Victoria didn't smile at Aria's joke about punching him. It was uncalled for, and had only made him angrier, she knew. She sighed as they began driving, and she winced when Dante asked to be let out of the car, in a not so nice way. She could hear him trying to unlock the door, and she turned around in her seat, worry and concern once again taking up her feelings. "Dante, no." She said it softly, and watched him get out of the car, telling the cars to screw themselves. She didn't know if that was exactly what it was or who he was even talking to, because Dante's words were slurred and you could barely tell what he had said. "Stop, Dante! We need to take you home." She put down her window and yelled at him, tears once again sliding down her face as she watched him walk farther and farther away from them. She gave up a few minutes later, slowly putting her window back up as she sat in her seat quietly, silent. She didn't know what to do anymore now that he was gone.

Daren sighed when he saw Dante get out of the car, and he didn't dare try to pull him back in. The guy was already furious at everyone, and his point was proven when Dante told the cars to screw themselves. One of them honked back in response, but nothing else. He closed his eyes and leaned forward, taking off his seat belt. "Aria, go after him." He said quietly. He might not have liked the guy, but he knew Victoria was crying once again and didn't need to not get any sleep because of the @sshole. He nodded and pointed at Dante, who was walking unsteadily in the middle of the street, trying to cross it. "I doubt he even knows where he is going. Just talk him out of it and get him back in the car, or at least try. He needs help. I'll take over driving. We have to hurry though, the light is going to change." He said all of these words in a matter of fact way, and glanced up at the streetlight, which was still red. He hoped Aria would get Dante, but there was no guarantee she would go after him at all.

Aria watched as Dante made his way out of the car. God, he's stupid. "Hey! Get your drunk self back in here!!!" she yelled. She could hear him yelling at cars as he tried to cross the street. Victoria had started crying again and she heard Daren tell her to go after him. She hated seeing him like this but at this point, what could she do? He knew exactly what he was and wasn't supposed to do. He had been his own man for a while now, and nothing Aria said could penatrate an ego like Dante's. He thought he could handle everything. The light changed and Aria's eyes went blank, though there was a small hint of pity and sadness for the guy she called her brother. "I'm not going after that douche." she said monotonously. She pulled off and turned the corner. "Victoria. Where do you want to go? I can take you home, but you can stay at my house if you want." She didn't expect the girl to answer her. Actually, she expected Victoria to drill her about not caring about Dante.

Dante stumbled across the street and tripped over the curb. He wandered the side of the street and sat down. He saw one of the people in the cars on a phone. They kept looking at him and at the street signs. As they hung up they began to drive away but yelled at Dante. "Have fun sitting in jail! a*****e!" the guy drove off and turned the corner. Dante didn't react and sat on the cold hard ground, trying to sober up a little, but it wasn't going so well. He threw up to his side and lifted his head to see red and blue lights coming his way. No, no, no! Dante's mind yelled as he got up and started to run. He tripped over a couple of bench legs that were sticking out. After he flipped over the one and hit his face he stood back up. The alcohol and fresh head wound wasn't helping him escape. He heard the cop car behind him stop and one of the officers yell as he chased Dante. "Freeze!" he yelled as he got closer. Dante picked up speed and ran down an alley. He jumped over a knocked down trash can. He came to a fence and saw the cop catching up. It's either climb or go to jail. Dante told himself as he grabbed the fence. As he was going over the cop tried to grab his foot. Dante shook free and ran. He didn't know where he was going so he turned down street after street. As he came to the end of the one street he saw a car slide to a stop. The door flew open and Dante was tackled to the ground. He felt a few blows to the face as a voice began to yell. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do..." after he heard this he began to struggle. The second cop ran up and shot Dante with the taser. After the sudden shock Dante complied as he was thrown into the back of the cop car.

After a short drive to the station, Dante went in for processing, and was thrown around like a rag doll. "Get in the cell." a guard said as they shoved Dante's drunken self into the small holding cell. "You're lucky the cop didn't press charges. But that's only because you're mother and doctor are coming to get you." Dante looked at the guard in shock. He wasn't sure if he was shocked about no charges or the fact that things were getting much worse. The guard walked away and Dante curled his legs up to his chest as he sat on the cement slab. He stared out the bars and felt like a caged animal. He knew that Jacobs was going to put him in the hospital. The fact that he was going to rehab started to sober him up.

