Dax watched the kitten drop to the floor with a light "thunk!"
"Ah...yes I suppose so." he said resisting the urge to shake his head at the student.
"Understandable." he said. "Large groups can be quite unsettling." he said looking around himself and resisting the urge for once to click the scales on the back of his hands. The ones on his right hand were looking a worse for wear at the moment and it was probably best if he let them alone for a few weeks.
"Are you looking forward to classes?" he asked trying to think of other safe conversation topics for a teacher and student. The last thing he wanted was someone going to Ava saying he'd said something inappropriate. No matter how innocent he intended the comment or question to be.
"Perhaps. But I seem to do alright with mine. Widow doesn't take much work at all, and the other three will follow me around outside for exercise. They all seem happy, anyway." She said, smiling. "I've even brought Dolomedes with me to practice. He hides in my hair." She ran a hand through her thick, frizzy hair for emphasis. Honestly her hair was a pain in the butt, most days, but it doubled as a litteral rat's nest now and again, so she guessed it wasn't that bad.
Madla leveled a look at Meris to show him how dumb he was being. "Yeah. The girl felt bad that the cute guy didn't get a shiny bottle, so she gave him a live fish. Makes total sense." She rolled her eyes before shaking her head in a negative. "Me? Autographs? Nah, I'm only the keyboardist. I'm mostly asked after gigs, not usually randomly in the school hallways. Pretty lucky, actually, since I can get stuff done without being bothered."
Sorren walked around, looking at others play the game. She was happy, but she would have been happier if she would have won more. Maybe she should go to another booth, try out another game. It could be just that the game that she was playing was rigged. She was sure that was it, maybe it was rigged to only let someone win their first try and then fail every other time that they tried. That was the only thing that made sense. With that thought in her head Sorren headed over to one of the other games giving out familiars as prizes.
“Well Anti isn’t too much work and half the time he just chills in my pocket or bad if I feel like I’m neglecting him too much. I’ll have to read up more on how to take care of this little guy” When Madla mentioned her hair, Meris’s hands twitched a bit before hiding them behind his back. It was well known even to the band that Meris had a thing about hair. It was a joke that if he hadn’t found Music he probably would have ended up as a hair stylist. “Don’t give me that look, I’m not allowed to acknowledge flirting. Adora will appear out of nowhere and pop out of the ceiling and then we’ll get kicked out of the party it will happen” Meris stated folding his arms. And then it was his turn to be giving Madla a look. “Ugh you are soo lucky. After a gig I ended up getting swarmed and then they have to ambush me when I’m running late for class. You can only use the Fan girl excuse soo many times”
It was then he spotted the tray with those weird prize balls again, luckily being carried by a different Nightmare. He grabbed one of the balls peeked inside and with a smile/smirk handed it over to Madla. “A thanks for the necklace”
Jezebeth watched from the tips of her toes as Cassie threw darts at the board. Sadly she didn't even come close to hitting one. She needed to work on her aim! Despite the fact that Cassie had referred to her candy as weird, she opened her back, pulling off the ribbon and offered her a piece since she didn't win.
"You can have one of mine! But I learned in class that you can only have one sweet a day! So you can only have one!" She nodded and waited for the other Fallen to take the offered candy.

Well, since he'd won two prizes in this bottle knocking game, why not try for three in a row? Laurel throw the balls mercilessly and bounced up and down when he managed to knock all the bottles down again. He could pick another plushie! He leaned over the counter and scrutinized between what was available, and eventually pointed to a green Vespercat plush in the middle.
"That one, please! Thank you!" He squealed, snuggling his new prize as it was handed to him. This festival was awesome! Maybe he should keep trying until he won all the plushies? Why not?
Enoukn wandered into the party. The Baphomet freshling looked around the... controlled chaos a bit nervously, but he needed to make friends after all. Still, he kept to the edges of things, trying to not draw too much attention to himself out of habit. He was quiet, the party was... loud.
Not that loud was bad, it was just not the same as him and that made things interesting.
He did however, wander over to one of the games to try his hands at it. It was one of those fish the prize out of the water with the comically small fishing rod games...
Suffice it to say, the freshling was not that great at fishing things out of water with comically small fishing rods. But still, he tried and it had been fun! He toddled over to the wall again to resume watching things.

