I swear if I can ever get my s**t together enough to actually make another fighting character her/his sword will be made of pearls and encrusted with rubies sapphire's and emeralds and it will be utterly useless in a fight.

I dunno...hit someone with something that has that much sharp, tiny stones on it and it's bound to leave a mark. That's like a sword full of ring-hands.
That'll keep the kids from making noise in the back seat.

Yeah but it'd be a one time use deal as the sword would be very brittle and weak.

True...unless it was an actual steel sword with the extra crunchy bits.
But then it'd just have temporary ring-hand power until it was just a normal sword.