Daren sighed as she screamed out the window for Dante to get himself back here, knowing that would do nothing to help. He slowly sat down in the back seat once more. There was nothing else any of them could do, and when Aria began driving once again, he gave up. He stared out the window as he watched a cop car with flashing lights hurl down the street, making cars honk and try to get out of the way. Somehow, he comprehended that the cop car was meant for Dante, but he said nothing. He didn't want to make Victoria more upset, and besides, the girl wasn't stupid. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the seat, going over the events of the night. Dante had ruined it, he thought, fury ripping through him. If the guy hadn't drank the whole bottle, it would be okay. He couldn't blame any of it on Victoria, because she hadn't started fights. Why couldn't the guy see that she was only looking out for him? She cared about him more than anyone else, and he just ignored it tonight. These thoughts swirled in Daren's head as he listened to Aria ask Victoria whether she wanted her to take her home or stay with them. He was hoping Victoria would choose to go home, because he wanted to talk alone with Aria later on.

Victoria saw the cop car go down the street, but she remained motionless. She could only think about Dante, and what he had gotten himself into. She turned slowly in her seat, trying to get her lips to move. "Actually, Aria..please take me to Dante's. I'm not going to go in his house or anything, I just want to..wait until he comes back." Having no idea that he was in jail, she hoped that Dante's mother came by the house later on. She would stay on the porch if she had to, as long as she was sure where Dante had gone and could not worry about him anymore. She glanced down at her hands. "And if you don't take me there, I'll walk." She said boldly, but not feeling confident at all.

"Reynolds." a man said as Dante woke up. He was still groggy and his eyes were blurry. "Reynolds!" Dante stood up and fell over. He wasn't as drunk now, but the alcohol had been replaced by something much worse...the hangout and his mother. "You have one more chance Reynolds! Don't make me come in there." Dante managed over to the cell door and was yanked out. He was dragged and pushed down the hallway to another set of doors. "You're lucky I don't want to get fired. I would be kicking you down this hallway if I could." Dante looked at the officer who was handling him. It was the same one that was chasing him. "Eff you pig." Dante smirked at the police officer. Dante quickly hit the ground as the officer shook his fist. He wiped Dante's blood from his knuckles. Dante stood back up and laughed. "You hit like a woman." The cop cocked his fist back again and Dante shook his head instead. "That's enough rookie." the chief said as he grabbed Dante and pulled him through the doors. The chief walked him to the counter where his mother and Dr. Jacobs were standing. Jacobs looked furious and his mother didn't look to happy either. His mother slide the paper work across the counter and Dante stood in silence with a grin on his face. His mother looked at him and angrily shouted. "Wipe that damn smirk off your face." The chief looked at his mother and said something. His mother nodded and the chief hit him in the stomach with the baton. Dante made an umph sound and ate the blow as if it were nothing. The door to the lobby opened and Dante was released. Jacobs to the door and grabbed Dante by the arm.

"I warned you Dante." Jacobs drug him out of the station and put him into the caged van. "It's only for a short time. Thirty days of inpatient slash outpatient treatment. If you thought jail would be bad wait until you get here." Jacobs climbed in the van next to Dante and shut the door. "The only nice thing about this is the facility you'll be staying at. Other than that you'll be treated like a prisoner basically, but in a ethical and nourishing manner."
Dante looked at Jacobs and laughed. "You don't know about being a prisoner you ******** slob. Until you're a prisoner of your own mind you have nothing to say." Dante spit blood onto the van floor.
"All right Charles lets go." Jacobs told the driver. He turned to Dante. "Why couldn't you just leave it alone?"
"I'm my own man. I make my own decisions. You can only deter them." Dante wiped his mouth with his sleeve.
"That's what you think. But let me tell you this. You mess up again and you're in jail. I'll let them charge you with everything and anything." Jacobs fixed his glasses.
"Can we just enjoy this car ride? I'm not my brother. I'm not going to sing like a bird like that damn pansy." Dante turned and looked out the window and ignored Jacobs.
"Maybe you'll sing to you're friends? After all you may need to apologize to them." Jacobs gave him the phone.
Dante looked at it and thought. He didn't even dare to think about calling Victoria. He knew that he messed up big and that there was a chance Aria wouldn't talk to him. He decided to take the risk and call her anyway.

Come on Aria. Pick up. he thought as the line rang.

