I think the reason that spice goes well with hot chocolate (IMO) is that the original cacao powder is bitter, and spice helps that.
A few years ago, my bro and I made a pitcher of juice with...everything in it...real juice, pieces of cheese, chicken boilion cubes, barbecue sauce, pepper, all sorts of spices...It tasted pretty nasty, and seemed to have worked as some form of laxative.

Yes, it is. It stunted my experimentation with food. I'm not into combos these days.

I bake cake. Cake I bake makes people go "I lvoe you Dave!" And then I get covered with hugs and affection, from my friends...
David doesn't eat what he bakes, it is so good he rather just let other people eat it. Now I want to bake... damnit.

I like pies more than cakes. I used to bake a lot of key lime pies.
