Matsumoto life revolves around fighting. As a mere child Matsumoto watched as his family ran a dojo in Osaka, Japan, witnessing rigorous training regimen. Both his father and mother were skilled in the martial arts they taught but, they wished for their son's skill to transcend above them both. At the age of 6, he began to train in his parents custom martial arts after spending his early years(age 2-5) simply spectating. The boy became quite skilled and as he grew older his strength and awareness only grew. At the age of 13, his parents were killed in hit placed on them by the Yakuza. He witnessed the murder, the men killed both of his parents execution style after wounding them with bullets.The site would completely devastate the boy, sending him on a rampage as he hurled himself at his parents killers, viciously beating them both to death. After the tragedy, the dojo was forced to close down and Matsumoto was forced to relocate to Nagasaki, where he would live with his Grandpa. While there, Matsumoto began to expand his knowledge in the martial arts. Training day in and day out until his body could barely stand. At the age of 16, Matsumoto began to make a name for himself in underground fighting tourneys, often participating to vent the extreme anger that his parents deaths had caused him. He was given the nick name "The Knuckle Bomber" because of his fast punches and the excruciating pain they caused his foes. The boy's anger began to die down and he began to participate in tourneys less and less. Matsumoto still trained heavily though,as it was his parents dream to have their son become one of the greatest fighters the world has ever known. He would go undefeated in the underground until he was 17, when he encountered a man draped in black bandages. He fought in a style similar to his fathers, his strikes were quick and lethal. Though they both were even throughout the fight, the man was able to claim victory by catching the boy off guard. The man rose his hand in victory,and the crowd cheered. Matsumoto stood defeated and angry,unable to accept what had happened. He rushed up and delivered a phenomenally powerful kick to the fighters head, completely ripping the bandages that hid his face. As the bandages fell, the boy's eyes would widen. The man he had just been defeated by was his father. Before he could even question the man, the police began to raid the underground fight club and through the chaos, Matsumoto's father was able to escape. The boy couldn't believe his eyes..he had witnessed his death..and if he was alive..did that mean his mother was also? Matsumoto didn't know what to do..his only response was to increase his training ten fold, often til the point where he passed out from it. A year later, Matsumoto deemed himself ready and entered a tourney sponsored by the same people who ran the tournament where he encountered his father. Needless to say, the boy won the tourney with ease..but found no trace of his family. It was upon achieving victory that the boy would receive his invitation into the Ludus Fighting Academy. He would accept, in hopes of both getting stronger and finding his parents whereabouts.