Arai nodded to Victoria and the corners of her mouthed hinted at a smile even though the situation was grim. "Could you really make it back to his place? It's almost dark you know." She rounded the corner; this car drove like a charm. She wondered if Dante would let her borrow it. Focus Ari, this is serious. She glanced back at Daren to make sure he wasn't upset or angry. Too late... She reached Dante's house and pulled into the driveway. "Here we are, Chez Douchebag." She then felt her phone vibrating and took it out of her pocket, expecting someone else to call. When she saw it was Dante, she flipped it open. "Hello douche. So didya get picked up?"

"Yeah. And now I'm going to prison rehab apparently." he looked over at Jacobs and mouthed a few nasty words and started to talk again. "Can you take care of my car? Oh and take care of Victoria? I know I messed up Aria. So don't remind me please. Oh and I'm sorry. To all of you." Dante said this in a manner that was somewhat sincere. He was sorry but he wanted to apologize on his terms not Jacobs. He sat in silence as he listened. He heard talking in the back ground and figured that Daren and Vicy was still with her. "I'm not going to be back for a while. It's a thirty day in and outpatient thing." Dante lastly said before silencing again and waited for Aria. He didn't know what she would say let alone tell him.

Aria just sighed heavily. She wasn't going to yell at him for messing up, at least until he got his life together...maybe a few years. "Hellz yeah I'll take care of your car. Seriously Dante that thing is great, you should get me one." She said this slightly jokingly and slightly not; she did kind of want a car. "It's cool. About Victoria. Well, she wants to wait for you on your porch so...what do you want me to tell her?" She had shrugged the apology off; she'd had enough apologies for a lifetime.

Dante laughed a little. "Tell her to bring enough food for thirty days." Jacobs looked at Dante and tapped his watch. They were almost to the rehab and that's when Dante realized that this wasn't a joking manner. His almost good mood went to the dumps and anger started to fill him again. "Listen. Tell her that I have to go and will call her if she wants me too. Oh and tell her that I..." Dante stopped mid sentenced and searched for the word. He refused to use it and so he went a different route. "Tell her that I enjoy being around her. I have to go now." Dante hung up the phone and looked to Jacobs.

"You didn't tell them what I wanted you to Dante." Jacobs' words jumped on him like a lion on it's prey. "You didn't give them a sincere apology. Nor did you tell them why you did it." Jacobs took his glasses off.
"Apologize? Tell them why? Jacobs both know the reasons to those. I already told you that this rehab isn't going to work. You may have started to gain control of my brother, but I gotta warn you, I'm a whole different kind of fire."

The van pulled into the starts of a driveway hidden by trees. There was a rather large gate and the driver had to gain access to open it.
How can I help you? the box asked the driver.
"One level five patient in transport." the driver said.
Level five? Are you- the box silenced. Okay we'll be ready. the box continued.

The large gate opened and the van drove to the facility. Jacobs wasn't lying when he said it was a luxurious rehab. Dante had seen these kind of facilities on television. He always laughed at the fact that they tried to hide the problems and darkness of the patients by masking it with something that they considered peaceful and serene. Large trees, vibrant green grass, gardens, fountains, and everything else that you could use to hide the fact that you had a problem. The van stopped in front of the doors and three large men came out. Dante looked at them through the window and was amazed. "What'd they do? Hire the 'roid abusers that they treat?" he said out loud and laughed. The opened the door to the van and two of them each grabbed Dante's arms respectively. The third stood in front of him and began to explain the procedure.
"When you step inside you will visit the doctor. He will evaluate you. Second the nurse will take tests and blood. If you fight you will be punished. Third you will follow the orders you are given. We are here for your safety and health." the man said as if he was reciting the same lines for the thousandth time. "What ev juice head." Dante said as he laughed in his face. The other two took him into the doctor's room.

The doctor looked at Dante and began to write things down. "Level five? We haven't had a level five in years. Have a seat Mr. Reynolds." the doctor motioned to the seat.
Dante plopped down. "What's a level five mean?" he asked.
"That you're pretty much four things. One practically dead. Two a fighter. Three a severe case that needs immediate help. And four a special request by Doctor Jacobs." the man said as he fixed his glasses. "So it says here you have a history of violence, alcoholism in an extreme case, severe behavioral problems, you're mentally unstable, and oh you have a nasty temper on you. Is all of this true?" he asked Dante in a testing manner.
"Hell no!" Dante shouted. "I may be everything else, but I am definitely not mentally unstable." Dante balled up his fist.
"Mmmhm." the man said. "I've seen all that I need to see." He buzzed the nurse.

