At the nudge, Lou's head shook as if he was recalling his mind from outer space. "Well hidey ho assh-" Wait, where had they gone?
It looked like a very delayed reaction. Lou had every intention of insulting the group until he was blue in the face.
And now he just looked disappointed. The boil scratched his head as he looked around, finally settling on looking at Xiu. Best drop it. There were more important things to talk about. "So, Miss Paparazzi." He gestured to the camera. "Where's your date this time? Raiding the hors d'oeuvre table? Perhaps dancing with another ghoul?"

Xavier made a half strangled noise that sounded vaguely like a minipet dying. "Yes, thank you,"he said to Enzo, wondering if it were possible to sink into the floor and melt into a puddle because really he didn't think it were possible to actually fail even more than he already had.
And to be reprimanded by a reaper, no less. Xavier swallowed and turned back to Steffani.
Mengyao, on the other hand, was trying very hard to not simply whisk out of here and go back to his little abode. But then he remembered Lifen's beautiful dress and her smile and the way she was holding his hand and he sighed inwardly, mentally building himself up to just stay here because it was for her, not for him.
He cleared his throat.
"Did you want to dance?" he asked lightly. "Or get some refreshments, perhaps? I can't imagine they'd have anything particularly grand here, but it might be to our benefit. Or perhaps we can wander elsewhere, if you wish."
Ren was almost too busy spinning LW around to actually realize that the competition was over. Enzo's voice suddenly boomed out loud and clear, and Ren turned to his ghoulfriend, grinning.
"See?" he said, and then added, in a very overdramatic tone of voice: "It was just meant to be."

Sparrow had clearly not participated in the Dance Contest, but he had stood off to the side and watched with some amusement, clapping enthusiastically as the winners were announced.
Winding his way through the throngs of people, he tried to keep the disappointment out of his face. He was not thinking of Wren, he was not thinking of the fact that he was quite lonely without her here, he was definitely not going down that direction, not tonight.
Sparrow cleared his throat, shook his head, and straightened his shoulders. No, he was fine, he wasn't thinking about it.
There was an unfamiliar student off to the side. Sparrow gave her a curious look and stepped towards her, smiling.
"Are you new?" he asked cheerfully, extending a hand. "My name's Sparrow, I'm a reaper here at Amityville. I don't believe we've met before, but I'm sure it's a pleasure to do so now."

Eira finally relaxed as the other two joined her again at the table. With a fork in hand she tried her booberry cheesecake. TK knew the upperclassman that did this? It was so delicious. "If I didn't get this I was going to try the pretzel, it looked good." She nodded noticing what the skeleton boil got. "When you see them again tell them they did a lovely job." She smiled, taking another bite of the delicious cheescake then turning to Alice to see she had skipped out on eating. "You sure you don't want any? I'm willing to share.~" Eira offered as they continued to enjoy their evening.

Usually Yaya would have been first in line for a dance off, but right that moment a little break from the excitement sounded just a touch more appealing. Just this once she'd stick to the side lines, perfectly content with her present company, and watch everyone else shake it on the dance floor.
Or maybe not watch. Her attention was all for the Fae, and she frowned at his question. "I wouldn't consider that a proper dance." It hadn't really been all that personal, more of a group dance. Besides, she'd already given her first dance away, having arrived at prom much earlier. "I haven't seen Sharra though," she admitted, a touch of something leaking into her voice that may have been annoyance, or maybe just sadness. She didn't know where the nergal was, or why he wasn't there.
She also didn't want to think about it. This prom was supposed to be about having fun, regardless of who was or wasn't there with her.
Shaking her head, she forced a smile, then leaned in to lay the ghost of a kiss against Marosa's cheek. "You're here now." Whatever was keeping their third was surely important, and she refused to worry over it any longer.
Her hands slid along the lapels of his jacket, gaze following suit before she returned to that handsome face, striking without the fall of his hair to distract from the line of his jaw or the hint of cheek bones. She let it show in glowing eyes as she looked up at him just how handsome she found him. Of course, it also didn't hurt to voice it. "You look stunning."

There was the sound of static followed by a only a tiny screech from the microphone:
"ATTENTION, PROMETEERS!"
There was a muffled sound of rustling papers, and a throat was cleared before the voice continued on.
"If everyone could please make their way to the Big Top Tent! Very soon your Student Council will be announcing this years newly elected Prom Court."
The microphone was turned off with a dull thud, and the music continued on where it had left off.
....And then the mic was turned back on with another, much longer screech.
"OH AND THE SENIOR OF THE YEAR AS WELL! We will be announcing that too, of course!" Mumbled apologies could be overheard as the microphone clicked off for a second time.

