Cobra_X White Water Lilly lol, didn't we have a familiar conversation awhile back? If I recall correctly we even had people guessing your age right Cobra? Was it Havik that got it right?
...this old brain just can't keep information like it used to. confused *shrugs* doesn't matter, just wondering.

Haha.
If anything, shuriken are so inaccurate, it's not even a joke to consider Ninjas a possible top combatant. Snipers would be literally 100% invisible, if not, they're not snipers. Marines are trained for environmental supremacy, carrying heavy armor which a shuriken would not penetrate.

Explosive shurikens? During the Feudal Age, no one had a knowledge of explosive or combustible technology in any way or form... That's just a false idea developed by Naruto. Pyrotech, yes they knew how to ignite things. Poison, I can buy, you can coat anything with poison.
Here's a question... What about Samurai? They were the only recorded warriors to withstand gunfire, yet maintain ancient zanjutsu tradition.

We started with Marines vs. Black Op Snipers... I can make all the poisonous exploding shuriken that I want for my modern day ninja.
ALSO... why are you using the term 'Zanjutsu'... that's solely a Bleach construct. I think you might have meant 'Kenjutsu', which is the classical term for a Samurai's "way of the sword".
AND on top of that, there were PLENTY of ninja sects that stuck to their traditions when up agaisnt gunfire. Their tradition was simply different, in that it evolved more with the times, utilizing the new weapons technology offered them when it was to their benefit. They still handed down and utilized their methods of ninjutsu that they had practiced for years.
