"Indeed you're correct in that notion Malik, the same as the sea she lives in. And takes pleasure in rocking the boats that sail that sea. Not a horrible woman, but indeed a bit hard to deal with at times. We have our spats but they pass as quickly as storms in open plains." Though a bit of a raised eyebrow at his 'special' necklace joke. He thought he had to admire Malik for the boldness, which of course was followed by a laugh with Malik's own.
She blinked a few moments before she took it as the joke it was intended, giving both men a smile from her. "Knowing that woman, she could slip right out like water itself." But she merely snuggled down into Kieran's lap in perhaps the most relaxed fashion Malik had ever seen her. "Ah, a scholarly exchange."
Kieran gave another chuckle, pressing as kiss to Fianna's temple. She had her moments, but his attention turned back to Malik. "Hm...so much to cover...any particular place that you want to start? A particular insterest, aspect?"
"Bridge elf is just a fancy term for a mixed blood elf really...but it's nice to have a place where you think you don't, you know. Much like you and your human family in a way...a place to belong when no one else wants you." A little shrug. "If I had a guess I'd say you were either a wood elf or a high elf...though I don't know what type of elves were here before the collapse of the surface." She paused a moment, following his subject change then. "I'm one hundred and thirty two at the begining turn over of this year. I take it you are not either passed that two hundred mark yet either, yes?" Elvish curiosity mixed with human blatant nature. How intriging.

"That's easy enough. Political power. what you can do, what you can't do. who runs what and where, particularly in the area of the gateways and the proccess of importing and exporting goods through them. After that, local laws that may universally apply across borders, such as the laws this crest brigade might enforce, and dieties specific to areas. knowing the nature of the prominent gods can do much to understand motivations or reasonings to religious people."
Malik leaned against the doorframe.
"If my temper in a council flames..you'll know it and probably well before it gets violent. I have a feeling the slightest angered twitch in my mind and Piper will be informing you."
Then a shrug.
"and everything there is available to you to know about Vrist, was it? the drow outpost? So that I can draw parallels if need be by an example they can recognize."

"Ah so that what it means, I guess it's better than saying half breed or halfling." Arthur had a smile on his face, it was actually nice to talk to someone who wasn't drunk half the time for a change. "Ha I beat you by one year, I'm one hundred and thirty three this year as well." He said with a wide grin on his face. "I never really knew my age so I just counted the years I knew each of my pair of 'parents' and when I was told about the whole elf age difference I figured it out with a little help." his grin has now turned down to a small smile as they continued walking down the hallway. "I guess by living with your type of parents you know some magic. What kind do you have?" he asked with a intrigued look.

She knew that wasn't the case, there was probably a half hour or at least fifteen minutes but there he went shoving her away. She couldn't complain really since she knew she unsettled him, worried him and he did the same to her but she was drawn to him. She could never understand why but it was like a fly to honey...until he became vinegar. "Alright. I suppose I'll be right back down here tomorrow dark and early..." She stood up and headed into the library to continue her research. She still had a lot todo though she walked slowly with her hands slightly raised and her fingers splayed to keep those threads in place and her energy centered,. This was harder than she thought...

