Er Pick a colour, any colour, fill in space.
Pick a darker colour, and fill in less space.
Then the darkest colour to follow the lineart.
Then on the opposite side, pick a lighter colour, rince and repeat.
Edit: Ah, and it should be, tone related darker or lighter.

A pole arm with a RL length of 5 feet long becomes an Image of 7.4 feet long @ 72 dpi resolution @ 104 :1" scale...
I may be at this for awhile...

Jay, make you're life easier. Up the resolution, and skip out on the pixel messing.
You'd be better off at 300 dpi at standard setting. Your comps gonna crap out on you.

I know I know, I just reinstalled CS and forgot to change the image resolution when I started sweatdrop crying
... And after drawing and detailing an eagle in flight statuary as the hammer head of a Lucerne hammer it is somewhat hard for me to decide to scrap it at this point crying
