A lot more that his body would not be doing for her. Na'ima wasn't even slightly disappointed that they had not won, she had enjoyed the actual dancing if not so much her partner. If anything she was actually rather relieved to find the contest over. She felt Calder move toward her and a hand instinctively reached up. Calder's lips only met with the flash of her palm, bony arm extending to push the young stallion's face away from her. Other than that motion, Na'ima was the picture of calm and serenity. She had told him no. No means no. "You have about as much manners as young Hel," Na'ima sighed. Speaking of Hel. Na'ima looked up as names were being called out. King, queen, princess, prince.. heh Jester. Suitable. "Well, Calder. I think it is time I take my leave and find my escorts." She released him and gave the kelpie a low bow. "Perhaps our paths will cross again someday," and perhaps next time he would learn the meaning of the word no. Children these days. Rude! With that she finally turned and left, stopping only to pick her shoes up off the floor. Ah! There was one! "Jing, I apologize for the delay. I hope I have not kept you waiting terribly...where did you find a rabbit?"

"Mhmm. She was very happy, too. Though, they always say that life is never easy, but in the end it's the bumps in the road you remember. If it were smooth and perfect, it would hardly be worth remembering." She reaches to get her own bit of punch, careful not to spill any on her dress. "I've met a few people here and there, mostly in passing. I think everyone's too excited about prom to pay much attention, and I can't blame them. This seems to be a huge thing. I even stopped by the photobooth earlier. It'll be neat to compare this years photo to next, you know?"

It would have been so much easier to fly over the crowd to find the people she was looking for, but Taima was well aware how short the skirt of her dress was--an oversight on her part--and looking down at everyone's heads would do her little good anyway. The only other option had been to go straight into it and hope something about these largely unknown faces rang somehow familiar. It was a long shot, but the alternative was giving up and going home, and that was absolutely unacceptable; if nothing else, Taima had put too much effort into her outfit to let it go to waste. With great reluctance, Taima steeled herself and edged into the crowd, slipping into the spaces between other people whenever she was able. She cringed every time someone bumped into her or brushed against her wings. She hated crowds, was never less comfortable than when she was trapped within the crush of other people. There was no room to move there, no way for her to spread her wings and escape into the blissfully empty and open air. It was a testament to the voracity of her curiosity about the other Blues that she was enduring it at all. However, even Taima could only take so much before distress and mounting frustration won out. She hadn't seen anyone she recognized outside of classes, her wings were being handled entirely too much, and she had been stepped on no fewer than three times. It was time to get out, now, before she lost it completely and shifted into her natural form right there on the dance floor. Her fraying temper was accompanied by a loss of control, and the next poor and unfortunate student who bumped into her received a minor jolt upon contact. They glared at Taima, who returned it with interest, but got out of her way. Well, that would work too. Electricity arced between Taima and the people who happened to be too close to her as she slowly carved a path out of the crowd with irritating shocks, leaving annoyed students in her wake and not giving an ounce of a damn. Taima was a little more at ease once she popped out of the crowd. She took a few deep breaths to steady still-rattled nerves before heading to the door. She'd get some air and regroup, maybe wander around outside for a while before trying to find Nuk and the--oh. Taima's narrow shoulders slumped a little in relief as she spotted the skinwalker. She made a beeline towards him, giving a wide berth to the clusters of people between them, and finally stopped in front of him--but not too close, as she didn't want to shock him with the now-infrequent sparks still emitting from her skin. "Hi," she said, giving him a somewhat tired smile to counter his scowl. "Have you been here long? Have you found any of the others?" Taima asked, as business-first as always.

Still feeling the effects of the drink that made her feel quite mellow, Riley very slowly turned when her name was called. She put down the drink, and bent in to nuzzle Malodore. I believe I have won something. She practically purred out. Will you excuse me for a moment? She blinked up at Jericho, her expression lazy and content. I'll be back for both of you soon enough.
So far, this prom was turning out rather well. Malodore was right; participating in an event of this size, rather than running it, was a soothing and enjoyable experience. She attributed her current zen qualities to that fact, as she was still completely unaware that her drink was at fault. But who could blame her? It was a lovely feeling.
She took to the dance floor, and continued across it, pressing her hand gently against Hel's shoulder when she found the ghoul. Dance with me, Jester? She offered lazily. Her voice was slow, murky, and with it came a feeling of unnatural calm and lack of inhibition.

"Your cake first look quite delicious. Perhaps I shall go take a piece myself later on." He smiled and nodded at Eira. "I will be sure to tell her then." TK eyed Alice carefully, but rather than speak up he remained silent. The skeleton boil reached for his drink. It tasted like tea, which he enjoyed quite a bit, but this... He relaxed his shoulders and leaned into his seat. "If either of you would like some of my food I am more than happy to share," he offered. When he smiled again it was more loose than his usual. "Perhaps a dance would not be so bad," he admitted after some thought.