The great wyrm lay still, breathing heavily. His drawn out breaths brough a chill to the air, as his scales hummed with a deep hollow sound, similar to a power generator. The lair was a rather large hollow, it was about four hundred by six hundred foot oval, with only two exit tunnels. One of which was far too small for this gigantic beast. A horde of gold coins, and various other expensive treasures littered the ground around the dragon's bed (as well as made the bed).
A torch was light in each corner of the room, causing the dragon's blue scales to shimmer with a matalic glow. From head to the tip of his tail, the dragon was about three hundred feet long. The tension in the air could be cut with a knife, even though the behemoth was alseep.
Cocky as ever, the lone drow warrior marched into the lair without a hint of fear or reservation, his steps held the pride he so often showed when ever he felt a need to do anything. "Hey, wake up." He shouted with a rather loud voice, his comrades abandoned him on this quest, as this was probably very suicidal.
The dragon did not stir.
"Wake up or I'll kill yah."
The dragon remaind still.
"Wake up or I'll do horrible things to all of you beloved ones."
The dragon snored.
"Wake up or I'll touch your treas-"
Half way through the word 'treasure' the dragon rose from his slumber and bore down upon the lone drow, which caused the dark elf to quickly dodge out of the way. He had to tumble rather exotically to avoid crushing death, bitting death, or clawed death. Thankfully this dragon forgot about his magical properties or breath weapon when he was angry.
"I just want to talk." Kimmuriel said as he leaped aside. "I have a very profitable prouposal for you, one that does not envolve many drow, just fifteen. The rest envolves humans and surface shits."
After several rather intense minutes, the dragon slowed his attacks, and took up a defensive position between the drow and where his treasure. "Speak quickly, and speak surely." The great maw spoke in undercommon.
"I know where a great deal of wealth is, and is realitively unprotected. The guards are stupid and ill-treated, the minions consist of weaklings that would make a mockery of goblins, but lose to orcs."
"This sounds interesting. What do you suggest, I leave my treasure here with you, and go forth to cause great destruction on this place that does not exist, while you steal my treasures." The dragon said with a rather cynical tone. Drow lied.
"I happen to know that you are quite capable with your magics." Kimmuriel said with a rather calm tone, one that was as close to friendly that a drow would use with another drow in sincere conversation. "I will show you a map, and you can use a 'wizard's eye' to see the place I wish to sack. You can judge my words from that visual proof."
Snearing, and even release a jolt of electical breath weapon, the dragon streched his serptine head out over the drow's location, and made a facial guesture that would resemble a smile if it were not for the elongated face and many, crocodile-like teeth that decorated the jaw-lines. "And you would arrange for the enemy to have allies that could defeat me, because you would wish to keep the horde and mine for yourself." The dragon's voice boomed, causing a tribe of goblinoids a few hundred miles away to panic and flee.
"If I did that, then you could not help me to destroy my homeland."
"I would never go against a city of drow." The dragons lowered his face to stare at the little twig that was Kimmuriel. "That is suicide, even for a dragon."
"Aye, it is suicide for a lone dragon, and since you would never work together, you would have to relly on an army of lesser beings. One which I am hoping to build." The drow smiled. "It would bring me great joy and pleasure to earn your assistance through the long process of filling most of your desire for treasure, so that when the only place left to fill your need, is the empire I wish to crush."
"Empire? Since when could the drow ever create something as organized as an Empire?" The dragon retracted his head, and spread out hhis feet to assume a form of offensive stance, one which would let him use the most of his weapons quickly.
Kimmuriel had to whip his face off, as the breath of the beast had been full of mosture from his mouth, it smelt rather disgusting like half rotted flesh, probably because most of what the dragon last ate was still stuck between his teeth. "My mother amassed enough power to force many drow cities into a formal alliance. From there she began her systematic destruction of the underdark. When she had killed everything, she moved to the next plane, and then to this one when she managed to do it for a second time. We were well on our way to destroying this plane's dark when the catacylism's effect cause a massive set back, as well as provided a great deal of creatures to smite."
"It what you say is true, you would have hunted me down." The dragon narrowed his eyes, which Kimmuriel could now identify as being yellow.
"You once lived on the surface, you would not have been harmed. We simply wished to fill Lloth's plane with the souls of the dark, so she would gain greater prestige within the Abyss."
The dragon milled over this, it was very farcical. "Stand still for five minutes, I shall commune with Tiamit's chosen to see the truth in your words, drow." Kimmuriel did not blink, or breath for five minutes when the dragon suddenly stared down upon the drow. "Tiamit does not think you are lying."
"I know better than to lie to a dragon. A supior race could never be decieved so easily."
"But, you would try."
"Only if I knew I could get away with it."
"Honesty does not befit one of your complection."
"I'll tell you about Gil some time, and then you would understand."
"I do not care. How would you have me protect my horde while I was off following this foolish quest."
"We'll store it in a dimensional container, and you can carry that. Your expertise in magic-works would let you know if it were trapped or tricked."
"Agreed. Let us go and form a friendship, so far as my coffers fill."

