could give that a go. :3

As a fighter qualifier for the Grand Tournament 2011 I can honestly say, its T1 or just eliminate PvP. Have other players call each other out on the bullshit, and if need be, a mod can step in and inform someone if they had godmodded, a-hit, or any other of a number of things that would get you dropped from a tourney.
Put a crew member or two in charge of the arena to keep an eye on the fights, and if they see something out of line they can say something.
((It just occurred to me that most of you probably don't know what the grand tournament is... sweatdrop ))

Why not just offer a few types of approved methods for Arena PvP? Both competitors can agree to a method (dice, adjudication match, T1 or whatever it is, etc.), and we can have some guidelines drawn up for each option detailing what they entail. Then the competitors can merrily go at each others throats using whatever method they're most comfortable with. We get to keep PvP and the players who want to participate have a choice in what way they want to go about it. It's win-win for both moderators and players.

Eh, its not really up to me. Although, using one set of rules keeps thing simple, and makes it easy on the crew.

On a completely unrelated note, I think the subforum that is the divider of the others should be Shivering Ilses. It would be like a hidden portal that only the very curious would find. whee
That, and I love Sheogorath...

In a guild I was in a while back, we had a system... I can go look it up, but the short version was "Fight. Roll a 6-sided die. For spells, it determines it's effectiveness (healing) or hit rate (damaging). For fighting, if you roll an even number its a hit. odd, it's a miss." What do you think? I need all VC and Crew to come together and DISCUSS this and the other issues we have ongoing.

That, and I love Sheogorath... We'll take it under consideration- originally, The Shiverring Isles weren't planned to be in the guild, but I suppose if the membership grows and the demand gets large enough, we can add it. The only problem is determining how to set up a Court of Madness.... Naturally, the Mad God/Jyggalag himself will be controlled by the Mods/admins of the guild.

I need to play Shivering Isles. Maybe I'll make a new game and give it a go! I'm still going through Knights of the Nine, but I took a break from Oblivion. XD
I always go back, though. Always.
