Noteworthy didn't notice the amethyst or by the spirits he certainly woulda been itching to get at it. He was more interested in the music and the pae who seemed to be singing it on both the trip up to the next camp and at the camp itself. He was more then leery of the strange pae around him, but he did sign up for this so he was stuck with it. Someone offered him a glass of spirits at the next camp and thinking nothing of it he accepted, couldn't be much different then the one at the prior location and he liked it.

Note took a good swig of the drink and made a face. It was obviously a much stronger brew then the first, even the taste was more potent. He took a few more swigs and made a face with each. After half the glass he put it down, he definitely felt the alcohol and had a serious buzz. It was good he'd already made that night's leg of the hike. He glanced around not too quickly, that would make him dizzy, he noticed other pae trying the spirits, some passed out others seemed to be enjoying the drink. And yet others seemed to be after the little fairy with the beard, and he couldn't figure out why. Though there seemed to be a number of small fights breaking out over it.

Wild Moon couldn't help but laugh when Sweetie Bell was caught trying to get the gem sooner than he was. "Whoops. Well that was fun at least." he smiled, before his attention was distracted towards the fighting ring.

Why would a teen fight a fairy was a good question indeed. Perhaps they were just bored? Never the less, he went over with Sweeite to watch, cheering on the teen and frowning a bit when they lost. At least they didn't look... to terribly hurt? But then Nightwing stepped in next and his ears perked with curiosity. "Nightwing is going to fight?" he tilted his head back at Sweetie Bell. "Should be interesting." he laughed, remembering brief stories about the Night Guard that his mom had told him. "C'mon Nightwing, you can do it!" he grinned and cheered.

Nicky smiled, waving at the faun thing who had given her a nice try at the end of her battle. It was nice of the other pae to do that.

"Thanks!" She called, trying not to wince when she put her arm back down. He was a strong fairy, and it rather hurt her shoulder. Oh this trip wasn't going to be nearly as much fun if she was hurt. Maybe it would heal up before she went to bed?

"Oh, is that your friend going in to try?" She asked, curious looking at the pae that had taken her place in the arena.

He knew he shouldn't let it get to him. But it didn't fail that, even after the short hike to the higher camping point, that he was still smarting from being given a child's toy. Danori knew better than to make a point about it, or to complain, as that would hardly get him anywhere, and nowhere useful.

That did not mean he didn't quietly grumble to himself.

Oh, he grumbled.

Having spent quite a bit of time outside the Tree, having to pitch his own tent from the materials was not something Danori found to be particularly difficult. It took a bit of adjusting when an errantly knotted rope resulted in the center supports listing to one side, but a reparative hammering corrected that easily enough. The effort of setting up his tent and personal camping area also helped him work out some of the annoyance.

Smelling the food cooking also helped settle some of his irritation, as the idea of eating was incredibly attractive indeed. Once he was set up, he looked around, taking stock of who and what had arrived while he was busy setting up.

Food first.

An hour or so later, once he had wolfed down what he'd chosen, eh found himself once again looking around for something to occupy him. Danori saw where there were people drinking, but he hardly wanted to get himself drunk the night before their task was to conceivably start. Nor did he particularly want to join those who were trying to snag something from the Solamir that had led them here.

Sparring it was, then. Securing his things as well as he could, he got up and made his way to the arena. Perhaps he was still a bit crabby, but something in him looked forward to the opportunity to work out a bit of his frustration. Waiting his turn was not particularly entertaining, but soon enough he was facing down one of the Solamir fairies in combat.

For a bit, anyway.

He really had not intended that.

He was pretty sure the fairy had slipped, or something, or maybe caught the sun in his eyes. Or something.

Or something.

Or something.

Danori helped the Solamir fairy to his feet, murmuring the expected politenesses and affirming that the encounter had been a good one.

Well.

At least he wasn't a child...

That left him with time on his hands and not really anything for sure to do about it. So, instead, leaving his tent open, he laid on his back, arms crossed under his head, head poking out onto the blanket under the tent as he looked up into the trees and what sky he could see beyond them. Closing his eyes, he let the music drift over him as he began to daydream.

Sunny Jones paled when she saw the sight of the large boulder that the fairy was standing on. She backed away from it slowly she had enough bad times dealing with boulders that she did not want to end up on the wrong side of this one. She was to busy staring at the boulder that she had missed the entire speech so when she noticed that the others were starting on the tail she quietly fallowed them trying to keep as far from the boulder as possible. Going into her pack she pulled out her map and looked at it. This hike would not be hard at all. Well most things looked easy from the begining before something went wrong.

It was not long before she got to the site and noticed the events going on the drinking did not seem to be a good idea since she had a feeling the spirits probablly would be more flamable than drinkable. She decided to take on one of the Fairy's in the ring. Waiting her turn she got to the ring and pushed up her sleeves "I have learned that one should not judge another by size." she said calmly and got into a fighting pose.
And it was not long until she was easily defeated and on the ground. She started to laugh that had been fun. "Thank you," She got up unceromonously and walked away only to see a Faun have her lantern and ax taken away.

