squirm scurried closer to the castle keeping silent, there wasn't much around and even thou it was damaged it was well fortified. it would be tricky to get inside it being so well protected, there was only one damaged area still needing a lot of construction but the guards would be well placed around it he figure to keep there home well protected.

as he scuttled for a closer look he spotted a man, unlike other. he looked as a knight did but the rags and scars he wore told him he was something different.

Standing up slowly and taking a deep breath, Zetsuei stepped off the roof of the building and vanished to reappear on a nearby building the vanishing once more. He was heading back to the temple where Maki was but to still give her time to the people who didnt trust him.

As Maki introduced Joan to Shinja, she gently helped him sit up as she rubbed her legs and tried to stand up. Though her legs were a little numb she was fine. She turned and held her hand out for Shinja.

"Well, I guess we should go find Katrea and Zetsuei," she said smiling before looking at Joan. "It has been great to see you Joan, but I know you're busy and I won't take up too much more of your time."

Maki paused a moment, "By the way? What exactly is going on here? ... I ... I remember a battle in the courtyard," she asked.

Joan still finding herself struggling for words to see her sister safe and back to normal just listened to her voice not really paying attention to what was said just so happy to have her little sister back. when she finally did realize what had been spoken she smiled to her and looked at shinja seeing this man had a strong relationship to maki.

"i am pleased to meet you shinji. you must forgive me it is a great relief to have my sister back after such an ordeal"

she placed a hand on her shoulder smiling once again to her a tear slightly moving down her cheek witch she quickly wiped away then stood to her feet.

"katrea is probably checking the perimeter. i doubt he will remember much about you thou, but he still cared enough for you to help you here. this battle came out of no where, unprovoked and caused much harm to my men. but are army is strong, itll take much more than that to beat my troops."

she looked away saddened.

" but now it seems that it was the new ruler of the al bhed forces that started this conflict and who are now readying for a full on war. i hate to think what this means for al of us and what it will do to my queen"



katrea walked around and saw a something run past and look at him. he was shocked that a fiend could get into the castle but it was bound to happen every now and then. katrea started a fast walk to the monster and pulled his weapons out a shield to his right and a short sword to his left. he jumped over and stood only a few feet from the monster and took a battle stance. squirm had little place to run and katrea inch his was closer. luckily the streets here were quiet and no one got in the way

As the guards knocked at the door and ask to come in deodoraan sat there finishing a few letters to those she new could aid them. the queen was already on her way to the ship but she looked over at the woman they brought in who stared at her.

"we have no need for a performer"

"no my lady this woman said she new the girl kali"

"indeed"

the other gaurds broght yarshea in to and deodoraan walked over to risa.

"is this true?"

deodoraan looked carefully at her.

"dont be so rough with her. GO! i will talk with this woman and young girl"

"but miss....."

"leave, if she is a part of this then im sure there would be little place for her to run now"

"as you wish lady deodoraan"

they let go of her arms and yarsheas then walked away back through the door as deodoraan poured a glass of wine for herself.

"we shall be right outside my lady"

"sounds like your not quite sure about this girl ether. like you dont know what shes capable of"

deodoraan watched risa look away a little ashamed.

"all i know is that a battle was thought here and i hear the al bhed might be creating there own little army to bring against us, that is why we are preparing are solider. you see we didnt ask for this war"

she walked over staring at the young yarsea then to risa carefully examining them both.

"im sorry but if you have anything to do with president kali or her faction you cannot be allowed to leave"

Shinja could do nothing but smile as Maki spoke, silently nodding his head once to acknowledge what she'd told him. He then took her hand and lifted himself up before brushing the dirt from his cloak with his gloved hands. "It is...a pleasure to meet you, Joan." Shinja turned his head, looking over his shoulder and noticing Zetsuei's absence. He then turned his head back to Maki and Joan before speaking.

"Maki...I know we've just now been reunited...but I have to take care of something." He then turned his body back towards the exit. "Again, it was nice to meet you, Joan." With that, Shinja began to walk in the direction of the exit as he sheathed the Kusanagi. "I won't be far from here. Stay out of trouble, Maki."

joan watched the man shinja leave then turned to maki seeing she had been in the dark for sometime.

"when the president died not long ago a search was made for his air, the next in line for their kingdom. when she was finally found i heard she actually was a god sent for her people."

"but perhaps power was to much for her and greed made her want to stretch her dominion and take Avardia as her own, its all a mystery why they did it, but he proof it happened is all around you. i only hope the queens army can face whatever they send at us"

"at the moment maki you just rest, its my job to train are soldiers, you need to recover"