Kieran reached into his surcoat and pulled out another journal he had on his person, tossing it to Malik. His own little field guide he had written in his spare time where he had totally too much free time. "Well that should help, you can reference back from what I say. But in terms of political power...ruled much like a cooperative monarchy, if that at all makes sense. We come to truces and agreements about what is being done in our own lands, all follow an agreed upon plan. Those plans made at the seasonal councils of course."
"Basically you don't cross anyone that you have made a deal with, if you deviate from agreed upon thing, others must be informed. Individual laws will differ from nation to nation, as one naturally expect, but yes there are those over all ones. Which as you mentioned, the Crest Brigade enforces. They are also the ones who watch over the gateways. The 'over all' laws are those that the Brigade follows, based on your common elvish honors system."
He took a moment to clear his throat. "As for dieties, Andal does have it's own plane specific pantheon. Aliah, Faolan, Rinc Kier, Prycstal, Kafele, Cafell, Treddian, Valen, and Safiya. That would be everyone looks to them all in aspects they represent, but we all have our patrons, that being Arch, Wood, Moon, Sea, Obsidian...other Obsidian, adopted Bridge/All, All, and All. Arch and Obsidian being the High elves and Drow of Andal."
Fianna put a finger to his lips and patted his hand. "Take a breath love and let him catch up, would you?" A little chuckle from her and a shake of her head before she looked to Malik herself. "I think the thing you will have trouble latchign to is Andalian time. We're two days ahead of you yes, as I recall being told...but seven years by human measure equal one elven season measured year in Andal. One season lasts for three years and a quarter of a month...by that time."
Joke time? Why yes. "You should be lucky we're letting you marry her...by Andalian standards, she's not even an adult really. Has another season measured year before she is." Because in Andal, they didn't consider their young to be adult until thier one hundred and fortieth year. "Good thing we like you then, isn't it?"
Then a little nod. "Oh I'm sure she will...or she can always do what I do with Kieran. A little love tap never hurts." More like a whack in the arm with a fist or a back of a hand, or whatever she may be holding.
Kieran gave his own chuckle. See? She could be quite pleasant and personable when she wanted to be. "Yes indeed." But triple colored eyes turned back to Malik again. "Vrist...oh how I do wish I could tell you more. I only have second hand information from those who are willing to speak of it. I would say Sevilin has a better grip on it, though trying to get him to tell you may be harder than trying to steal a phoenix pinion." Yes he knew...he'd tried. "But over all, your common place drow, the Outpost faces Lucana and is run like a wartime bunker. They're big on an ideal of 'convert or die' when it comes to thier 'good' counterparts on the Requias Peninsula. Cut throat as any, strict traders, specialize in weapons and magic components, a black market forged by them as well. Conduct raids. They like to hold the reins, hold them tightly and not share them."
"Indeed, no one likes to be told that they are not whole by thier labeling." Indeed, it did offer some comfort to 'belong' somewhere. Even if it was obscure in a way. But a little coy look at him as he boasted his age of her by a simple year. "Smart way to do it I suppose. Then again what is age to an elf? We have forever if we so choose and are careful in our lives. And even if we mortally don't our spirits do. We'll walk the earths again, yes?" Well...she wasn't sure of his agreement. After all, she was one to speak in elvish terms, and humans had quite a different thought system. However she didn't know if she liked how he kept talking as in type of elves. "Some, but I don't use it heavily or recreationally. My parents lived apart and thus I was raised by them seperately, yet together if you understand that. So much time with one, so much with another, both imparting me with knowledge. "Basic elementals that I can attach to weapons mostly, or induce blood given abilities with. I take it you are more savvy and free with yours?" Seeing as those who often were asked such questions.
He leaned back in his chair, half shaken and half drained from that little trip down the learning path. It was tiring for him as well after all, trying to keep things compossed. But a little nod to her. "Indeed, dark and early." As she had more or less fled the room. But Sevilin remained where he was sitting at the table, one elbow proped on the table and his chin resting on the back of his hand.

"I process information quickly, Fianna. So the Crest's rules are the terms and agreements from the council, international political treaties. Vrist's inner workings I'd have to get sevilin to tell me about, and he owes his alligance to me, it might be easier than you think."
That journal was thumbed through lightly.
"Aliah, Faolan, Rinc Kier, Prycstal, Kafele, Cafell, Treddian, Valen, Safiya. Aliah is the Koada'dal patron, Fier'dal is Faloan, moon elven is Rinc Kier, Sea evlen is Prycstal, Tier'dal is Kafele, outcast or fallen Tier'dal is Cafell, and Treddian, Valen, and Safiya are the three that cross kingdom and racial boundaries, correct?"

"In Andal, no matter whom you are, you live by the crest. It is made the way it is for a reason...don't think we randomly picked it to be a tree just because we could, did you?" A little chuckle and then a held up finger in that corrective manner. "Have two backwards. Cafell is patron to the Vrist drow, and Kafele is said to be her twin sister who is patron to the Requias drow. A rather nice story goes along with how they came to such things as splitting a race that one ruled over together...quite close to Llothian teachings. And indeed Lloth can be seen as the creator of them, just as Corelleon can be seen as the creator of the others." Yes he loved that story...The Tale of Twin Obsidian Goddesses.
A pause for a moment. "Treddian, Valen, and Safiya are more of those...encompassing forces and common things between all gods and goddess, yes. Though we don't hold just to our own Gods, embodied traits and what not. Though I would say the Vrist elves don't really pay much mind to those three...Lloth's and Cafell's ways being the only right ways and absolute." A little shrug at that though.