It wouldn’t have bothered Hel to lose…if it wasn’t for Freya. As the older valkyrie then proceeded to rub it in and then walk away, Hel had an odd look on her face. “I will be right back again.” She announced to the psychopomp, and then immediately stalked off after her sister.
True to her word this time though, she did indeed come back no more than a few minutes later, looking rather pleased with herself as she cracked the knuckles of her left hand. She approached the boil again and announced. “We should dance! Except…yanno…none of that swinging or throwing dancing…just…not that dancing.” She held out her hands and waggled her fingers at him. “Since I asked you first, you have to be the ghoul.” She grinned then.

Monty was just about to go play a few more games when he heard the announcement over the speakers. He slowly made his way to the main tent. When he got in there it already seemed more crowded then before. He stepped aside from the entrance and found a chair so he could sit and watch.
Monty has a game obsession so many prizes!!!! dragging a large version of rat tied by the tail to his chain in back of him These are tied to his jacket in the front Carrying this around as well Managed to snag a fun house ball when he got drained out of ball pit (inside his jacket)

Alice nodded. "I am quite alright Eira. I am just thirsty," as she took a sip of her drink. Although, that piece of her booberry cake did look pretty good. She kind of glanced back at the piece for a moment before she turned away. Nope, she thought, I am good. Totally good. She took a sip of her water so she wouldn't look so obvious. Most likely, she was failing, even if she couldn't see it.
Alice had arrived at Prom with this dress, these shoes, with a pair of black tights and a matching headband.
"If that little thing is impressive for you, there is a lot more that my body can do." He flicked his tail, going for another dance number when the mic called out that the dance was over and, sadly, they did not win.
"Ah, seems we've been out-staged." He looked back at her and, since he was sure she would sashay her way back to whatever escorts she had been looking for, leaned in as quickly as he could to go for a kiss. Hopefully a surprise attack would allow him a sweet reward.

He was the first person all night to try to talk to her and it took her a few moments to realize what she was supposed to do. With a small squeak, she set her things down so she could shake his hand. "I-I'm Ithildin, but you can call me Ithi. I arrived just before the Prom started, so not many people know me yet! It's been so interesting watching how everyone acts. Everyone is so different and their outfits are so colorful." She laughed, picking up her stuffed rabbit from the table and tucking it under an arm. She was relieved to find someone to talk to, it was starting to get a bit lonely watching everyone but it seemed rude to just interject between the couples to talk. She might have tried were it any other night, but the way everyone had been acting it seemed like this was supposed to be a special night so she amused herself with other things.

Sparrow's smile widened. "A pleasure, then, Ithi," he said, and gave her hand a firm shake before reaching for a glass of punch, dipping the ladle into the bowl and pouring a small bit into his own glass. "So you're new, then, as I suspected. Well, it's a lovely time to come to Amityville, we're quite enthusiastic about things such as prom, as you can see."
He waved around at the elaborate decorations, his eyes twinkling. "It's been quite entertaining to attend the school for as long as I have, and I must admit to being very happy when new students arrive."
"So," said Sparrow, leaning against the table. "You haven't been to classes or anything yet?"

"No classes yet, but a very nice lady helped show me around. She was from the desert like me." She chuckles, looking at all the amazing decorations. "I still think it's a little cold here, but there's so much to see and learn I hardly notice it most days. I'm sure I'll stop noticing it all together at some point. Did you know there's a lake?! A whole lake, made out of water! How amazing is that?!" She coughed then, blushing faintly as she realized she was getting a little too excited. "How long have you been here, Sparrow?"

"A very nice lady?" repeated Sparrow, tilting his head a little curiously. But then he shook his head in amusement and gave a little laugh. "A lake, yes, though admittedly I haven't actually been to it myself yet. I keep meaning to, but I just haven't yet."
He took a sip of the punch and smiled. "Almost three years now," he said, and there was a hint of pride in his voice. "I'm a third year here, and while perhaps not every moment has been ideal, it's been rather a fun ride."
Sparrow smoothed a hand down the front of his elaborate colored coat. "I'll graduate soon, I expect, though it might take a bit more effort on my part."
He glanced back at Ithi. "Have you met anyone yet, then?"

