"Innoruuk hasn't spoken to me in some time. I don't feel him or hear him anymore. I still offer prayer, and I still retain the power of the Harm Touch. But now I begin to wonder if that power is not something that Innoruuk merely awoke, or if it really is a godly gift, a gift of power for the dedication and path of the Shadowknight."
A sigh.
"and once again, I am doing something for someone else to assuage my own needs. while I don't claim to know the entire pantheon here..I do know that the Earth Mother is gone. I was hoping, perhaps to see if Meilikki coudl find a connection to, and evoke the Norrathian goddess Tunare to extend her power here. because I know that if Tunare comes, Innoruuk will come. they are ancient rivals."
He set his glass down.
"I feel abandoned by him. as if what I have become, what I am, has fallen short of what he wishes me to be, and he has cast me out of his grace for it."
A nod at her mention of Fianna.
"I would imagine so. and then Kieran will really get an earful."

Piper...really wasn't one for gods...they had become little more than explicitives to her. Which was odd for elves, being a usually highly faithful race. But she had long ago cast then aside in any true meaning, after feeling betrayed by her own kind. And if Gods looked as thier creatures did...well then yeah. One would know where she was going. So she thought carefully on what she should say, not wanting to throw in her usual 'well do you honestly need them' lines and what not. "Is life so bad like that? Innoruuk not in the thick of your life I mean." Might as well prob the depths of this before doing too much with it. But she nodded as well about her mother. "Then she'll just love and care all over him."

"It's...disconerting. the Clerics still have thier powers, thier blessing. so I know he hasn't abandoned them. Maybe I just have become deaf to him. It's hard on people of faith to lose thier god's voice and essence in thier lives. But..if he has abandoned me..it leaves me free of the constraints of a god, and able to find a faith in another. But as long as I possess the Harm Touch..I think he's just ignoring me. Not talking to me anymore, for what I have become. what was it Kimmuriel called me..a blue skinned Koada'dal."

Hmm, turning the question back around to her was he? Well then, "I live here for one. And for two, free food indeed. That's guaranteed to get me out of bed. BEsides, my body is just kind of conditioned to this dark and early crap now. As much as I want to sleep later, I can't." She pushed her empty plate back and leaned back in her chair, adjusting the belly button ring that had twisted to a painful position. "Or maybe it's your company that I'm sticking around for, since it's so pleasant this morning...." Let's just see how he reacts to this...

"So you would indeed seek out another god? And if you found none?" Though again she thought better of her words and chose them carefully. "You know...sometimes the best things are unanswered prayers." That was her input into his feelings on it...after all, she couldn't tell him to forget gods all together, nor could she force them on him in whatever way. She remembered breifly when she had thrown off her own. "In other words he called you a surface elf." She sighed. "Defiance can often be met with a cold shoulder...even if there is no break from one another, there can still be a turned cheek. As long as you're with me...you're defying him. It's something you can't avoid. And if he chooses to not look your way because of that...well..." Trailing off really, not really wanting to continue that thought and it's possible outcomes.
"Contrary to popular belief, I do know how to be pleasant." He nodded lightly and then rolled his shoulders back. It was weird not constantly wearing chainmail under his tunic. Though not an entirely bad feeling. A shrug from him. "You usually just don't tolerate me when I hang around here...sit in my rather lucid company, which I'm sure can't be as exciting as I seem." It was a little perplexing...she avoided him like the plague.

Which was rather surprising to her. Not only had he thanked her but he was being rather nice to her. She was more unsure of herself than she suually was. Normally, she knew where she stood. She knew what she could say to set him off and took great pains to do so. It was her only defense against the sexual attraction wishing to take root as well as his usual sarcastic remarks. This new nice Sevilin had her off balance, treading carefully and studying what he said. "Well you don't exactly seem like you want my company, so I figure I might as well make it easy on you and just get out of your way. You've never really given me a reason to stay around other than to annoy you." She had to assume that his nice streak was only because she'd helped him when he'd asked her to and 'saved' his life though she didn't believe that. He could have easily beaten Jarlaxle, he just chose not too. "Why didn't you use your runes?" she asked softly, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"Because he wanted me to. Normally when swords are named, they have purposes behind them. He told me the names of his swords. Rune breaker and Rune Eater...highly specific names when you're against a Rune Mage, wouldn't you say? Why give him what he wants? Though I would of preferred to not fight him at all...I do not need anymore enemies than I already have down here."
He knew he was making her uncomfortable, but not in the usual instict frustration or general bullying annoyance way. Sevilin had long ago learned to read subtle reactions, after all it was a must for where he came from now wasn't it? She was more or less off kilter with him.