"That is ture, age doesnt really matter to us, but if I never really figured it out I probally never would have known how old I am at all for the rest of my life." Well thats the only reason why he ever liked being an elf, the age factor came in real handy since there is so much he could learn and doesn't have to worry about time. Although he should of been careful how he talked to Piper, he kept on refering to her parents or any other elf as they, that was stupid it made him look like he was a idiot human instead of a kind elf. I should watch what I say more... he thought and crused at himself for being an idiot. "Well it sounds like even though you had to go to both your parents they taught you alot of neat things." Arthur had a small smile on his face when he raised his arm infront of him and opened his hand to create a small flame on his plam. "Fire is the only element that I can control, back when I was a kid it was hard to control it but I took my time and now I can only create fireballs and firewalls, its better than nothing." Arthur had a small grin on his face as he closed his palm to get rid of the flame. "I only use it when I'm in a bad spot."

"I learned a lot within the eighty years that I was with them." Though she would admit, she never finished her 'formal' education. But that was a moot point seeing as though no one else had taught her, she had taught herself after her leaving her plane and also learned of those things that are not taught formally. She was well versed in thing...yes young, but with more life experience under her belt than most at her age. More grown up mentally than she was bodily really. Though a small smile at his little fire making. "Not a bad thing...it is better to excell in one thing than to be clumsy in several, yes?"

"Typical of the drow. 'The Destiny of the Drow is to conquer all'. But I'll keep that in mind for the diety. don't want to offend if I don't have to. unless someone decides to bite first. Now exactly what will my official postition be in this meeting in reguards to the others? So I know when I'm stepping past my boundaries. not that I won't, but just so I know when I'm doing it."
Though a bit of a grin at the parents.

Arthur opened his hand again to make a bigger flame, he stared at it for a bit as they walked and had a small smile on his face, he then made the flame engulf his whole hand and clenched his fist tightly. "Yeah it is good to at least be good at something than nothing really, I'm just happy to have some sort of magic skill than none." Arthur than shook his hand to get rid of it so he didn't throw the fireball by mistake and hit something, he then crackled his knuckles a little bit to release the tension in his fingers. "Since I'm new here is there anything you want to know about me?" he asked with a small smile.

"Yes...you wouldn't want to speak of Kafele in a Cafellian society, or call a Kafeleian in league with Cafell. All complex and what not you know how gods and goddesses can be." Another light shrug on his part, turning his eyes to the remaining journal in his hand, scanning over something he had written on the page before his attention was given back to Malik. "You in this coucil, are seen as an equal that is fostered under mine and Fianna's request to have you there. Despite your station or position, you will be given equal say. Though it would do you well to not crunch toes in telling others how to do things too much. Input and command are different as you well know."
Fianna could only chuckle lightly at Malik's final statement. "Yes, I know that fact well. To take her from you would prove a task most impossible, and even deadly under the right circumstances. And well...she's always been following her own trails, uncharted and wonderfully twisted as they may be." Yes, after a long talk with Kieran about Piper, Fianna had more or less come to terms with, or what was left of unsolved things, on all that had happened. "Sometimes I think she actually takes joy in aggrivating others."
A little chuckle. "You're elven. All elves have some form of innate magical means in thier blood. Even half elves are more inclined to have those abilities." She watched him play with his fire a little, almost as if he was showing off for her before dispelling the fire on thought of whim alone. Yup, elvish. "Hm...well...is the blade the only thing you are good at, Lord Murdock?"

Arthur looked down at his katana for a little bit, it has been a long time sinc ehe has gotten the blade, and has cherished it ever since, but that doesn't mean he learn other things. "Well other than my small amount of magic and skills with my katana I know some basic hand to hand skills." He said with striking a small pose before going on. "Other than that meh I've been more focus on how to train my self better with what I have already." He grasped his katana lightly and smiled. "I've grown to honor the ways of this sword with alot of care, even though most humans are regared as simple minded idiots some of their culture is just simply amazing, and there are a rare few who are nice to those who look different than them." He sighed a little as he let it go and looked at Piper with a smile. "What about you? do you know any thing besdies your magic?"

"Indeed. A drow and thier diety are not to be trifled with or insulted. loyalty is first to god, then house, then spouse..well..most of the time."
A slight grin.
"My loyalties are still getting themselves in order on that one sometimes. but I know commandand input differ enough. but that doesn't mean this sea elf will find me to be a pushover in matters. In fact...due to your little insinuations about her...I dare say I'm a bit eager to cross verbal swords with this woman."
Walking over to Ramoth, petting on her lightly.
"And since you are here...I take it Ramoth's new shoes have arrived?"
Which got a snort and a questioning glance directly at Kieran. in one of those 'They better be damn good' kind of looks women gave about important gifts.