It was subtle at first, but the music was beginning to die down and the lights were dimming. The Big Top fell into twilight now as the evening rolled on, and much like at the movies there was now a hush coming over those in the tent. A large spotlight suddenly came on the main stage as all five of the student council members appeared: Aymet smirking behind his skull mask, Amrita looking excited, Mort appearing a little nervous, Alex giving his eerie smile, and Thackery absolutely sparkling. It was immediately evident what was going on once eyes were drawn to the four crowns and a jesters hat waiting on red plush.
Prom Court.
Amrita was first to speak once the noise had died down, holding the mic up to be heard clearly. “Hello, Prometeers! I hope you all have had a wonderful evening!” she began with a bright smile, which might or might not have faltered for a moment when she saw the twin dolls waving at her in the crowd. “It’s that time of night now to announce Amityville’s Prom Court for the year, as well as our Senior of the Year! Settle yourselves and we can begin.”
Gnomes scurried about, ushering those still standing after the announcement off to the sides of the tent to allow for the three ringed center to be empty. Once the area was cleared, and a silence fell upon the room once more, Thackery and Alex stepped forward. The former beamed excitedly as he handed a stack of card paper to each Amrita and Mort, and the latter had positioned himself closer to the crowns that were set on their pillow soft pedestal. The papers were only for show, of course. Each of the Student Council already knew who the winners were, but this was a Grande Event, the Big Show under the Big Top. Details were everything. Drama was everything.
“So first, for our King! Drumroll please!” Somewhere in the back, a gnome began to rattle on the snare, as if this were an act about to commence. Amrita made a show of glancing down to the card, before a large smile brightened her face, and she lifted her head back up to look out onto the crowd just as the cymbal crashed. “West!” The entire Student Council applauded him.
Mort stepped forward next, tapping the mic hesitantly before taking a breath. “Next is Queen. If you would?” The gnome once again began to hit the snare as he rolled up his sleeves, making a few odd movements with his arms before, without warning, there was an open card in his hands. “Your queen isss . . .” Bah, he couldn’t help his smile anymore. “Belladonna!” And there went the cymbal crash a moment later as they clapped.
Moving on, Amrita lifted her mic once more, flourishing an arm as a card dangled down to her on a thin string from somewhere at the top. She still made a show of reading it and moved her gaze back out to the crowd. "For our Prince,” she announced with a grin, “and for the second year running: Jove!" The gnome forgot to drumroll him in and thus did so rather quickly, and perhaps louder than necessary with the ending crash that hurt ears even in the front.
With gaining confidence, Mort twirled the mic in his hands and gave a leering grin from beneath his hood. The drummer, growing impatient, began to rattle not just the snare but a few taps of the bass drum as well for the announcement. “Your Princess,” he began, pulling a card out from behind Thackery’s ear and opening it, “iiiiis Amarus!” The crashing cymbal almost seemed spiteful at this point.
Amrita gave a ballerina twirl with her final card, spinning the mic with her a few times before she stopped in place. “And your Jester this year,” she said with as brilliant an expression as ever as she posed, “is Hel!” Rather than an accompanying drumroll and cymbal crash, the gnome decided on something more appropriate.
"And finally . . ." Both Mort and Amrita shared the mic this time, the former with his hands behind his back, the latter clutching hers together with glee. "We would like to call on Aymet to announce our last award for the evening!" They announced at the same time, both gesturing an arm to spotlight the imposing figure that was now standing behind them. Aymet took his place in front of the microphone, and both Mort and Amrita backed away, taking their place on the sidelines. Both had their hands behind their back, and both were smiling.
"Thank you Puppeteer, Doll." Aymet said into the mic with a surprising calmness, as if testing to make sure the height and pitch would work. "-The final award for the evening, your Senior of the Year," He announced, dramatically pausing for a few seconds. ". . . is Riley!" The gnome decided screw it and went on a drum solo for the accompanying music, a manic crash of drums and cymbals that ended abruptly as he tossed his sticks out into the crowd and shouted something like, Thank you, Crass Vegas!
Small spotlights came on one by one, maneuvering through students and horsemen until they found the appropriate people. When the newly appointed Court and Riley arrived to the stage, they would find a very mute Alex ready for them, their respective objects held in two black gloved hands to be placed on each of their heads or hands, careful not to get it snagged on horns, or to wait for other head pieces to be removed first. West would receive a firm clap on the shoulder as his crown and scepter were offered, Belladonna a wink as Alex pressed a finger to his own lips to indicate some big secret had been kept as he slid her current little crown off to be replaced with the larger one and a scepter into her gloved hand. Jove would receive a polite handshake and a pat on the head as his crown was returned that year, and Amarus and Hel would each receive a broad smile and a small bow as their crowns (one sparkling, the other jingling with the sound of bells and rather colorful) were passed on. Riley received not a crown, but a plaque that had her name and the date inscribed along with the title of Senior of the Year in cursive beneath, as well as a medal with Amityville’s insignia draped around her neck, which Alex gave to her reverently. As Alex backed away, Aymet took his place, moving down the line of winners to shake their hands, being mindful of his claws.
“Thank you all so much for coming!!” Thackery spoke up, bouncing with excitement as his tail wagged. “And remember, even though only one of us can get the award, you are all seniors of the year~!” Perhaps he had been drinking The Ringleader too much, because when the treasurer swept his arm out to encompass them all, a massive wave of glitter showered into the crowd. “HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE PROM!”

Ren was somewhere behind the dj stand making incoherent shrieking sounds at his little brother and generally embarrassing himself more than he already had.
