Wow. Maybe that friend should move to RPG's? Or if that's not an option... Well in games, there's truly only one winner ^_^

*smacks ninjablu for ranting and for asking to be hit*

Your rant, as valid as it is for the style of writing still in my mind does not make the movie worth watching. Mainly for even though that whole hero angle works, it isn't nearly as well written as you claim it to be. Though the idea may be there, it isn't exicuted very well.

And no more ranting please. You will have your ideas of what makes a good movie, and I will have my ideas of what makes a good movie. So, yeah, don't take the time to bother with me on matters such as this.

*amiably pokes her back for hitting me.*

Alright, maybe.
But I think we can find common ground for good movies.

For instance:
Casablanca.
Or Gone With the Wind, though it was a better book than movie I'm sure.

@Rex:
Oh no it's all good. ... *whacks him with the twenty-third section of Encyclopedia Britannica as soon as he stops paying attention*
totally all good. *shrugs like 'what did you expect?'*
Can you send me the link to the site where you got that pirate thing. I'm sure that someday soon I'm going to get aggravated enough to create a counter list to everything it says.

I have never seen 'Casablanca', and 'Gone with the Wind' can go ******** itself and die. That movie is so awful it isn't even funny. I hated it so much! There were some parts that I liked, and every time I thought I was about to like it it did something stupid that made me hate it even more. Even my mother who is all for movies like that wished she had not spent seven million hours watching that piece of crap. Not going to lie though, it would make a killer action movie if you took out all she gos se (which I plan on doing one day, and may even write the script for it in my screenwriting class).

Actually, ninja, I made it myself...
There's enough ranting about ninjas and all the "cool" stuff they can do, so I put one together about pirates cool pirate
Wasn't Casablanca about a place that hid the Jews from the Nazi's? Like some secret hideout right under their noses and kept them safe? :shrugs: I know it had a reference from Men In Black...

Oh well, then I have one thing to say:
Pirates may get more sex, but they get the women in brothels and frankly, even if those girls are young.... they've been worked over a few times.
ninjas get female ninjas, who tend to be flexible, skilled, and as often as not nubile young virgins.
You can "win" the rest, but that one ninjas win. XD
Sorry, that one just REALLY irked me.

And no, Casablanca was about a guy owning a bar in French-owned Morocco during WW2 and his broken love-life, essentially.
But it's a great movie.
It's also the capital of Morocco.

@ Edme: you could do that, but it was a book before it was ever a movie. Since I follow the "movies should not totally screw the story of the book" view of things, I would have to judge your movie crap before it was ever started. I'll admit the movie was slow and tangential at points, but then if there are no tangents then there is no value to the movie. tangents are like fat. You want some but not too much. Then there's the new Indiana Jones, which is basically all fat because right after the Russians showed up the laws of physics were broken.
-shrugs-
And I would say that you and my drama teacher might not get along so well, but my drama teacher gets along with EVERYONE. XD it's funny.

You are getting out... Does that mean... Please don't tell me that you are prego.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 6:56 pm

@ Ed: Maybe the tire swing in the backyard isn't for her rofl
@ Doni: And yes, the war does suck. I'm not part of the military or truly involved in it, but I can say that the US is over there just to have a base of operations in the middle east and so that they can test some of the new military gear in the works over there.
@ Ninja: eek Be gentle with such insults... at least we don't behead our wives when they raise their voice stare

If I was prego I wouldn't be getting a tattoo silly. No. It's for post traumatic stress disorder and my shoulder still. They put me in a sling again by the way. Two weeks of only having my right arm.

o.0? What happened to your left shoulder, if I may ask?

Good to know you are not prego. I would have had to come down and deck you if you were.

True, but we don't quite suffer from STDs the way pirates do.
Or scurvy.
Or Leprosy.

I was sparring in a sitting area with a marine and I threw a front kick with my back leg (Big mistake unless it's a good combo) and he caught it and raised my leg above my head while he took a step forward. It made me fall backwards onto a very pointy corner of a bench. My knees didn't buckle because my muscles were constricted so it had the same effect as if I had slipped on a banana peel. If I had followed my basic rules of fighting that never would have happened to me. :smacks herself for being stupid: Guess I have just been out of it for too long.

D: Oww, that must have sucked... well, I guess it still does...
I like Bruce Lee's strategy on fighting: never fully extend your limbs.
Of course, that means two things; you have to be very close to them, and you have to be fast enough to keep attacks coming. I do that when I can't find a better way to attack. Ryan's (good sparring partner, because we're so closely matched) counter to this, however, is to just try and knock me down before I hurt him. My karate instructor told me one thing about kicks: "Kicks are just exaggerated steps." That in mind, I remember a couple matches against Ryan where I made every step look like I was gonna kick him, and it freaked him out. Every time he was expecting me to kick him, and only a quick jab instead, and then when he was expecting punches, I knocked him to the ground with a kick rofl He's no fun when he picks you up and tosses you... curse my relatively light weight... sweatdrop

But how long on the sling? They say you're ever going to get better? sad

Ouch. XD Reminds me of the time I was sparring with my friend and he tried to rush me. That landed him three swift kicks to the gut and pretty much put him down. But then after that I could never kick him again- he learned how to read them. Once he used that to put me on my back. He was going to try getting on top to make me yield but I hit him with both feet and he backed off.
And then there's my friend Dean who will take several hits and keep coming. He's crazy. And he kicks my a**.
