Enki Leviathan
The Darth Vizzle
Null/void = psychostigmata.
Every time they null/void an attack, they suffer damage. The bigger the attack, the more damaging it is for them to null it. Then the character and player has to decide whether or not they really want to null an attack or not. And they can't get off scot free going "lol i null ur attak" which leaves characters heavily based on magic completely useless.
But nothing is stopping the magic user from just using magic over and over and over again. You'd have to have it cause a discharge to both persons energies or the magic user can just keep attacking until the dude using the null is dead without any real effort what-so-ever.
A magic user has to get fatigued from repeatedly using magic. So I would say there's plenty stopping them, unless they want to exhaust their energy early. Otherwise; doing it wrong.
And if they keep casting one-post spells, it's not going to do THAT much damage to the person. Nose-bleed. Split lips. Bruises. General "pain" not associated with any actual wound. A one post spell wouldn't cause that much damage, why should the resulting psychostigmata from nulling it do a ton?
Hence,
stronger spell =
more damage. Throwing out a spell it took you one post to do isn't going to hurt the person that much to null. If some character took like ten posts to charge an attack? Yeah, you're probably ******** either way you slice it.
See also: Selective nulling, like I inferred earlier. They can choose whether or not it's worth nulling, or just finding a way to avoid it. So if the person keeps casting magic, then you stop nulling it and just dodge or something.
Dee: Looks good, but the shoulder of the arm not holding the sword looks strangely extended from the body.
