Play The Witcher, Matt.
Oblivion is awesome with mods, but it ain't got the morally-ambiguous badassery that The Witcher has.

The Witcher huh? I've seen it before but never went to play it.
does it have the awesomeness that is character customization?

No, it doesn't unfortunately. Has you playing a pre-made.
However, its story is awesome, action and other game systems are awesome, world/atmosphere is awesome...
Beyond them being WRPGs that focus a lot on action, they are quite different. However, I prefer The Witcher a lot over Oblivion (besides, Morrowind owns Oblivion, hurhur).

I'll give you that Morrowind was better, more customization and I think a bigger world, but I need to go look at this Witcher thing

Morrowind rapes the s**t out of a lot of Western RPGs. The main quest for it IS SO ******** LONG. Same with Arcanum, Planescape, and Nox.
Outside of playing through NWN 2 again, I haven't been bothering with too many RPGs. Just been playing Rome: Total War.. where I apparently got an awesome economy, and I've gotten a million plus denarii that I couldn't spend completely if I tried. I just give my enemies 100k at random to try and get them to make more armies.
