Slowly she arched a brow when seeing Rayne, more so surprised that she was showing her anything remotely close to friendship. Rising from the couch, she bobbed her head. "Good evening Rayne. How are you?"

He held his hand out and summoned his guitar. avid began boredly playing a few notes, then started playing "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash. Love Is A Burning Thing And It Makes A Firery Ring Bound By Wild Desire I Fell Into A Ring Of Fire
I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire I Went Down, Down, Down And The Flames Went Higher And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire
~musical pause~
I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire I Went Down, Down, Down And The Flames Went Higher And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire
The Taste Of Love Is Sweet When Hearts Like Ours Meet I Fell For You Like A Child Ohh, But The Fire Went Wild
I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire I Went Down, Down, Down And The Flames Went Higher And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire
I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire I Went Down, Down, Down And The Flames Went Higher And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire
And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire

"I'm good Miss Ziven, how're you?" She asked politely, noting that she seemed to be acting a little bit weird. "Is something wrong?"

Hearing David she waved at him quickly before returning her attention to Rayne, smiling pleasantly. "Wrong? Indeed not. Just confusing still .. when you and I meet, we seem to be friends unless Reeve is in the room, then you wish to murder one of us." she said softly, ending with a small, nervous giggle.

"Oh..." she said, giggling a bit. "Well, thats mostly just a problem I have with him is all. I'll explain it to you if you do that neat trick with making stuff appear and... get me some vanilla ice cream?" She smiled with a pleading look on her face.

With another giggle, she seated herself at the bar. Raising her hand, she waved her hand, creating a bowl of vanilla ice cream for Rayne and a cup of tea for herself. "I am all ears."

David waved abck at Ziven and continued on to a much more up-beat song, "Ladies Love Country Boys" by Trace Adkins. She grew up in the city in a little subdivision Her daddy wore a tie, mama never fried a chicken Ballet, straight-As, most likely to succeed They bought her a car after graduation Sent her down South for some higher education Put her on the fast track to a law degree
Now shes coming home to visit Holding the hand of a wild-eyed boy
With a farmers tan
Shes riding in the middle of his pickup truck Blaring Charlie Daniels, yelling, Turn it up! They raised her up a lady but theres one thing They couldnt avoid Ladies love country boys
You know mamas and daddies want better for their daughters Hope theyll settle down with a doctor or a lawyer And their uptown, ball gown, hand-me-down royalty
They never understand why their princess falls For some camouflage britches and a southern-boy-drawl
Or why shes riding in the middle of a pickup truck Blaring Hank Jr., yelling, Turn it up! They raised her up a lady but theres one thing They couldnt avoid Ladies love country boys
You can train em, you can try to teach em Right from wrong but its still gonna turn em on
And they go riding in the middle of a pickup truck Blaring Lynyrd Skynyrd, yelling, Turn it up! You can raise her up a lady but theres one thing You just cant avoid Ladies love country boys They love us country boys

She took the ice cream and smiled as she took a bite. "See, I already know you won't hurt my brother. I've talked to you enough to know what kind of person you are, and I've watched you enough to see that your a very gentle person. But he's one of the only people I have left, so I won't give him up very easily." She giggled and took another bite. "My main concern is with my brother. Have you ever seen him in battle?" she asked, looking at Ziven questioningly.

Lowering her gaze, she listened to her brief explanation. There was a moment of silence before she replied. "At least you have him, have the choice .." Stopping herself, she smiled and raised her eyes to Rayne. "I have not." she said softly.

She yawns walking in with her eyes downcast. Her long locks of dark hair shaded her eyes from veiw as she trudged along, dragging her feet slowly to make her way across the room to the window.

She stopped eating, looking at Ziven. "Have the choice to what?" she asked, another questioning look on her face. The rest could wait, this seemed important.

David decided to play one of his all time favorites, "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" by Trace Adkins. Turn it up some Alright boys, this is her favorite song You know that right So, if we play it good and loud She might get up and dance again Ooh, she put her beer down Here she comes Here she comes Left left left right left Whoo
Husslers shootin' eight ball Throwin' darts at the wall Feelin' damn near 10 ft. tall Here she comes, Lord help us all Ol' T.W.'s girlfriend done slapped him outta his chair Poor ole boy, it ain't his fault It's so hard not to stare At that honky tonk badonkadonk Keepin' perfect rhythm Make ya wanna swing along Got it goin' on Like Donkey Kong And whoo-wee Shut my mouth, slap your grandma There outta be a law Get the Sheriff on the phone Lord have mercy, how'd she even get them britches on That honky tonk badonkadonk (Aww son)
Now Honey, you can't blame her For what her mama gave her It ain't right to hate her For workin' that money-maker Band shuts down at two But we're hangin' out till three We hate to see her go But love to watch her leave With that honky tonk badonkadonk Keepin' perfect rhythm Make ya wanna swing along Got it goin' on Like Donkey Kong And whoo-wee Shut my mouth, slap your grandma There outta be a law Get the Sheriff on the phone Lord have mercy, how'd she even get them britches on With that honky tonk badonkadonk (Ooh, that's what I'm talkin' bout right there, honey)
We don't care about the drinkin' Barely listen to the band Our hands, they start a shakin' When she gets the urge to dance Drivin' everybody crazy You think you fell in love Boys, you better keep your distance You can look but you can't touch That honkey tonk badonkadonk Keepin' perfect rhythm Make ya wanna swing along Got it goin' on Like Donkey Kong And whoo-wee Shut my mouth, slap your grandma There outta be a law Get the Sheriff on the phone Lord have mercy, how'd she even get them britches on That honky tonk badonkadonk
That honky tonk badonkadonk Yeah, that honky tonk badonkadonk
(That's it, right there boys, that's why we do what we do It ain't for the money, it ain't for the glory, it ain't for the free whiskey It's for the badonkadonk)

Hearing someone else enter, she realized it was Kari. Turning to her for a moment, she waved and smiled.
Blue eyes rested on Rayne again, though no sign of her usual smile was present. She realized that she likely sounded like a broken record by now. "You have someone, have family in your life. You have the choice to stick up for him, to protect him, to be there for him even if it is not what he wants in that moment. That is one thing I lack in my life. I cannot pretend to say I understand but I believe you are fortunate to have even one person to call family. What do I know though, right?" The last, of course, was rhetorical, but she felt it necessary to say.

"And you don't have anyone?" She looked annoyed a little bit as she took another bite out of the ice cream. "Is Reeve no one? Nothing but another person? You need to remember hun, Reeve and I are more like you than you think. I was left in a forest to die when I was just an infant My brother was found by my father while almost being stoned to death. At least you were dropped off somewhere with someone to take care of you." She had lost her cool while speaking, Ziven had hit a cord. She did not like self pity, nor did she like the past. She always focused on the now, the preasent, simply because the past was dark and done. She finished the ice cream and set it on the table. "Reeve is not my real brother, we share no blood. The only bond we hold is that we have shared experiances."

I look through the mirror And all that I see Is one crazy lonely sucker looking back at me I'm sitting here thinkin' Sittin' here drinkin bout you
I'm just a man on a mission Tryin to make some decision Oh what am I gonna do Cause I ain't going nowhere If I can't be some where with you boo boo boo
Ohh I'm just a man on a mission Tryin to make some decision Oh what am I gonna do Cause I ain't going nowhere If I can't be some where with you boo boo boo I'm just sitting here thinkin Sittin here drinkin bout you