Having exited the DJ some time ago, Poke watched with interest the namiming of the prom court, as well as the senior of the year. They were all good choices, and she had no issues with it.
As she had a little time on her hands, the dragone exited the tent for now, to check out the other festivites

Marosa was more than content to stay against the wall, watching what others were doing as he fidgeted with his fingers behind his back. He wasn't used to social gatherings like this, but he didn't want to leave Yaya by herself - more often than not Sharra was busier than he was, at times. He found himself missing the boil, despite his mixed up feelings.
"Ah, oi'm sorreh. Oi'm just... nay used tae dancing, or anything similar tae that..."
"Naut as pretty as ye are." He gave a smile at the kiss and her compliment, an eyebrow arching. "Oi'd say oi have tae believe ye, seeing as how ye haven't touched me as of yet. Oi'm not used tae receiving compliments as such, either." Letting out a breath, he grasped one of her hands and pressed his cheek against her palm, eyes closing for the briefest of moments.
"Oi thank ye."

"No need to apologize," she reminded him, shaking her head and sending black bangs tickling along her cheek. "We'll dance a little later, a proper dance, and I'll lead." She was a good dancing partner, patient and accommodating. She wouldn't force him into anything he couldn't handle, but that didn't mean she wouldn't push him a little. It wasn't hard to make an amateur look as though they knew what they were doing, it just took a little extra skill on the part of their partner. The compliment had the djinn smiling, and it grew all the wider as her own compliment was well received. "Why would I lie to you?" Her thumb brushed along his cheek as he nuzzled into her palm, and she was sorely tempted to remove the glove, to feel that rush of endorphin that came with Marosa's unique natural abilities. She resisted though, for now, and instead stepped in so she could wrap her free arm around his waist,, head nestling under his chin as she watched the prom court being announced. "You don't have to thank me, Dearheart." It was funny to think that barely a month ago she'd felt such great dislike for the boil. She knew part of the change was the effect he could have on her, his magic, but the rest was just him. How he acted around her or Sharra, or both. So shy at times, it was terribly endearing.

Jove spotted the little wendigo and gave her a wave back, relieved she made it to the refreshment table. It was the perfect place for her, provided she didn't find a way to eat EVERYTHING. She was so small, but he wouldn't have put it past her to try... At least now she was only nibbling. He grabbed another spookie for himself, and munched contentedly until he heard it. It was like a recurring nightmare. Suddenly, for the second year, Jove choked on a spookie as he heard his name called. Thankfully inhaling was much the same as swallowing for the young ghost. It all ended up in the same place anyway. He blushed brightly as the spotlight finally found him, and gave his friends an apologetic wave before heading up onto stage, to have his fancy top hat replaced by a princely crown. He tried to ignore his brother's fanghouling in the background, and wandered over to Amarus. He knew there was an expected dance coming up, but thankfully he was in his teen form this year! He didn't have to look like a complete shrimp next to the pink-haired ghoul.

"Brenley! Hey!"
Piper had, up until that point, been skulking in the back of the tent, nursing her blue plastic ball from the funhouse like it was her scareling to her chest while the prom court was announced. The mage's hair swung in its segmented ponytail as she approached, smiling.
Thank Jack, too. Now she didn't have to think about Kettil and Freya's weird practice wedding.
"Finally, someone I know!" Piper chirped. "How's the night been?"

" Felicitazioni!" Malodore exclaimed, delighted; it returned the nuzzle and allowed Riley to drift off, though it kept an eye on her nevertheless. Ah, she was going to Hel. That was probably safe. It trusted the Valkyrie implicitly. Instead, it turned to the dragon. "Do you wish to do something, in the meantime? Dance as well, perhaps?"

Mac was saved from being b***h the ghoul for now…and well, Hel was rather stunned to say the least as her name was announced…for Jester. She stood there for few moments before she looked back at her date and laughed. “This is going on my resume. Be right back again.” She announced, and followed after her fellow peers before Riley found her. Hel blinked, pausing in fiddling with the bells on her ‘crown’ at the tone of the Demoness’ voice. She sounded…different! Not in a bad way, but different. “Ya, of course!” She replied, and took Riley’s hand, leading her to the floor…Hel just went ahead and took charge because well… why not. Riley seemed impaired. “Congratulations, Miss Senior.” She sang, grinning lightly.

"Oi'd like that. A proper dance." Nodding in affirmation, the faerie then shook his head at her second question, sending curls loose from his hair. He glanced up at them and sighed; it couldn't be helped. His hair was just unruly.
"Nay. At least, oi dinnae think ye would, even tae spare me. Ye have no reason to." His eyes widened as she stepped closer, arms wrapping around her as he rested his head on hers. That was a new pet name for him, and the faerie actually found that he liked it. Dearheart. It was cute.

Christof watched from the sidelines, surprised when Riley was not made King... but things had changed, and he beamed when she was crowned Student of the Year. Considering all she had gone through, it was appropriate. He hovered, ready to watch the dance and catch her to congratulate her once he got a chance....
... but also eyed Amrita and Aymet up at the front of the goings on, his stomach still in knots. He wished he could drink or eat, it would give him something to do. The worst thing in the world was to feel useless, and it was driving him insane. Maybe they'd need help cleaning up later. That he could do.

Willow had taken forever to pick out an outfit. Eventually settling on a yellow princess style hanfu. Her tail was flickering as she'd managed to do her hair and well she was fashionably late to the prom. She'd taken matching shoes that she actually wasn't use to walking in, she'd been wading through the crowd when she ended up with her shoes tangling in her dress and tripping right into Shaheen.
"ACK!" The Byakko couldn't help but squawk. "I'm so sorryyy..." She was trying to untangle herself quickly from the war horsewoman. Hoping she hadn't made the other mad.
