It might be muscles. Depending on what you did, you might have torn a serratus (one of the muscles covering the flanks/ribs) or something like that. Depends on where the pain is and when it crops up and how bad.
An examination by a doctor would probably help a lot more.

It might be the diaphragm, but it does sound like it's a muscle problem to me too.

Too high up and not really...centralized enough to be the diaphragm.
My guess was either a bruised rib or a muscle strain/tear. As loathe as I am to go to student health, I think I might as well just to figure out what's up, even if the only cure is rest and anti-inflammatory drugs.
