I'm not a fan of Tolkien's writing style either. sweatdrop I think Peter Jackson did extremely well actually. It must have been so hard to turn into cinema but he was the man for the job. 3nodding

Maybe so, but I don't think Return Of The King deserved 11 oscars...no way

I think so. Although the films don't rank amongst my faves I can only begin to comprehend the amount of work put into just one of those films. I think that amount of hard work deserves awards.

I think he did a bloody brilliant job. I love the books, they're the only books I can bare to read but what really pisses me off is people who read the books first saying that Peter Jackson didn't do it right or he ruined it - do a better job yourselves, I'd love to see most of them try. The work he and his team put into developing the original story into films was phenomenal and the work the cast and crew did in making them was more than people give them credit for. Today’s generation is reading less and less and they shouldn't have to miss out on what is great fantasy world just because people don't read as much. Peter Jackson made it so future generations can know the story without spending months of their lives reading books especially when people may not have the time to read them. If people have never read the books then they don't need to know some bits are incorrect and can just enjoy the films. I know the story like the back of my hand and I still enjoy the films and good pieces of cinematic entertainment.
So there. xp

Yeah I suppose.
But I swear if Orlando Bloom was up for best actor
I would have to shoot somebody.
Those awards would of been DEFFINATELY rigged 3nodding

Well said. The amount of work involved even just from a CG point of view is so immense.

I definitely think people should read though. I've started reading a lot more over this summer. It's a pity life is so hectic these days and people can't find the time. sad

I'm just too impotent---I mean impatient to read. I don't like being left with myself in silence for long - it makes me think about stuff and I think too much as it is. sweatdrop