A slender red headed woman with curves walked in the room. She looked just a tad bit older than Dante, maybe by a few years, but a lot more professional. She looked over at Dante and became white as a ghost. Dante stood up and looked her dead in the eyes. "Michelle? You gotta be joking." he said as the nurse walked over to him. "Come on Mr. Reynolds." she said leading him out of the room. "It's Nurse Huntington to you." she said taking him to the evaluation room.

Victoria was relieved when Aria nodded, telling her silently that she would take her. She shrugged at her comment. "I'll be fine." But clearly her words were unsure, and she took a deep breath. She started getting out of the car until she heard Aria's phone beginning to vibrate. She turned back, her eyes watching and hopeful as she prayed to hear Dante's voice on the other end of the line. She flinched when Aria called him a nickname she hated hearing, but continued to listen. She wanted to hear that Dante was okay, and she could stop worrying. She could only catch a few words, like prison rehab, thirty days, and her own name. When she learned that he wasn't going to be back, tears once again welled up in her eyes and she stayed in the car, not bothering to get out. She silently listened in to the conversation, and shot Aria an irritated look when she joked around about Dante getting her a car. She couldn't believe that the girl was joking at a time like this. She bit her lip and waited until they were off the phone, and her eyes held sadness as she looked into Aria's own. "What did he say?" She asked, but already had a good idea what had gone down.

Daren shook his head as he heard most of the conversation. "Good job, Dante," He muttered sarcastically. The whole idea was stupid; they should have never gone bowling. He took a deep breath and continued looking out the window, not bothering to say anything else. There wasn't anything more to say, anyway.

Dante just looked at the nurse, as he sat int he chair, not once loosing contact with her eyes.

"Why are you working here Michelle?" he said as his armed was gently grabbed by the woman. She put the needle into Dante's arm and began to draw blood. "Apparently to take care of people like you. Dante how did you end up in here?" she asked as she sat down in front of him and grabbed his hand.
"It's in the file. I don't feel like talking about that. But what I do want to talk about is why I ever gave you up." Dante looked the nurse up and down with a grin on his face.
"You just stopped calling. I thought we were through so I moved on." the nurse took the needle out of his arm and put a bandage on it.
"How far did you move to?" Dante asked with an implying manner.
"To singleness. What are you trying to get at Dante?" she asked as she moved the slender black framed glasses down.
"I'll let that to you to find out." Dante picked up her hand and kissed it with a slight passion.
The nurse blushed and pulled her hand away. "I don't want to get fired. I'll pull you later from recreation. We may need to run some more tests." she said and disguised the meaning of the last word.

Dante stood up and Ms. Huntington led him to the next process. She brought him to the counter of the main lobby of the facility. "This is Mr. Reynolds. He needs to be shown his room and other new patient procedures." The man at the desk nodded and came around the corner. "Oh and he's level five." the nurse turned around and went the opposite direction. The man stopped and froze and he face went pale. "Please cut me a break. I"m not ready for this." the man led Dante and made sure to keep an eye on him. He led Dante down various hallways and gave him the tour. Dante didn't really pay close attention because he could care less. Finally the man led him to a room with shatter proof glass windows and a full size bed. It was a fairly large one person room. "Here we are. Read the papers on the bed. Come to the recreation room in one point five hours." the guy turned around and quickly ran out of the room.

Dante looked everything over. He could tell that it was too good to be true. You just didn't get this type of hospitality without paying a price. Dante figured that the price was not only money but treatment wise. He looked over the papers and his eyes widened when he saw one line. You're time in the treatment facility depends on the effort you give. Less effort = more time, less time = more effort. Please be sure to be cooperative. "Crap." Dante said knowing that his plan was going to fail now. It was either tell them what they wanted or he would be in there forever.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 6:13 pm

Aria made a disapproving face and then snapped her phone shut. She noticed that Victoria didn't move to get out of the car and she immediately knew that the girl had heard some if not all of the conversation. She gave a small smile to Daren's statement as she started the car again. "Well, he said tha you could stay at his house, but to get enough food for thirty days. He also said that he'd call if you wanted him too and that he enjoys being around you." She nodded, happy that she'd remembered his exact words. She then glanced in her rear view mirror to make sure there were no cars. "So Vic, whatdaya wanna do?"

