Nuk had begun to think that Taima had found someone better to go to Prom with, and was just about to consider this whole expedition a lost cause when suddenly the flood of students began parting, causing a slight commotion off to one side of the big top. It drew the skinwalker's eyes in that direction, his expression deepening into one of bafflement, although admittedly not without a little intrigue. Call his morality into question all you wanted, he couldn't help but be interested whenever pandemonium struck. It was usually something interesting, and what could he say, despite how he really did try hard not to, he kind of enjoyed the suffering of others. And from the sounds of the pained gasps and yelps of indignation, it seemed promising.
Shifting a little against the tarped wall, he was about to go investigate when suddenly, the little student-less bubble vanished as it approached the edge of the giant throng, and out stumbled a very agitated, very sparky-looking thunderbird. Immediately, Nuk's expression lightened, his scowl evaporating to leave that easy-going, calm sort of presence of being that had been so uncommon until recently. For whatever reason, be it her adorable personality or just their joined efforts to find a family they had lost, Taima was the key. Feeling the tent wall give way a little as he pushed off of it, the skinwalker headed towards the ghoul with a light smile, relaxed.
"Hey. Naw, I wasn't waiting that long, just got here," He replied easily, hooking his fingers into his pockets casually. In truth, he felt even more awkward in his shredded jeans; she looked stunning, the black dress making her eyes all the more vibrant, the blue of her wings seeming deeper. She fit the theme to a tee, and looked amazing doing it. Meanwhile, he was all the more acutely reminded how he hadn't even bothered to try -- again. Clearing his throat, Nuk finally groaned under his breath, rolling his neck and making a face. "Hell, your costume looks great," he complained, reaching back to rub the back of his neck and going still as he realized how terrible that sounded, looking sheepish.
"I mean no, that's not... s**t."
Wow, this was going great.
Sighing a little, he reached out to touch her shoulder with a look of sincerity, wincing a little at the shock which resulted. "I'm glad you look great. And you do, you look really pretty. I just... feel bad," he drifted off, glancing off into the crowd. "...I could be a tiger, if you want. Like, a tiger tamer or something... or I could be a bear. Y'know, like those stupid bears that balance on the balls in a tutu?"
Did he really just volunteer to wear a tutu? This was getting off subject. Rubbing his face a little, the skinwalker made the effort to refocus on the topic at hand. They didn't come to Prom to dance and talk about clothes. But surprisingly, Nuk found he wouldn't have minded if they had.
"Right. Others. Uhh... not... today... exactly."

After getting distracted at games, and getting mad at the fun house, Miasma realized... she should really look for Molan again. She hadn't meant to... dash off like that, but she was just...
Ok, no, that wasn't an excuse. She only hoped he wasn't mad at her, and pulled out her eyephone to text him.

When it rained, it poured.
Not only had the woman from war been accosted from two directions by two members of famine, but now Thrain had wandered over, and had to jab fun at her as well. "Steal your date? Hardly. I have one of my ow----" And then he just had to go and say it. Where was Shik. Had her bear abandoned her again?
Again.
It's funny how just one singular word such as that could completely tip the careful balancing act Shaheen was constantly playing in her head to try and keep herself from going completely unhinged. She'd been having such a good night, the whispers a mere nuisance but given little thought. It was all just an act, however. She constantly struggled, constantly fought a war that only she and those afflicted with insanity could truly understand. It was a battle that, for this night at least, she had been winning.
No more. All of the dammed away self doubts, all of her negative feelings, they all begin to leak forth through the cracks that formed in the wall she was using to keep them back. She wanted to shout at the blonde man in front of her, to summon her dagger on him, stab him, hurt him.....though she knew somewhere deep down that it was all wrong. The whispers didn't care, however. The whispers just wanted her to suffer.
"Go. Away." She hissed at him between clenched teeth, her voice venomous, slightly glowing gold eyes darting to his "date" next."NO. Now Get him away from me." She said to her, her hands balling into fists at her sides, trembling, and turning white at the knuckles.
And then she turned towards Uttam, one hand raised as though to tell him to stop, her eyes closing as she struggled to maintain some semblance of control, and then opening again, her eyes still blazing but a smirk slowly curling her lips upwards. "Not if I cut it off." Her voice was cold, and even. "Then it could be my hand. I could make it a new trophy to decorate my abode."
All of this, and it all became for nought when a student stumbled her way into her, causing Shaheen stumble backwards herself, ready to snap on the student as well, ready to snarl at her and insult her in some horribly mean way.
But something stopped her. Maybe it was the way the girl apologized, looking stricken for what she had done. Maybe it was the tiger like ears that were more than visible.
Maybe it was just those ridiculous looking set of shoes. Shaheen gave Uttam a warning look, and than reached over to help set the girl, who had somehow tangled herself up in Shaheen's long skirt, back to rights.
"What are you trying to do, kill yourself?" She glared pointedly at the shoes she had been carrying.

