Maki gave a sheepish smile, Joan was right and she knew it. She has been out of the loop for some time and it would cause more harm than good if she even tried to help.
"You're right," she admitted. "I just hope the others hurry with their missions and come back. I did want to talk to Katrea before we left. But do let me know if you ever need help. I wonder who this person is and why they would do something like this."
Maki rubbed her forehead as if a memory was lingering there.
"I remember Andreas mumbling something about getting some country to do his bidding ... it's right there but I can't remember the details," she said rubbing her forehead. "I'm sorry. I wish I had something that could help. But I know Andreas is up to something. He thought I was asleep when I was trapped in that body, he and the woman he was with had something to do with the creatures at the gate."

"Zetsuei."
Shinja stood behind Zetsuei atop the roof of the temple's entrance. His arms were crossed, and his thick, white hair blew to the side as the breeze of mountain air ran through it. "I know I apologized already...but I feel as though I need to do it once more." Shinja slowly placed his hand within the brown cloak he wore. After fiddling his hand around for a few moments, he pulled out his old pair of sunglasses and wiped them with part of the cloak. Since he hadn't worn them in a long while, they'd collected quite the amount of dust. As he wiped them, however, the dust cleared with ease, uncovering the old shine of the lenses. Shinja then put them on, staring at the horizon in the distance.
"Forgive me for the lack of trust I may have presented to you, Zetsuei. Believe me when I say that the Orb is what should be held responsible for it." Shinja once again crossed his arms, his gaze still set on the sky above the horizon. "Although the Orb's antics may seem to be absent for now, there's something else we've got to worry about." Shinja's voice suddenly grew quieter and more serious than usual.
"My greatest fear has finally surfaced...war is brewing, my friend."

Maki smiled at Joan and thanked her for her complement. She has grown since the last time they met and she was pleased that her sister noticed. Giving Joan a quick hug she walked towards the temple door with ease. No darkness draining her of her energy or pain to slow her down. She was finally free.
"Thank you ... if I don't see you again tonight please be safe ... I love you, sis!" she said as she pushed the door open and walked out of the temple. As she looked around at the streets, the knights and people wandering about she glanced up at the sky and smiled before staring down the streets for any signs of Katrea wandering about.

Considering their penalties of just barging into the Queens room from her balcony they gracefully landed in a position similar to squating with on hand on the ground to push themselve up to stand gracefully at castle doors.
Within five second of their landing they were running into the entrance hall looking for someone to help them. Eyeing off two people walking down a corridor deep in convosation they rushed foreward to ask them.
"Ummmm excuse me, But do any of you's know where to find a priestess Kyana would be?"

Standing up slowly and turning himself around to face Shinja, Zetsuei placed his hand on Shinja shoulder.
"Don't worry about it Shinja, you had the right to not trust me. I mean both woman you have cared for were at risk when we were bringing Maki back so I understand. I don't think the orb's antics are truly absent Shinja, the orb has manifested itself into its own body and can freely now manipulate from the sidelines without having to infect someone as a host."
Starring at the sun for a second Zetsuei then looked back at Shinja
"Don't take this the wrong way but, when I first saw you in the castle grounds before we followed Andreas to the other town I sensed something different in you. Have you embraced the orbs dark energy, and let it take hold of you to gain more power?"
Pausing for a second Zetsuei's voice changed to more of a depressed voice.
" Yeah I know, I heard Katrea and alot of the other knights talk about it. I never would have thought this would actually happen. I hope my island doesnt get found and taken as a base of operation for either side, I cant let that happen."

Maki slowly walked down the streets keeping an eye open for Katrea, the knights moving about recruiting and the civilians wandering about wanting equipment for an upcoming war.
"War ... what has Andreas done while I was away?" she asked herself. She didn't want to think about war. The battle of Darktail was more than she can handle in the past, the scars of war still stings on her stomach when she thought about that day and then the heavy sadness of losing her master and real father to the hands of Andreas was more than she can bare. "There has to be a way to stop this without fighting."

Although Zetsuei's words about the Orb's new move bothered Shinja, he chose not to show it. "So, the Orb has manifested..." Though silent for a few moments, Shinja looked at Zetsuei and smiled before jokingly replying. "What a surprise."
Upon hearing Zetsuei's question, Shinja's face returned to its usual calm state. "After I returned from my journey, the Orb came to me in the incorporeal form of Darktail. He...offered to give me strength in order to save Maki." Although Shinja could feel a frown forming on his face, held it back. "I accepted its offer, unfortunately."
Shinja walked close to the edge of the roof, staring at the sky above. "Earlier...when the vines tried to absorb my life...they took instead the Orb's power. I can only pray that those dreaded things managed to take it all."
Turning to Zetsuei, Shinja smiled once more.
"As ruler of the Cetra, I swear to you that your island will be safe as long as I have a say in it."

