When I climb, I feel like I can touch the top of the world. I grew up on stories about the great adventurers and explorers: Shackleton, Ross, Amundsen, Scott.... to me, there's no greater feeling in the world. But there's nowhere to climb around here, it's too flat, and the pine trees aren't a suitable substitute.

So tomorrow, I'm going kayaking instead. Maybe the sky won't be quite so close, but at least I can leave the land behind.

I need an adventure.

That sounds great! I've never been kayaking, only canoeing (outrigger and the more conventional). I miss getting out and hiking and stuff. I love getting up into heights too. *sigh*
I don't like being land-locked at all- something I hated about living in the midwest - so flat and far from the ocean- it felt claustrophobic, if that makes any sense.
The only adventures I've been having are the domestic drama type- it's so continuous that it's starting to feel surreal- almost soap-opera-ish to the point where I half expect to have a surprise visit from pirate-spy with amnesia

After next weekend I'll be gone for 2 weeks. I may use my phone to get on sometimes, but I don't have a laptop yet. ninja

@ Epic: That sucks. D:

I've never been good at canoeing. They're slower-moving than kayaks, and I haven't got the patience. xD When I'm on the water, I want to fly. Anyway, I'm actually kinda weird, I'll happily take land-locked so long as it isn't flat, and I hate the coast (though love the open water). I either want only land in sight, or no land at all. Unless it's someplace like western Norway or Alaska, where you've fjords, or the cliffs of northern England and Scotland.

But yeah, I know the feeling. I've been avoiding my family (and thus the drama) with work lately.

Oh well, if they want to play that game, fine, I'll just wait two more weeks.

I guess I shouldn't see this as much a bad thing then...I already found a game to take out my frustrations from earlier.

My dad very rarely gets time off during the year unless it's holidays or weekends. o:

Shades hate me...sure mine has no problem with opening for my mom despite being broken...as soon as I try to close it though, it snaps in two...despite me trying to gently close it.

Oh hello heart, you've finally healed? Oh what excellent timing.

Calling Shenanigans

PostPosted: Tue Jun 21, 2011 3:10 pm

Just because I call shotgun for one car ride is no reason for you to get all offended because I wont be sitting next to you neutral And now this is going to turn into some huge pointless fight. Why can't you just deal with it?

I tried to warn a younger kid that the book she was gonna read had adult content in it 'cause I read it when I was 13 and was kinda like "What the hell? I just wanted to read a book about witches. O_O" Her response was "Teens are different now a days." She made me feel like I'm 40. emo

The coppers here are bloody hopeless. I called them to report a domestic going on next door. The gentleman was hitting and kicking the poor girl. Half an hour later the police show up. When they arrived it had been over, the neighbours finally got it under control.

Outriggers an get pretty fast, but that also means having to work with other 12 people. The solo aspect of kayaking is very appealing

I don't know who the ********> I am anymore.

I predict that my grades are slipping and my health is getting generally worse due to lack of exercise and procrastination.

I promise myself each day that I will be better and I will exercise and I will get onto studying. But; I'm getting distracted- every ******** day.

I seriously can't concentrate anymore- I feel down in the dumps almost every single day. I drown myself in books and in coffee and tea and I'm not even sure if my friends notice my change. When they ask I say I'm tired and they stop there. By that point I just want to cry- I always wonder; when will one of my friends persist that I'm not just 'tired' in sleepy terms but tired of life in general? When will one of them notice my mask and when will they decide to break it?
