I find myself in yet another situation where i'm starting to fall for a girl i can never have. I seem to have a nasty record of meeting women becoming friends then after a while i get feelings for them but i'm always in the friend zone since i'm the "nice guy" all women say they want but never seem to go after. I kick myself every time and ive been crushed badly a few times now so you would think i would have learned my lesson...but no i always go stumbling in head first into a brick wall.

I joined the Marine Corps and signed up for the Infantry to be a rifleman. I'm heading to Bootcamp June 25th 2012. But people still say its too close. I'm looking forward to it. Not to serve my country, but to go out and protect all the friends I have and make sure that I do something to keep them safe at home.

I was going to tell my buddy about Ben and I, sort of... see how badly people are going to take it (because the one I visited with today is probably going to take it about ten times better than the rest of our unit). But I chickened out.

Ooh, you'll be in for a helluva ride. XD Just do as you're told so you don't get your platoon in trouble, and don't half-a** anything. But don't exactly give it your all either, unless you're in a life-threatening situation. If you attract attention by doing well, they'll expect it of you every day and will push you to try even harder.

Non-life threatening = 3/4-a** it.
Life threatening = Full-a** it.

Also, a few veteran friends of mine have some advice...

"Don't be an over-achiever, or an under-achiever. Staying under the radar is good. Just shut off your brain and do as you're told."

"And try not to get broken. Giving it your all is good, but giving it your all then getting broken and not even getting to finish sucks. And trust me, starting over is shite. Avoid injury if you can."

"Also, don't drink milk before gas day. That affects some people, and makes them throw up."

"Most importantly (and they really wanted to stress this one), don't become an elitist a*****e. Marines often get it in their head that just because they're part of a more elite group, it means that everybody in every other branch is beneath them. We have no problems with the few nice Marines we have met."

I'm an idiot.

That was definitely one of the stupidest things I've ever done.

I don't like what this breakup has done to me.

Thanks, i got all that already. I'm not worried about the actual serving part, just the time coming up until it. I've already had a few people spit at me and whatnot and call me a child/dream murderer.

I'm not going to turn into one of those Elitists, they're assholes and can't help anyone for s**t.

My sister said she and her boyfriend broke up and hinted he cheated on her. Now she's saying they're on break despite she the fact she moved out. She's still going to his concerts and left most of her stuff at his place. I kinda wanna slap her out of it, tell her to get her stuff and her chinchilla before he forgets to feed the thing, and move on with her life.
