I'm never on /b/ because the last time I showed up the top three threads were nothing but midget porn. Most people there aren't interesting enough nowadays anyways.
Still, 4chan's a good way to get wallpapers or find lan games. In that regard, /touhou/ /jp/ is occasionally good.

Ya, you can find some REALLY interesting crap in the snail boards/threads, sometimes. And once in a blue moon, some thread of unfathomable wisdom and AWESOME and WIN and epic appears in /b/... but you have to muck through a LOT of BS and hope to God your ability to be disturbed down to your very soul has been turned off. whee

4chan is great for ridiculous pictures too. XD Cog's PB is full of random stuff, and Fish's I hear is slowly being filled.
/v/ is obviously cool, and /tg/ too.
