Stryker heard a scratching sound but dismissed it. He wanted to get a few more minutes of sleep before heading on to the next town. He hear the sound again but this time much closer and when he turned his head he got a face full of fur and claws. Pulling the squirrel off his face he went to toss it to another branch when he lost his balance. Him, the squirrel, backpack and sword came plummeting down from the tree. He hit the ground and the air was knocked out of him. Turning to the side he gasped for air as he grabbed his sword to make sure it was okay. He had no clue what he would do without it if it broke. When his head stopped ringing his senses started buzzing, warning of something nearby. Looking up he was surprised to see to people staring at him.

Mizuki snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the sounds of things fall to the ground, causing the shadows around the squirrel dissipate. She looked towards where she heard the sounds, listening intently. She heard the squirrel squeaking, then running off. She knew that the squirrel couldn't of been the only thing that fell, so she kept listening. When she heard the sound of a man breathing, her form stiffened. She said coldly, "Who the hell are you?"

Stryker quickly stood with his sword sheathed but available in case things got out of hand. "I would ask the same thing but you asked first. So, I'm Stryker Rin and I just fell out of a tree. You?" He asked. He tried to be light and breezy but it was hard when he still couldn't get his breathing right. I probably landed on a tree root. He thought to himself.

Mizuki's posture relaxed a bit as she heard the man's voice. She tilted her head to the side a bit when he finished speaking, a blank expression on her face as she held back laughter. After a few seconds, Mizuki couldn't help but giggle at the last bit. She then shook her head, "I never said I'd tell you who I was." She replied.

He looked her over as she giggled and decide that things were good between them. Swinging the sword over his head he adjusted the strap and smiled up at her. "Yeah, but it seems like something nice to do after witnessing a guy fall out of a tree. Which, by the way, was very comfortable until a squirrel clawed my face." He brought his hand up to a stinging scratch and his hand came away with a feeble amount of blood.

Mizuki got an unamused expression on her face. She looked towards the ground and smirked a bit. She held her right arm out in front of her, and her palm faced Stryker. She clenched her hand into a fist, using her power over darkness to generate and solidify some shadows in the shape of her fist in front of his stomach. She quickly pulled her arm back, and punched forward, making the solidified shadows move in the same fashion, attempting to hit him. As she attempted to hit him, she said, "I didn't witness anything, and I don't appreciate your attitude."

Stryker jumped back in surprise. Confused by her sudden change he pulled his sword out of it's sheath. As it came out blue fire covered the blade. He held it in front of him and took another step back. "I'm sorry if you don't think it's nice to introduce yourself to someone you've met. Now I don't want to fight but I won't be able to say those same words when my demon side shows it's ugly face. So can we get back to friendly greetings? I won't be able to control it much longer." As he spoke he gritted his teeth and really did try to fight the demon inside him. It smelled a fight and wanted to come out. Stryker gripped the sword tighter and let his tail come out from under his shirt. The tip flickered with the same blue fire. He bit his lip and took another step back. "Please. I don't want to fight. I don't want to hurt people."

Mizuki heard Stryker's tail come out from under his shirt and the tip of it start flickering with fire."I have no desire to fight," She said, and simultaneously used her power over darkness to instinctively merge herself with the shadows in the forest. She appeared behind Stryker, and attempted to grip his tail, "but I have a demon side, of sorts, too. And what you said really ticked me off. I happen to not like your attitude either, reminds me of people that just tick me off." She added, simultaneously to her appearing.

Stryker lashed around and struck the ground in front of her with his sword. His tail flicking to and fro, cracking like a whip with every direction change. His ear and fangs elongated as horn came through his hair covered in the same eerie blue fire. When he spoke his voice was deeper and there was a slight hiss to it. "Fine. If you don't want to stop then I will, because I'm not about to kill someone else." Standing up straight he brought the sword up and put the tip against his chest. He had only does this once before but then it was after he had killed someone. He had to stop himself before the demon side took him out for more blood. "Just remember, diagonally and between the third and fourth rib is where you find the heart." He said before pushing it all the way through. Blood seeped down the front of his shirt as he fell to his knees. He took a deep breath and all the demon stuff went away except for his tail. Then his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he fell to his side.

Mizuki stared towards Stryker for a few moments, ever so confused. She then plopped to the ground, letting out a disappointed sigh, "Well, that's no fun." She said as she looked towards the sky, "I didn't even get to do anything!" She frowned, "I had a feeling it was going to be entertaining too." She smacked Stryker on the head, "Idiot. What made you think I was going to die?"

Stryker eyes opened and grunted. 'Being stabbed by your own sword hurts' He thought to himself. He sat up and gave the irl a stink eye before slowly pulling the sword out and then cleaning it on his sleeve. "It doesn't matter whether you die or not. My demon side does like a challenge but he likes blood more. He would have left you to go pick off easier prey to devour. It happened once before and I was not going to let it happen again." He cleaned the last spot of blood and sheathed his sword. He got up with his teeth grinding together. He was sure it would heal just fine like it did last time. Then grabbed his pack from the bottom of the tree he fell out of. Turning back to her he began to speak. "I am sorry if my attitude is not to your liking, but it is not a reason for anyone to get into a fight." He stopped a moment when he felt something. He felt it every time he went past a church or words of prayer. Being curious and wanting to leave he spoke again. "It could have been nice to meet you miss whoever but now I will be leaving." He turned in the direction the boy and girl had been walking without realizing and let the feeling tug him toward what ever was going on.

Mizuki went over to Raiko and grabbed his hand. She then proceeded to pull him along, with the help of the shadows pushing him from behind. She ran after Stryker, "Mizuki." She stated simply, then moved on to another sentence, "And for the record, I wouldn't of let him escape."

Stryker sighed. "You probably wouldn't have but I would never take a chance to find out. Not being able to control my demon side yet has led to the death of two people and that burden is heavy enough." He ran his finger over were the squirrel claw marks used to be and then went to check his chest but couldn't see through the blood. Putting his pack and sword in one hand he wiggled half way out of it before switching the bags and doing the same. He used the dry part of his shirt to clean the blood away then bunched it up in his hands and it burst into blue fire. The flame sputtered out when the shirt was reduced to nothing but ash that he let fall to the ground. Noticing the stab wound was already scabbed over he turned slightly to the right in the direction his sense was taking him. Not worrying weather or not Mizuki and her friend followed.

Mizuki giggled, "You're not much of a demon are you?" She asked. She shook her head, continuing to follow Stryker whilst pulling Raiko along. She continued onto another sentence without waiting for Stryker to respond, "Where are you going anyways?"

Stryker grimaced when she pointed out the obvious. It wasn't normal to not want to fight and kill. Then again he wasn't full demon so he had a reason to be different. Stryker like to think it was his mother trying to help him and keep him from going over the edge and never coming back. She's the one who keeps him from letting his demon side take over. "I don't know where exactly. I'm just following a feeling that seems out of place in the middle of the forest. A fae instinct I have."