Watching the dance competition was quite a treat, for to see all the couples being so happy and free made the witch all sorts of gleeful. Everyone was enjoying themselves so much! The Student Council had worked so very hard and had really outdone themselves, something the witch was perfectly content to sigh dreamily over as the students danced themselves silly. The change in music was not immediately registered, not until the lights began to dim, at least not until the low volume of music was impossible to ignore. But it was the appearance of the Student Council that really set the scene and the witch quietly maneuvered closer to look up at them. They all looked so precious in their costumes, it was a shame she hadn't gotten a chance to tell Amrita, Aymet and Thackery how much she enjoyed them! But now it was time for Prom Court! How vastly exciting! With a shift on her parasol so that she could properly clap, Belladonna settled down in her spot to watch the proceedings. A quick chirp of vocal joy was her reply to West being voted King, for he would be the grumpiest king of all, resplendently angry in his crown. The image made the witch laugh to herself so that when her own named was called she was still mid-giggle. "What." No wait, not a good response! A flush colored her face and the witch tried really hard to think of something else to say, but then a spotlight was on her and she was being ushered to the stage and oh look Hel was here too! Mildly confused, but suddenly feeling very grateful (and a touch maudlin), the witch clambered up, doing her best to not wave at everybody she could see from here but had not yet had the opportunity to say hello to yet. All bright smiles once finally on stage, it was quite a temptation to scold Alexander when he indicated previous knowledge of this whole thing, but given that Belladonna first had to remove her smaller crown for another one, that was passed over. Now with two objects to hold, one had to go and the witch decided that even highwire ballerinas could turn into queens, so with a snap of one hand the object disappeared.
Next came the dance, of which Belladonna made a particular gesture at Mort to indicate that she would only be a few moments, before she turned and beelined straight up to West. With a rather large (and vaguely mischievous) grin on her face, the witch took his hand. "You get first pick of the song. Do you want to pick, or should I choose for you, Sir King of the Grumpshire?" Yes that was his official name. Without really waiting for a response, the witch pulled her dear friend onto the dance floor and dramatically pointed her scepter at Ren. "Westy says he wants something peppy! About love! With a good beat!" She announced with a grin, bouncing around to flash her teeth happily at the demon. It was good to be Queen... Again. Just, for real this time...
Willow was staring at the horseman that'd helped her up, and then glancing at the group she'd stumbled on, lots of creeple she didn't know. Ears pulling back, "I'm sorry, I d-d-don't wear shoes often." She stumbled a bit over her words trying not to look completely nervous since she didn't know anyone in the group.
"T-these were cute and I thought they'd fit well with my dress. . ." She glanced around, tail curling around her a little, "Ahah... looks like I didn't get the message of the theme of the prom either." She felt a little... out of place. Rubbing the back of her neck a little, "Thanks for your help, I... didn't hurt you did I?" She shifted her dress so that her shoes were a little less noticeable. Maybe she should just take them off?

"Is someone bothering you?"
Shik was the king of posting swooping in once he smelled trouble. Or Shaheen's yelling. It was, in fact, possible to smell that because of her horrible breath, he'd say if anyone asked.
The executioner was suddenly behind her, wings curled behind him, a brow raised either in amusement or confusion--Shik didn't emote very well.

West stomped back into the tent with a huff, his narrow-eyed gaze sweeping over the students and horsemen gathered there. Where was she? He'd dropped her hand for just a second on the way to the fun house, and when he'd turned to address her again, she'd disappeared. He saw a number of pale students, but none with the proper perky ears and tail, among other things. Where could she be?
When the room got quiet and the announcements began, the boil was disturbingly close to the stage already. At first he ignored what he deemed more dance royalty bullshit and continued his search, but when Amrita announced his name, he was forced to give the whole endeavor quite a bit more attention than he might have preferred.
If he'd had free reign to do what he liked, he would have stormed out just as he'd stormed in, but then there was a spotlight and everyone was looking at him and it suddenly seemed a whole hell of a lot easier to just suck it up and take the crown rather than risk not graduating because he'd flipped the entirety of the student council into a wall. West raced to keep ahead of the spotlight as he made his way onto the stage. Alex received a curt nod and a mutter that might have been anything, and then West was on the move again, rocketing off the stage and toward the exit in a cloud of Thackery's glitter. Unfortunately, he was a bit too slow for Belladonna.
"No, I don't," he replied with a sigh, taking out his frustration on the scepter so he wouldn't crush the witch's hand. He glanced toward the tent flap, then relented and let himself be dragged. Five minutes. Finally, he shook his head and smiled faintly at the ghoul, pressing his stupid crown more firmly onto his head. "So, how we dancin'?" He most certainly wasn't going to be tossing her around or anything.
THANK YOU, VOTERS, SINCE WEST IS THOROUGHLY UNGRATEFUL O.O