Sunny would have normialy not taken notice of something like that but for some reason she did. She walked over to the faun and introcuced her self. "Hi my name is Sunny Jones." She put out her hand It was then that it hit her why this faun had caught her attention. The hat. "Nice hat."

Finding himself unable to best you, nor you unable to best him, the Solamir fairy you are fighting with challenges you to a most great a noble tradition. He says that this is the tradition that the ancestors of his ancestors used to determine the great winner of battles!

An arm wrestle.

Immediately, the crowd around erupts into applause, and a few of the fairies get a table nearby for you to lean forward against and press your elbows down upon. An announcer gives a very thorough set of rules, declaring the boundaries of the ancient and noble tradition. Naturally, the other arm must be kept behind the back at all times. Leaning the body over the arm in an attempt to put more force into it or push them down was against the rules. However, leaning in overall is not. At no time may either challenger break their hold on the others hand, or it will be considered an immediate disqualification.

And, finally...

No wussies.

Though calling each other a wussy was, naturally, expected.

"LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!"

OOC
Roll 2d100. Once again, the first roll is you, and the second roll is the Solamir fairy. If you manage to get a higher roll than the Solamir Fairy, you have bested him once and for all! Your reward is a bottle of Solamir Celebratory Spirits and a well-crafted silver helm!

If you lose, on the other hand, the Solamir fairy expects something as a prize from you. You can pick anything on your person, but try not to offend!

If you tie again, the two of you shake hands and share a hardy bottle of Solamir Celebratory Spirits.

Yipes sat down, amazed at the fanfare that went into this. They were going to wrestle with their arms. An odd way to follow dancing but then again, this was faeries. Smiling at his opponet, he held out his hand.

And promptly got reprimanded for not doing it right. So he focused on the table and the faerie and attempted to do this correctly. Maybe this was te afterdance ritual. It sure seemed like it. Turning his attention back on the faerie before him, he smiled yet again. He was getting the hang of this.

"LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!"

Before Yipes even had time to blink, the other faerie had ruthlessly pinned his hand to the table. He stared at the other faerie with horror. What kind of insane violence was this!?!?

When everyone around them cheered for the other fellow, Yipes began to relax a little. They must still be doing the afterdance ritual. This faeries sure were a funny bunch...

When they began requesting that he give something valuable to the winner, he paniced. Had he known he was supposed to bring gifts, he would have brought something from home. However, he didn't. So he frantically looked around for an object that would be considered valuable to these people.

After a few seconds, he gave up. He had nothing. Walking over to his tent, he retrieved his rock/squirell friend. Ignoring the panicked squeaks of the cage as his friend tried to bite through the bars, he walked up and held it out.

"Here. My best friend, Sir Tom Wellington. He's a rock and doesn't like to be bothered but he shall give you immense joy for the rest of your d-d-daaaaaaaaaaaaaays!!!!!!" he explained, ending the sentence with a shrill wail of dispair.

When everyone dispersed to begin the mountain climb, she was no exception. But while most would be thinking of a warm bed and merriment her thoughts...were on other things. The gem she had seen the fairy flash. It was something Criofan would enjoy...perhaps it would make a good present. And it would give her something fun to do. With the males back turned towards her, she stalked up behind. Easy now...easy... She slowly reached around, trying to get below his field of vision...Until he suddenly jerked around, staring her directly in the eyes. Did she REALLY think that was going to work? "I...Uh...Thought your beard looked really soft and I wanted to touch it?" The female gave a yelp when she felt something on her back. "HEY!" They were...They were TAKING stuff from her! The multicolored female all but pouted as they carried away her lantern and pick. "That wasn't very nice..."

OOC: ANNNNDDD she failed horribly! Jeeze, twice the shop has tried to get rid of this gem and we all keep failing!

When his heart rate finally started to slow, he turned to leave the arena so another pae could try their luck. Starry? He had lost, but she still looked...well, proud. Maybe he had managed to prove he wasn't such a weakling after all to more than just the snide fairies. Still grinning, he walked over to her as he started to wipe the dirt off of his arms. "He's tougher than he looks for his size." The fight had unforeseen benefits despite his loss. It had released a good bit of tension, and with Starry's combined pride his steel blue eyes sparkled for the first time in months. Those eyes quickly shifted from her face though to the male by a table to the side, shrieking in despair. That...is one odd pae.

Cloud Chaser had a hard time stifling a giggle every time the head fairy caught somebody with their hand in his beard, and couldn't help but wonder what possessed these other Pae to keep trying. Or what possessed the first one to try stealing from their hosts at all for that matter. Seemed pretty rude to her. Did they even know if it even did anything? She certainly didn't.

But before long the fauny's attention had been diverted to the ring by the various matches that had taken place. These fairies were tough ones, there was no doubt about that. Most people couldn't match them, and those that could couldn't score a decisive victory. Still, she cheered enthusiastically for everyone involved.