Victoria took a deep breath when she heard this, and turned to glance up at the house, not knowing what to say for a moment. "Just..can I stay with you?" She had to hold back more tears as she glanced back, hoping Daren didn't hate her for this. "If you guys don't want me to stay, you can just take me home. I don't want to be alone though." She bit her lip, her words choked as she leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes. She felt like an idiot. She should have never suggested anything, they should have just stayed at the house. Nothing could have happened to him then, right?

Daren sighed, knowing what Aria had said to her would make her change her mind instantly. He wouldn't get the chance to talk to Aria, but he shrugged it off. He forced a smile towards Victoria when she glanced back at him, and he saw the sad tears in her eyes. His gaze immediately softened and he felt bad for her, even guilty to not want her to stay. He stayed silent, thinking about tonight as he felt Aria start the car. He could see her smile at his statement about Dante, and he only shrugged back at her. There was nothing any of them could do, even if all of them wished everything had been different.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 7:03 pm

Dante trudged down the hallways and peered into various rooms. He noticed people who looked like bags of bones and others who were in balls just shaking from withdrawals. He wasn't sure if he would get that bad, but didn't like the thought that it was a possibility. He finally made it into the recreation room where various people were sitting. All of them had some sort of literature in their hands. Most of which were about becoming clean and seemed like forced literature. Or just an escape from the life they lived in here. Dante sat down at the table and started to fiddle at his hands. The main doctor on the floor came into the room and sat across from him.

"How are you feeling Mr. Reynolds?" the older man asked him as he had a chart in his hands.
"How do you think I feel? Do you think I feel like a million dollars? Do you think I feel like scum? How do you feel doc. How do you feel knowing that you have a level five on your floor? You're probably scared as crap right now aren't you?" Dante began to raise his voice to the doctor.
The doctor shifted in his seat. He took a syringe with a thick fluid in it. "I don't want to use this Dante. Just explain why you're so upset. That's all I want." the doctor kept his hand on the needle.
"Because I don't want to be here. Because I want a drink." Dante sat back in his chair giving in to man.
"Why do you drink Dante?" the doctor began to write.
"Because I can't deal with this s**t hole thing we call society. I can't deal with the fact that my friend died in my hands. I can't deal with the fact that my brother died as a result of drugs. I can't accept the fact that I can't escape from the wickedness that I cause myself." Dante finally broke open. His last sentence got him thinking.
"Then why drink and make it worse?" the doctor wrote furiously.
"Because I want to escape. I want to feel normal. I want to feel good." Dante said.
"But you end up angry, mean, violent, and like you're brother." The doctor told him.
"How do you know about Jake?" Dante demanded.
"He was the first and only level five until you showed up." the doctor stopped writing when he saw Ms. Huntington come in. "Go ahead and get those tests done. We'll talk tomorrow." the doctor got up and walked out the room.

Dante stood up and followed the nurse. They went into the room and she locked the doors.
"Dante why are you doing this? You told me you moved on." she said holding his hand.
"I want to move back then." Dante was trying his hardest. He couldn't wait for things to be admitted any longer. He was going to move on without Victoria. "I never meant to lose you. I was just confused." Dante went in for the kiss and only got a check.
"How can I trust you? How do I know you're not lying?" Michelle looked in his eyes.
"You trusted me before. So why not now. You know you still want to see me." this time he landed the kiss.
She stopped him. "Dante you have one last chance. I'm not sure why I'm doing this but I can't fight any longer." she hugged him. "Just don't leave me again." she said.
"Oh I won't. When I get out I'll make sure things go back to the way they were." Dante smiled her head rested on his shoulder. He didn't plan on trying again. He just wanted a quick fix of compassion since he couldn't find it else where.

They heard a knock at the door and Michelle opened the door. "It's time for Mr. Reynolds to take his medication." a man said as Dante walked out. Dante followed the guy and turned his head around. He smiled at Michelle and turned his gaze back to the counter they were headed towards. "What are these pills?" Dante asked before taking them. "To help fight the symptoms you'll be feeling from withdrawal. Plus it'll clean your system." Dante shrugged and took the pills. He headed to his room and a short while later found out what clean your system meant as he hung his head in the toilet.

Aria smiled and pulled out of Dante's driveway. "Yeah, you can crash at my place. Maybe I'll act like an actual girl for once." She drove down the street and made a left and then glanced back at Daren. "You're welcome to stay too, but you'll have to sleep by the window." She smiled as she said this and pulled into her own driveway. "Well here we are, Casa de Punishment."
