"Most tend to not enjoy that too much, not one of my favorite pasttimes either." It had really upset her when Jarlaxle refused to back down, refused to quit, kept citing that Sevilin or he would die. That had worried her enough and with Sevilin unable to use his runes without dire consequences, well it was bad all around. "Jarlaxle just likes to flex his muscles and show off. You notice he fled when it appeared he might lose... and I was down for the count too. Sad really." She ran her fingers lightly through her hair and growled, "I still have to pay the b*****d back for that." She still couldn't flex her hand without discomfort though she pushed it aside and continued on with her day to day tasks as though nothing was the matter. "Be wary of Piper as well, she can rune apparently."

"I think I'd like the change. After all, we don't get much time to do what we want...usually dancing to someone else's tune and not your own." She laid her head against his chest a moment, giving another one of those contented sighs. "Who knows, you may see some light of my scheming, may end up with a lot that stress keeps away, we may even get married." Another soft laugh, indicating that that could slide for a joke if it was so taken to. After all, she was aprehensive to commit to things like that if they had the potiental to be ruined.

"He translocated you off the field...and could of killed me then. But he didn't for whatever reason, a reason which I don't care to know or to be involved with." Though despite his wishes he seemed to be so. Though he did lean back in his chair, giving a sneer at the mention of Piper.

"Yes I quite know...her actions lead to that...incident we had." Wow, it was still uncomfortable to mention that. "And if she ever does it to me again, I won't hesitate to take retaliation."

That just got her angry again. How dare he even think to mess with her unconscious body?! Ooh she'd give him a good kick for that, just wait and see! "Who knows why that elf does half the things he does. I lose track in all of his monolouging and double meanings." But she leaned back and sighed, he still wasn't happy about the culmination of their desires and Malik's machinations and she had to admit she wasn't happy about the methods used but she wouldn't trade what had happened for anything. It kind of hurt to a point that he could take something that she considered wondrous and make it out to be dirty and evil. She was silent for a long time, thinking about that and comparing it to another time in particular before she blinked at him. "Be careful, any retaliation taken against her will come back tenfold from her protector and...fiancee." Yes she spat the word, yes she was still annoyed with him, yes she still couldn't believe they were getting married. None of those opinions had changed and likely never would.

Malik grinned lightly, and ran his hand through her hair, the other hand resting at the small of her back.

"That is true isn't it. and look at that. mom's coming, dad's already here, Meilikki is here..Roarke..hmm. a note to Onyx and Moonstone and we'd have the whole crowd gathered."

A chuckle.

"Wouldn't that be somethign for Meilikki to see. an elvish wedding."

"And you care about her even still to protect her from me?" Of course that's how he took it because, well he was Sevilin. He shook his head at the notion, that little surface trash...everyone wanted to protect her. But he looked to her again. "Are you so sure? Twice I've marked her, many a time threatened and disrespected, bad mouthed and even mention it right to her faith...and I have not gotten much more than a stern warning." Which spoke volumes if she compared it to herself, for she had slapped the thing and gotten her hand smashed for it.

She was thankful for this for him. They had thier rough spots, but he always seemed to forgive her when she had said something or done something that was advised againt or better left undone or unsaid. At least she could tell he was in a good mood with her now, seeing as he was touching and thier bonding told her so. "How very convienient, yes?" A little nuzzle to his chest, squeezing him in a hug for a moment. A little nod against his chest. "It would do her well to see such sights...she needs some good ones to remember." A sigh before she looked up to him, triple colored eyes holding that loving look as she gazed at him. "You forgive me then for another one of my many mistakes and wrong doings?" She couldn't stand it if he was mad at her too, virtually every other elf here was already.

Fianna looked down at the cracked and broken floor...looked like something had been tunneling there. That wasn't good. A quick summoned runic circle and she scribed to the air, the holes and cracks sealing themselves up. Good thing Malik made his floors of stone. She turned back to the gate and deactivated it with a swipe of her hand. Now...to go tend to the subject of the letter she recieved.