She had pretty well settled in when a faun took to the ring with one of the fairies, she was definitely startled when she saw him so easily trounce his opponent. That Solamir had barely had a chance against him, and the fauny found herself rising to her hooves to cheer. Leave it to an ancient elemental to find a way to beat these fairies in combat.

Wait, why was he leaving so early? Didn't he know that people would want to congratulate him on his win? How silly.

Fluttering after him, he was surprisingly fast, she found her way to his tent. Was he asleep already? No his eyes were open. She sneaked up, crouching behind him before leaning over his face, "Hello!"

Firuzeh was out for the count, snoring lightly as Tizzy slid from her shoulders so she wouldn't get squished. Disappointed and a little embarrassed by her bonded, the shimmering snake coiled up on her stomach, watching the male Ruze had made friends with set up both of their tents. He seemed nice enough, Tizzy thought, if a little silly. How was a snake her size supposed to get a fully grown pae into a tent? She slithered her tongue out at him to indicate she'd heard an understood, but she didn't move from Ruze's stomach. It would serve her bonded right to sleep outside when she had a perfectly good tent to sleep in, thanks to Noir. It would be even better for the snake if it rained on her. Maybe then Ruze would learn not to drink strange spirits when she didn't know what they'd do to her.

Sweetie Belle blushed a little at Wild Moon and smiled. "It was kinda fun, even if we got caught," she giggled. She cheered Nightwing on with him, turning to the teen who had gone before him. "Um, you could say that, I guess?" she said. She wasn't quite sure how else to classify Nightwing....because telling someone she didn't know that he was guarding the runaway prince didn't really seem like the best idea. It wasn't that Nicky seemed untrustworthy at all, she just wanted to play it safe.

The fight seemed to last forever, she thought, but just when Nightwing was about to go at the fairy again the traditional tie breaker of an arm wrestling contest was called. "Arm wrestling?" she asked, a little skeptical. It seemed odd to the filly, but they weren't her traditions so she just shrugged. When the Guard lost, Sweetie Belle clapped for him anyway and gave him a "Nice try!" as she had with the other teen.

Noir sighed just looked at him and stuck her tongue out. He fidget before bending down and scoping Ruzeh up in his arms, he swayed a bit unsteadily as he stood back up. His face was red has he carried the unconscious pae to the tent he had set up for her. He had to move slowly and carefully as he wasn't used to carrying people and he didn't want Tizzy to fall off. Once in the tent he laid her back down and put her bag near the entrance along with the bottle of spirits. After exiting the tent he zipped it up before starting to work on setting up his own tent.

That... had been a bit of a beating in the ring; how on earth could she have lost to some tiny (but very manly indeed) fairy? Maybe it was the power of those spirits... Where on earth had they put them? Perhaps there was some in her bag.

Oh... Wait...

Where was her bag?

Pausing, she mentally smacked herself in the head, groaning. That was right, it was sitting on the ground in their meeting place. Their original meeting place, way down the mountain. Looking to the sky, she saw the sun was already starting to set and began to weigh on her odds. Was it really worth it to make this hike alone in the dark? What was in that bag even; she couldn't remember! Probably something important...

Sighing, she glanced around to see if anyone would protest to her leaving before making the decent back down the mountain. It wasn't so hard to reach the bottom; she merely glided down on her wings, letting the air and gravity take her. There was even enough light to find her pack abandoned among the foliage. Coming back it up, however, would be twice as difficult.

Hopefully she could find her way in the dark.

Summer turned and listened to the the fairy. Once he was done she almost ran up the tail the burning of the alcohol caused the normally calm Fairy to have a lot of energy. She got to the campsite quickly and looked around to see what she could do. More alcohol did not sound like a good idea but there was wrestling not thinking that much she went and took on the fairy and was brutly brought back to the reality that she was not powerful. She got up and rubbed her back.
"next time do not drink." she told her self giggling

Starry smiled, nudging him a bit. "You still did pretty damn well Dame." And he was grinning like a fool. He must have realized something out there. Or did she do something to make him smile? Either way, it was good to see that on his face again.

"Better than me even." She nodded, picking up her much lighter bag. It was missing her lantern and handaxe. Two of the heavier things that were in it. "We're down one handaxe and a lantern." She frowned a bit, embarassed she'd lost those two objects. On the bright side, she really didn't need the lantern, but the axe thing.. That would bother her.

Nicky grinned. "He looks like a cool friend." She offered, stretching out a bit. Yeah, she was really sore after that. The teen waited, watching the cool looking pae in the ring. He was doing good until they called out for arm wrestling.

Seriously? Arm wrestling? Her red eyes glanced over at the pae that had greeted her. At least Nicky wasn't the only one who wasn't sure about it.

"Good job!" She called, clapping along with the rest of the group. She was careful to keep her arm secure against her side, not wanting to hurt herself more. Sure, she didn't know him, but everyone had clapped for her. He'd done his best and that was more than good enough. The nymph waved, smiling wide when he came back.
