Silver Gryphon Fai_the_airheaded_genius confused Where did you put your cello on that plane? What''s Towns like? Glitchy? I put it in checked baggage. Towns? Glitchy? Oh yes. As I said, I and a lot of other people can't even get past the Barton Town hub into a town. So..since I've apparently missed the info on this stuff...what are you supposed to do, exactly?

It's a thing where your avatars can walk around and into each others' houses and chat. I and a lot of other testers are still having trouble so I can't tell you as much as I'd like.

Beta-testing? Sounds more like it should be Alpha-testing.

It's one of Sir John Tenniel's illustrations for Alice in Wonderland. "Alice soon came upon a Gryphon. If you do not know what a Gryphon is, look at the picture."

Silver Gryphon Fai_the_airheaded_genius confused Where did you put your cello on that plane? What''s Towns like? Glitchy? I put it in checked baggage. I must say, that's quite brave, even with a hard case and all. They are not nice to that baggage... I've seen some pretty nasty things happen to horns... Anyway -- I hope your cello is okay. The only cellist I know got a scholarship + room, board, and airfare to a summer institute, and he was showing me a picture of the way they strapped his cello to the seat. It was actually really funny, especially considering howmuch of a kick he got out of the fact that his cello actually got a seat. Anyway -- I better stop rambling, I do that a lot.

This is our Chatterbox. whee We should get a discounted ticket for my cello if we took it on the plane. It won't bother other passengers, it won't kick the seat in front of it, it won't pester the crew for drinks and snacks...

Actually, Edgar Meyer came to Denver a couple years ago to a chamber group that my mom's on the board for, and he told them that he got into an argument with the stewardess because they wouldn't give him the meal for his bass.

One of his songs is called "Never Try To Take A Bass on a Plane." My grandparents were on a cruise where he performed, and they brought back a DVD...he's pretty funny. On the subject of instruments and airplanes...

On the subject of instruments and airplanes...That's a good article -- I may have read it before, I know I've read one about taking horns on airplanes from that site, but I didn't recognize any of the content. I'll have to keep that in mind. I think that the best thing for me and my horn is to (when I finally get a new horn!) get a screwbell-- Those seem easier, and I have no idea what I would have to do with my current gig bag. On the subject of that first entry, someone one asked me what my case had in it, and I said, "French Horn." Immediately, they begin to move their arms like an accordion!

Wow. How ignorant. o_O When I say French Horn, people immediately think of cinnamon rolls.