"I gave him an excuse to do what he's wanted to do from the beginning. Malik has never wanted me around, merely tolerated my presence for her sake. Every time he wanted to 'teach me a lesson' she stepped in and stopped him. This time he was smart enough to wait until we were on the outs so she didn't know about or didn't care what he did." Her head shook and she flexed her hand again, forming a fist for a few moments before releasing it and rubbing her thumb against the back of her hand where it was still sore. "You're too valuable to him. He needs you whether he'll admit it or not so he has to watch what he says to you. Me, he could care less if I fell off the edge of a cliff, in fact it would make his day if I did so." The anger was still present in her tone and her eyes were sparking, a definite sign that she was irritated, though who she was ultimately upset with, was anyone's guess.

"Forgiven. Ah and mother is here."

He hugged her back, and lightly caressed her cheek. His wonderful little piper. despite her moments...she always apologized and at least understood when she'd overstepped line or boundaries.

"Go see her, and help her to Kieran. I have a few things to arrange for Meilikki reguarding perhaps the finding of a new faith. And I'll catch up to you after that. won't take but maybe ten minutes."

Piper's new glove set, Broog had made a pair, were sitting in her room, inher closet, on top of ther hidden bag stash. Broog had put them there, and gotten his reward, whihc he was sharing with Tremor. Tremor had gotten his own reward for his fixing of Sevilin's armor, whihc was laying draped on a dummy aroudn his workshop at the present.

"Oh believe me, you're more valuable than I. Didn't you hear what I told Jarlaxle and Kimmuriel? That wasn't a lie. Surface elves can indeed die of greif, from literally broken hearts. You've seen how she's acted since being at sorts with you. You taking against her in murderful manner, or getting killed, anything of that sort, could cause that grief. Fragile creatures sometimes." He leaned back in his chair and shrugged.

"I on the other hand, am nothing but a tool to him. I possess a unique skill and am willing to work for a payment. Speaking of which, that payment is due." Though he looked off in another direction. Master Rune Mage Fianna Swiftfeather was on the plane...yes they could tell each other apart. Energy signatures. "Great...more surface things." That put him on a defensive edge. Rune mages were solitary or one per party for a reason.

A little smile at his confirmation, leaning her cheek lightly into his hand at his caressing, then a nod. Yup, mother had blipped onto Piper's internal bond radar. Pulling away from him, she shook her head and put hit hands to her hips in that 'I'm about to nag at you' posture. Though Piper didn't nag, she gave an suggestion once and hoped it to be followed. "Don't you go frustrating yourself or her, we've just gotten a stress reprieve." A little chuckle before pushing up on her toes to press a kiss to his cheek and then walking off.

And Fianna almost smacked right into her daughter as she was coming up the stairs and Piper had started down. In fact she had to grab Piper's shoudlers to steady them both. "Not quite the welcome I was expecting, but I guess it will do." She gave a chuckle, then that serious look took over. "Malik sent me a letter, what's your father gotten himself into this time? He's in it for enough for not telling me he was down here. We had an agreement on this." She shook her head as her and Piper both made thier way upstairs, Piper in the lead.

"Sevilin Inthara happened to him is what happened. And he didn't tell you? Maybe that's because the nature of his visit...wasn't too hospitable a reason to come here."

"Master Rune Mage Inthara...I should of known those two would get into it." Yes, just as Sevilin knew of her, she knew of Sevilin. It was a Master thing, seeing as there weren't many of them. But reaching Kieran's room, she opened the door and stepped in, Piper in tow. "Kieran Silvercrest, you have a lot of explaining to do to me, and an earful from me to receive."

Malik went from there down to teh kitchen first, he was going to grab somethign to eat, noting Zahara and Sevilin thick as thieves and no runic books in sight, nor any apparent studying being done. wasn't that cute. Then in to teh fridge for some snacks. winter chocolate and batwing crunchies would be good. hmm. might have to send Nightmare to Norrath to go brownie hunting.

after getting his snacks, he decided to tempt fate by snack on them in the kitchen, letting his mind go to where it needed through Malvolence on teh instructions and how things were coming. besides, he was sure Sevilin had a price gouging to get to.

"And further more, we talked about this. If you are coming down here then you are supposed to tell me, not just hand off your duties to Rainsong and come skipping through gates down here. Do tell why I wasn't informed?"