Amarus' mind had glazed over, and it wasn't until Enzo already had to leave that she realized time had been passing at all. "Of course, thought held," she promised, as he wandered away. She really shouldn't have promised that; she couldn't even remember what his question had been, if she'd even heard it at all. She waved as he left, even if he didn't turn, because... well, she felt like it.
And later, when the music began to die down, and the student council was announcing the prom court, Amarus wolf-whistled for Mort, "Looking sharp, big brother!" she called out, amidst the din, even if he potentially couldn't hear her at all. Amarus listened to the first two winners, clapping her hands gently and dutifully for West and for Jove; she remembered Jove, in passing.
For a moment, she thought she had accidentally dosed herself and was hallucinating. No, that was definitely her own name. Amarus couldn't believe it. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to do, except, well, enjoy the spotlight and then head onto the stage. Alex was holding a crown, and she was only wearing her bells in her hair, so she accepted the prize and wore it with both surprise and joy. Did this really mean she was changing?
Everything was different. It was her first time interacting with Alex, and she took the opportunity to whisper, "Good fight, I hope you are settling into your role well," referring to their competition for PR.
Hel was called for Jester, and Riley for Senior; who didn't know Riley? And Amarus recognized Hel's name from before. "You certainly stir up trouble enough, Hel, does that count as humour in this place?" she asked the ghoul, smiling.
To Jove, who she apparently owed a dance, she said: "I think I met you, didn't I? But you were... younger? You seemed younger." Amarus tilted her head, the white cloth ribbons slipping down, curls bouncing. She smiled at him, and held out one hand.

Mort was halfway in the shadows now that they had done their bit, convening with his dolls in murmurs before sending them on their way. At least Amarus got a little salute and grin from beneath his hood--it was hard to stay biased in the announcements when he was terribly proud of his littler sister and ghoulfriend, but once they both didn't look so engaged he would come to them.
For the moment, he leaned against one of the unused tables and watched Bells work out a dance with West, a mental itch bothering him in his shadowy corner.

Maple found herself back at the main tent, the hub of central activity at prom (from what she could gather anyways). It at least had refreshments and a place to linger, even if she had managed to get herself noticed and pulled into a dance competition not so long ago.
But still. There seemed to be another sort of dance going on, from what the young witch could gather as she she observed the dance floor. Some seemed to be wearing tiaras and had special designation. Oh, had she missed the announcement of the court? Not a lot of creeple that she recognized first hand in the group, some that seemed a little familiar though.
They all looked nice though.

Ren sparkled at Belladonna and West.
"YES OF COURSE, MILADY!" he said happily, and gave them both a mock salute, putting on the most peppy song ever.
Dancing? Dancing? Are you sure? Positive? "You feel like dancing? I thought you said you couldn't dance?" asked Alice as she took another sip of her drink. She knew it. Sure, it kind of made her upset if someone didn't tell the truth, yet she didn't know this person all that well, so she would forgive him. For now.
Alice had arrived at Prom with this dress, these shoes, with a pair of black tights and a matching headband.

Steffani had been having fun but logically, there was no way they'd beat out some of the couples. Still, it was fun enough to try. When they were tapped by the reaper, Steffani grinned and nodded her agreement, laughing. "Worth a shot," She shrugged, stepping to the side. She looked to Xavier as they stepped back, smiling.
"Yeah, definitely." She nodded, grinning, and offered her hand to the demon. In all honesty, it was to pull him out. She wanted to win at least two prizes before it was all over!

The brothers were being so useful. So. Very useful. Etzer was sulking, and Molan was avoiding eye contact with him to not get involved in the potential guilt trip. Yep. So. Very. Useful.
Really. They were an example how to not enjoy ones first prom at school. Sadly, their usefulness went out of the window a bit as Molan suddenly heard the happy little tone of his phone announcing he had a text. One ear flicked up as he shifted to pull out the device and check it, blinking a bit at who the text was from. "So she's not angry then?" Was the quiet bit said more to himself any anyone. Though, what did she mean she was ok then? So had she been angry afterall?
....ghouls were confusing. What did okay mean previously? What had been wrong? Was it alright to inquire, or would that be a landmine all on it's own? Because if he had been in trouble and angered her, then he'd bring up the topic she was over now. But... what if she hadn't been alright? Was there something he needed to watch for and help her avoid in the future? ...and perhaps he was over thinking the whole thing, but now he might have been even more stressed out about it.
What to do... well texting Mia back was a good start. She'd inquired as to where he was, it wasn't a hard thing to answer really. So with that he took to typing in a quick reply before sending the text. ...but should he followup with asking how she was?
Maybe... maybe if he saw if she was angry or not first. Right. Good idea.
[A.V.]
Text to Mia: I'm talking with my brother in the main area. We're near the back to one side from the dance floor.
