Alexandra smiles faintly at Cosette as she tries to figure out if she should tell her a truth or just lie about it. Her lips purses slightly as she looks at Cosette and takes in a deep breath. "Everything, to be honest. The fact that you are the public wife and... well I am hidden one just.. hurts me." She hesitantly admits before she places the bowl down slowly. "Guess I am not as strong as everybody thinks if I hide away like this over something simple like that issue I have right now. Don't get me wrong, I am not looking for sympathy or pity."

Cosette blinked, it took her a moment for the words to sink in. Her fingers ran through thick raven strands of hair as she pursed her lips. Plush pink turning to white as she thought about what Alexandra was saying. "Oh." she said after a moment. For lack of something better to say.

She drew up from her seat and walked to the far side of the kitchen and out of sight. After some clanking and pausing to stir the stew she sits back down and places a glass down in front of Alex and on for herself. "Look.." she said, pouring some Rum into each glass in turn. "if it where me I'd feel the same way. If you really are unhappy..." she said pausing to take a deep swig of the rum. "I'd talke to Jonathan about it. Address your feelings about the situation."

(( Sorry for not posting this on JohnnyBones, please just act like it was posted by JohnnyBones ^_^; ))

Astrid sighed softly, "No, I cannot go with you to the island, I am certain I will hinder your crew, and I do not want to do so" she looked to Rachel, then to Jonathan, "I will however I can wait at this island." She took out a map and pointed to the island's location.

"Your ship is currently here," Astrid pointed to a location on the ocean, "and the Island where the relic is held is about here," she moves her finger to another island, seemingly close to the island that she would wait for Jonathan and his crew to return with the relic. "If I must, I can pay you half of the coins now, then the other half when you return the relic."

Jonathan rubbed his temples in frustration. Whether it was out of frustration due to the uncooperative woman, or because he knew better than to fall for such a blatant trap. Still unconvinced, he waved the newcomer off. "Leave us," the captain said nonchalantly, "we will discuss your proposition. You will have your decision soon." A first mate who didn't trust him, a crew who doesn't like him, and now a girl who wants to kill him.

Astrid nodded to Jonathan, "As you wish," she said before walking out of the room and back onto the deck of the ship. She looked around for a moment, wondering about what his answer was going to be. There was no trap being made, she just wanted the relic back in her family's possession.

"Hm, I wonder if he doesn't trust me anymore..." Astrid said before laughing softly, "I wouldn't blame him though, I may have made it seem like I was trying to trap his crew..." she sighed, realizing that some of her words were probably going to ruin everything that she needed.

Jonathan leaned back into his chair and thought for a moment. "A little too eager, no?" he questioned his first mate. "First you blind them with their lust for gold by giving them half up front, then you refuse to accompany them on their voyage to keep yourself out of harms way when the inevitable happens." Leaning forward to study the map a bit, he finally sighed, "Still... with full knowledge that she could betray us, that will give us the advantage. And the crew has need of coin. I think we should take her up her offer. What say you?" He waited patiently for Rachel's response.

"She does seem quite eager to get us to go, but that could be from this claimed relic's importance to her," Rachel nodded softly, "and she does know how to persuade a pirate," she nodded once again, then walked over to where the woman was standing before.

"I do understand as to why she would not want to accompany us though, a battle will surely ensue, and she does not want to get harmed as it happens," she shook her head, then spoke again, "and even if we kept her in the ship, it doesn't mean a group of these thieves won't sneak onto the ship as we go to find the relic."

Rachel sighed softly, "But even with me saying all of that it does seem quite suspicious," she nodded to Jonathan, "however, I do agree that we do know that she might betray us, and that the crew does have need for more coin," she paused for a moment, "so I agree that we should take her up on her offer, I doubt anything she tries to pull will be more difficult than what we have faced in the past..."

"Very good," Jonathan agreed. "Miss Williams, go tell our guest that we will not be setting sail until our crew has been given proper compensation. Once everything is ready, order full sails. I'd figure the crew would rather see action than inaction." The captain smirks as only his arrogant pride can. "Let's see if this woman truly is leading us into a trap or not." Without another word, he goes back to the charts, studying and memorizing them as usual as if nothing had conspired within the chambers.

Rachel nodded to Jonathan, "Yes, I will at once," she said before exiting the room and finding Astrid just mere steps from the door. She walked over to the woman and began to repeat the message, "The Captain has agreed to find the relic for you, however, we will not set sail to the island until our crew has been given proper compensation," she paused for a moment, "once everything is ready, we will then set sail." Rachel nodded softly, then gave the woman time to speak.

Astrid smiled softly to the woman, "I understand," she said as she pulled out another pouch, jingling from the coins within. She opened the pouch and counted softly to herself, "Yes, I'm certain this will do," she said, handing the pouch to Rachel, "This contains more than enough doubloons to pay the crew three doubloons each," she paused once more, "when the relic is returned to me, I will give you the same amount, giving each crew member six doubloons.

"This should be proper compensation, correct?" she smiled once more, turning to leave the ship. "I will be awaiting your arrival with the relic."

((Note: The Doubloons from Astrid are shared just like battle spoils, 3 Doubloons to Ship's Boys, 4 Doubloons to Able Seamen, and 5 Doubloons to Officers and the Captain. However, the doubloons will not be awarded until after the event is completed, so only crew members who actively participate will be paid, and as Astrid had promised, upon completion of her task, the payment will be doubled.))

Rachel took the pouch from the woman and nodded, it seemed like enough compensation to her, they got about that much from battling against merchant ships. She smiled for a moment, then turned away and walked back into Jonathan's Cabin.

She walked up to Jonathan and placed the pouch onto his table, making sure not to put it on top of anything important. "This is what she has paid us, it should be enough to pay the lower ranked crew three doubloons each, the middle ranked crew about four doubloons each, and then the higher ranked crew, and yourself, about five doubloons each," she paused, "she then said she would double the payment when we deliver the relic."

The Englishman nodded and casually waved off the pouch. "See to it that the crew receives their share. Those who slack off of their duties gets nothing," he commented with a stern look, though not really directed at anyone in particular. "I will not have a ship of pirates who will not perform their tasks and expect to be paid the same as those who break their backs." His demeanor returns back to normal with a slight smile on his lips. "You may have my portion of the share. I have no need of material wealth for the time being, and I'd rather have content officers."

Rachel nodded before she picked the pouch back up and tied it to her belt, "I will give shares to all crew members who do their jobs while we find this relic," she turned around, then began to leave Jonathan's Cabin, "Oh, and thank you for your generosity, she then walked a little closer to the door before realizing another thing, "When will the order to sail be given?" she asked, "That odd woman is long since gone..."

"We sail immediately. I'd rather not wait around for something to happen when we have a job to do." remarks Jonathan, with a slight grin on his face. "Unless you wish to stay awhile and chat." Despite having a new found position of power, the Englishman still found himself flirting with others and desiring company of any sort. Even though Rachel was a flighty soul, he still found her attractive despite his previous run-ins with her. Even so, he kept reminding himself to put business over pleasure, as painful as that might be.

Rachel nodded, "Then I will relay the order to sail in the direction of the Island that the woman had told us that the relic was taken to," she continued on her way to exiting before turning her head to Jonathan, "As inviting as that sounds, I have duties to attend to, Captain," she then finally exited Jonathan's cabin, and walked out to the deck.

Making sure she was in plain sight on the deck, she began to call out to any ears that would hear, "prepare to set sail! We are heading to another island by command of the Captain!" she also made sure to call out the direction that the island was to their current location.