Kieran cringed for the fith time in a now fifteen minute long rant at him, as Fianna's fingers poked around in his arm wound, with various little rune things no less. It was kind of painful indeed, and the yelling wasn't too pleasing...knew he should of told her. But a look over to Piper who was trying not to laugh. "Do tell how she found out again?"

"Because you got caught in your lie father dear, I found out, Malik found out and Malik thought mother should know. Rather endearing gesture I would say." Another supressed motion of laughing, this was good.

"Well, what do you have to say for yourself? I mean what if something happened in Andal? Hm? What then Silvercrest, if you are not around and no one knows where you are, do you know hoe frantic I would be? The horrible things I'd be thinking?"

He sucked in a breath as she poked him so that it caused pain amongst her little poison neutralizing and healing routine here. "All I have to say is I'm sorry and old habits die hard. Will that answer suffice, love?"

"That and probably the proverbial pound of flesh." She chuckled, after all she knew she could rant his ears off and it was quite fun to do.

Piper shook her head. "You two are too cute..." Really they were. "Fighting like an old married couple." Not that they were married but they were close enough to be so. "That reminds me, mother. When you get a chance I'd like to discuss some things with you...mostly about a business idea I've got going." And who better to ask on the particular subject but mother.

"After I rip off your father's arm and beat him with it then reattach it dear."

"You know, the frightening part is that you could actually do that with your runics."

She smiled sweetly. "I know."

"Perhaps, and then at the same time perhaps not. Piper's a lot stronger than you give her credit for Inthara. If I left, she would not only survive but she would thrive. She doesn't need me, she just likes to have me around....or she did." Zahara's anger swiftly died and she sighed, she needed to talk to Piper. After all, the elf had only been trying to help and she still fully believed that it was Malik's fault she'd gone as far as she had. But that was not a subject she truly wanted to think about right now and her anger came back as soon as the blueberry walked through the room. "Eavesdropping one of your many talents Lord D'Vinn?" she asked sarcastically.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 02, 2006 4:54 pm

"And you'd still be surprised at how fragile they are." He had no doubt that she'd never been topside. Though he sighed at the mistake she had just made, practically inviting Malik's attention. Did she not realize she did that? If she hated him so much then why did she have to prode at him and seemingly want to draw his attention like a child wanting to show off a finger painting. Though women were like that. "Lord D'vinn, I do believe you didn't tell me that Master Rune Mage Swiftfeather was coming..." Rune mages...they were an odd bunch. Sevilin and masters probably more so.

A pat to Malvolence

"Yes, actually."

And back to eating his snacks, waiting for Sevilin to go about his price gouging since payment was due and lord knows what kinda of hazard payments or the like he was going to add on to this. of course malik had a few deductions he coudl throw in for things. but best to let Sevilin try and gouge him first.

"No I didn't. Fianna's arrival is due to certain injuries given to Kieran. Not to mention it was Piper's insistance to inform her. I take it you'd like to be informed of her coming here from now on?"

PostPosted: Fri Jun 02, 2006 5:31 pm

"Indeed, I would. We rune mages of higher rank have a tendencies to...mmm, let's call it a tendency to clash with one another." Now that in itself could of been a doubled statement, seeing it could mean that he meant to start trouble with her, or that it was generally a honest and true fact. Rune mages were...well rune mages. That was all that there was to say about that.

He tapped the table top with his knuckles a moment. "Well, Lord D'vinn, since things have relatively clamed down, I do believe it is appropriate to mention that your pay is due...and of course with somewhat of a...let's call it a bonus. After all, destruction of my personal property, unprovoked attacks on my person, and general energy wasting, time wasting and life shortening experiences and annoyances." A smirk to Malik. "Say...triple of last time?" Always set your bar high.

Her eyes were drawn to the blade resting at his hip and she almost growled. That sword needed to be given to Jarlaxle so he could kill like it he had her daggers. Which reminded her, the pieces to those things were probably lying on teh ground still. She'd have to go retrieve them at some point. Some point soon enough. Triple his salary, that sounded fair. But the news that Fianna was back came as a slight surprise. She merely sat back and listened to the haggling, since it was only beginning.