Oh, well, he did have a point. Adora could definitely be scary when she put her mind to it. "Yeah, the familiars are pretty easy to take care of over all. Though I'm sure there's a couple untrained ones around that love to bite their owners faces." Madla laughed, glad all of her familiars were loving and easy.
"Gigs are a different kettle of fish. I get mobbed right after one. I don't know if I look different on stage or not, but no one seems to ask for my autograph during days were aren't playing." Madla shrugged, not really minding. On the one hand, no mobbing hotties. On the other, easy walks around campus. She'd seen Meris get swarmed one time and had left him to his fate. "You know, now I think about it, it might be because I can faze through a wall and get the people chasing me to bonk their faces into said wall.... The world my never know."
"Ah! The jelly I wanted! Thanks, Meris!" Madla gave the boy a quick hug before looking at her prize. Now all she needed was a glowing tank and a good, spider themed name for her new baby.
Quentin shyly looked into the room filled with other nightmares; there were so many. With slight curiosity, the goat boy slipped into the large room as he brought his arms close to his chest. He saw many others eating and playing games but... He wasn't quite brave enough to just pop in to join anyone. His mind spun as he stumbled around. Finally gathering his bearings, he grabbed some food first. He really wasn't a picky eater, he'd eat pretty much anything. He looked up to the others at the table, not confident in the least to even make conversation. Instead, he lowered his head more and slipped away with his food.

“Probably, unfortunately I’m sure there are those that just like the idea of having a familiar and don’t really put the research into it.” Meris mused, which was sad because after all it wasn’t far to the animal when they got neglected due to poor planning on the Nightmare’s side. He hid a smile though at the look Madla gave. Adora was definitely one of a kind, you never knew exactly what you were going to get with the demon.
“Gigs are even worse. Then again Ugh at least you get to faze through the wall. I tried that once and our manager had a field day on me. Apparently being the head singer means that I need to be sociable or something or at least while I’m glaring at them not let them damage their little pretty faces.” He sighed, but then again he was the one that wanted to be a singer of all things.
“Well I said I would get you one. I apparently can’t win trinkets tonight but familiars seem to be another story so far. At least we both got the one we wanted” He lightly pet Con as the fish floated up to nibble on his ear. “so what’s new in your life since last time we talked.”
Finding a reasonably out of the way place to it for a moment, Binhdi trailed the tips of her fingers into the jar holding her new aetherjelly, letting the little thing get used to her. Every once in a while, a small tentacle would reach up to brush against her skin. And since the thing wasn't shocking her, the tall imp had to assume that she hadn't annoyed her new pet just yet.
"You and me are gonna be good friends, right?" she cooed softly, holding the jar up to her face to better admire the play of colors across the skin of her jelly. "And we sort of match too! Fate, pure and simple, little buddy."

Arcadia smiled at the stall holders apologies, she shook her head and waved her hands to say dont worry.
Edit: Arcadia sat on the floor for a moment admiring the sparkles in her necklace and showing her beautiful black Koi her pretties, she felt sorry for him being stuck in a bag that seemed far too small for him! when a screaming freshling came and thrust a fish in a bowl at her "i don't want this one!" she screamed loudly, Arcadia looked stunned at her new pet.

Sorren sat down once she got to the booth and took the darts from the woman who was in charge. The object of the game was to pop balloons with the darts, and she was sure she could do it. Looking over at all of the familiars that she would get to pick from should she win she was surprised to see one she didn't have! This just made Sorren want to win more, so she concentrated at the task at hand. Although her first two darts didn't pop any of the balloons her third one did, earning her a win! She picked out the familiar she wanted and wondered if she should try to win again or not.