"Defiance and a cold shoulder I can live with. and unanswered prayers are not always the best."
A small shake of his head.
"Not in the pantheon of my birth plane. there are only four dieties that would listen to the prayers of a Tier'dal. Cazic Thule, Bertoxxulus, Soluesk Ro, and Sarymn. Fear, Pestilance, Torment, and Flame. none of which are particularly pleasent..save Soluesk, but he almost entirely deals with wizards. his religion is one of power, to the sacrifice of all else."
A shrug though.
"Perhaps an Andalian God might look favorably. or one from this plane. Who knows. but for now...I can only wait and see if Innoruuk has truly abandoned me...or simply refuses to look upon me in punishment."

This was a depressing conversation...then again, that had been the mood as of late. Seemed ever since they had settled down in one spot, things started happening...it almost made her want to take to her wanderlusting again just to get a reprieve and have things the way they were. But she had promised and those were childish notions anyway. Piper just didn't have much to say in the way of Gods. After turning her own cheek to them for so long, she naturally wouldn't. "And what if he has?"

A small grin.
"Then I find another to follow. perhaps we coudl get lucky and Erollisi might decide to take a look."
She might not know whom that was. after all she didn't study the dieties. she was more an agnostic.
"Or Tunare...that might be a stretch though. hmm. what about that Andalian god. the one that favors the hunt. you like to call that one out alot. he might have taken a notice by now."

Okay she couldn't help but smile at his comment, referring back to more private things, besides, it was ncie to see him smile, even if they were at some sort of strange odds with one another. Though she didn't pay too much mind to his new God choosing, half the time she wasn't sure who was who in that pantheon Malik was fond of. "I do believe that the the Surface elven pantheon, as well as the unique Andalian sub pantheon has head more than enough of my callings. Though blessing do come in many a form."

He walked over to her, placing his hand under her chin and lifting her tricolored eyes to his steely ones.
"and if no diety will listen, then you at least always have and will. If no god will favor me, then you'll be my goddess. my heaven on earth."
and he gave her one of those famous movie style romantic kisses, the slow, lingering, love-lorn types that drew bodies together, that made people want to see more. the kind of kiss that a soldier gives his love before going off to war, or given on a deathbed...or at a wedding, for the phrase 'you may now kiss the bride'.

"Son of a b***h..." she shook her head. Jarlaxle had physically named his swords to bring down a rune mage and she had to agree with Sevilin's logic there. It was never a good idea to play wiht blades like that. Chances were Jarlaxle wasn't bluffing and he really could take of those runes in an instant, which was indeed a scary thought seeing as that was Sevilin's hidden ace, his weapon against the jerk. "Well then I applaud your good sense. I thought you were trying to be contrary by not using them but if he was goading you, you showed a great deal of self control by not blasting him into another plane. I probably would have taken the chance and ended up giving up my life for it. You're way worked much better." Complimenting now? Goodness what was up wiht these two? He was being cordial, she was being admiring..something was definitely off. "Are we sure Malik isn't up to his old tricks again? Trying to push us together or something?"

She gave a soft melodic laugh as she blinked at him, gold flecks flicking slightly in proof of a bit of a happier mood. Hey, touching always indicated that he was more or less out of whatever he was upset about. Piper had learned that quick, when he was angry with her or in general, he wouldn't touch her in almost any manner. "Someone has to listen and put up with you, and grant you the reprieves that you deserve." That kiss though was probably her undoing at the moment, letting it and Malik himself, the love she felt for him, comfort her when she probably needed it but wouldn't speak that she did. Though he was probably a bit guilty of that as well. More or less let herself melt against him, letting her body mold to his in long practiced and natural fashion, her arms twining around his waist and holding at his back. Of course with that kiss' end she gave one of those contented sighs, and then nuzzled under his chin affectionately. "So then...the lich is gone. That's one barrier gone for us." After all, all plans that had made had gotten thrown in the closet.
"I do assure you, I don't enjoy getting the s**t beat out of me, regardless of who it is and what they are using. I don't like to waste energy on meaningless battles of that sorts...nothing but a waste and that's all it was. Besides, I'd rather not kill myself that way. Though I'm sure my own magery wouldn't best his." Not that he knew. He was a high level mage himself, and then a master rune mage on top.
Though she gained eye contact at her last statementand he probably looked slightly taken aback as he blinked at her. "Malik is...either impressed with me and off my back and has thought he's taught you enough of a lesson, or he's just preoccupied with other things that he seems to stress over. Either way, I know I haven't eaten anything here or touched anything here that hasn't been investifated first."

"With Dimitri gone, and Domina in civil war...deepwater and honoursfield relatively insecured and self absorbed...we've nothign to worry about for now. We can do anything we want to do."
Though Malvolence reported about Sevilin and Zahara. ha. let them fall into teh age old trap on thier own this time. then they can't blame it on him. and wouldn't that be a great 'I told you so'.