"What was the cost of you taking in the orbs power Shinja, what did it want in return? If the vines didnt take it all you will have to pay that price wont you."
Zetsuei knew the orb had prices for everything it did. He wasnt quite sure what Shinja's price was.
"Thank you Shinja, I really do appreciate it, for the first time my people have chosen a side to fight for and not remained hidden in the shadows."

Maki kept walking down the path when something familiar caught her eye, it was the old ruined hospital where she first met Andreas. The darkness in her blood was draining her energy too fast for her to stay conscious. But another memory was surfacing ... one holding her prisoner deep within the ground. She walked closer towards the old hospital and noticed the hole in the ground. The empty pod was still there surrounded by dead vines and frightening memories. She entered the hospital and walked up the crumbling steps to the roof. Once on the top she looked down at the city busy preparing for war and walked towards the edge.
Looking out beyond the castle walls she could see a hill and a dead weeping tree.
"Fira ... that's where we first met," she mumbled to herself remembering the day she mended Fira's arm. "I hope where ever you decided to rebirth that you are safe and happy."
As she wiped a tear from her eyes another memory surfaced. The memory of Shinja stopping her from leaping from this very roof.
"I've made such a mess of things," she said to herself. "I put everyone in danger ... but they stood by me anyways. I am truly lucky to be surrounded by those who love me."

running along near the castle walls there was a small alley along the side of the local tavern. Its shadows are deep and a little mist can be seen due to a small crack in outer wall. People do not come down this alley as it is tainted by the mist and cannot be repaired due to the ature of the foundaqtion so it would be strange to see a man appear from here let alone one that had not entered. But this was exactly the case.
Edouard stepped from the alley his form fading from shadow to reality.
"ah the solice of shadows my only true form of what you would call rejuvination as sleep was robbed from me."
Edouard had heard the voices of someone he had not heard for a long time now and another he had not recognised but now was the soonest he could become physichal once more for he had used a large deal of his shadow powers transfering to here and during his interaction with the one known as kyana. It had taken time to rejuvenate. He knew the others were in the castle but he knew he would not be let in so he would have to make his own way.

As her memories began to slowly fill in the blanks after the ordeal with the mind wiping vines Maki sat down on the edge of the crumbling roof, if anything she thought to herself she could see Katrea and the others from here if they should pass by. But the truth is, all her missing memories are flooding back giving her a headache. Even memories she didn't think were her own until she read about them in the pages of Sai's diary. Which.... speaking of which. She has no idea where it was now.

Kyana stepped out from the infirmery into the the great hall. Since this war had began she had spent her time here often even though fighting had not truly began thank the summons. There was of course training accidents and as a mage many looked to her to help heal the injuries although the doctors used conventional means. many felt that magic was more efficient.
Kyana walked out and looked around stretching her arms she was a little tired but then a lot of people were these days merely with worry if not for the long hours slowly she walked in the direction of the gate seeing some guards around someone she walked towards them.
"hey anything wrong?"

Katrea stood and looked over this monster. it was odd he was standing ready to fight but katrea didn’t seem frightened. Katrea didn’t try and speak to it but also didn’t attack. It seemed like a odd situation he was in. after a few minutes of waiting katrea turned to push the monster back into an alleyways. Katrea wanted to find out what it would do, would it run other then start a fight, a strange thought for katrea to have about a monster but it was something about its eye that made him want to know.
“make your move”
katrea looked at the alleyway before looking back at the monster. His sword was ready if he attacked but for some reason he didn’t think he would.

he held his spear tightly in his grip watching the mans movement his tail slamming the ground as if to challenge him as he watched the ragged knight prepare himself. he moved with him and could see the night trying to push him back yet there was no urge to cut him down like he expected.
the man simply waited and squirm watched but seeing the relaxed fighting pose of the two of them, no rush to do battle he could see this knight was different. he could tell from his eyes he still had the urge to kill anything different but he seemed a little more understanding than the others.
dropping his guard and lowering his spear he took a chance but there was no rush to take him down. taking in a slight breath squirm let loose a cloud of smoke in front of him just enough to cloud his way as he clambered away up a wall and ran of deeper into the alleyways of the castle hoping the man would not follow him.
