*Mystina nodded* It's not against the law, but, it's also not a custom that our people choose.... most of our people feel it better to be 'free' than to be tied down... plus most of our people also do not stay in one place....and some are solitary...taking someone with them can be a problem.

*This doesn't seem right to Luana.* So, in two out of three worlds represented here, most people never get married. Huh. I don't know which world, or worlds, is or are really the weird one or ones now.
*thinks* Yeah, I think I said that correctly.
What about kids though? Isn't it kind of the same deal with them? If you have kids, you have to take them with you.

well, it's common for people to consider themselves bound by love, but marriage is just an institution, a representation. People only were married in ancient times for legal reasons right? Property, merging family relations, religios reasons... but we don't have that sort of thing. In my time, all that's needed is a bond between two people.

*Mystina nods* yes, but, that lies with the Mother.... She chooses to keep the child or not. She chooses to raise the child or not. That's how our society works.... if a man wishes to raise the children he can. He also has a choice but it is our obligation as women to choose.
If we fall in love with someone, then we may get married, but it's not very common... Most of the time they stay with each other longer, we don't truly need the laws, or the Gods, to bind us, for we are already all bound.

Then what happens when the mother changes her mind and doesn't want to raisw the child? What happens to the kids nobody wants? *she starts to turn away and walk to the bar, trying to cool the anger that's starting to boil* Do you have any laws at all to give those children a stable home?
*She turns around, leaning back against the bar* Or is it just... anything goes?

*Mystina smiles at Luana* We are not complete savages, Luana... We raise children as a community, as it is, everyone takes care of everyone in our world.
If a Woman takes and is foolish enough to decide she does not want her child after it is born, then we, as a community, take and place it in a new home. One where it will be cherished for the precious life it is. She would be seen as an outcast, in that case, for she has done much harm. We believe if you are not harming anyone, whatever you do is fine.
