Arcan Lor

spacerSurprised to see Niall change from afar, Arcan shrugged off the fact that he can see that Niall is a werewolf. Then Arcan looked to Althea, "Well it seems two of us are outcasts. I wonder if the third is as well. It would make a great trio, nonetheless."

Then Arcan glanced at the driver. "Do as Niall says. Stay on the road and don't look back." Expecting the driver understood a second time, Arcan turned to Althea. "I'll keep my head on a swivel when it comes to spell casting and maybe after this, I can see if I can get you a spot in the College of Arcan Lor." Making promises was Arcan's optimistic way of saying, we'll get through this. Then Arcan turned to the back of the carriage. Closing his eyes, 'Do I have vampiric sight yet?' Arcan asked himself in a whisper, opening his eyes again, then he saw nothing. He looked at Althea with freight. "Undead and by the looks, vampire." Arcan assumed that Vampiric Sight only works on living creatures and not undead. This was proven when he can see Niall's werewolf form more clearly in the dark, just because his sight allows him to see the blood flow in Niall. Then Arcan quickly stopped talking as a bolt of lightning hit his hair. "Damn!" Arcan cast Sparks in the direction of the bolt, he knew he couldn't cast flames without hurting himself and vampiric drain would be useless. At least Sparks would drain the vampires' magicka. Awhile Arcan cast Sparks on vampire, "Althea, please ride reverse saddle, they're aiming from behind!" Arcan didn't mean to yell and that was evident in his tone.

Then as Arcan turned back to the three baddies, one of which was leaping towards him. What kind of vampires are these? The vampire got into the carriage by landing on Arcan and mounting him. Arcan pulled out his dagger and started stabbing the baddie. "Get off of me you fool!" The vampire would be in Althea's aim, if the vampire wasn't kneeling over Arcan and biting his neck. "Put an arrow through its head! Shoot it, shoot it dead. Owwww!"

>OOC: Vampires are approaching right?
Anyway, Damned, a name "Ryan" is in my character profile, it's not meant to have a name Ryan. It should be replaced with Arcan. The character is not named Ryan after all. Of all this time, I did not catch my typo.

Also I wanted to ask about vampiric powers such as Vampiric Sight, specifically. Is it fine by you guys that the ability can be used without a cooldown of one day, obviously Vampiric Seduction will be a one day use though. I have not thought about transformations though. I know in vanilla Skyrim, werewolves can transform once a day, but if Niall is working under the Underworld pretense of a werewolf, then it can be whenever he wants to transform, and I am okay with that, as long as if Arcan gets the Vampire Lord transformation to follow the same idea.

And no, Arcan is not going to get Vampire Lord from the Volkihar vampire biting him. Let's just say that the vampire biting Arcan is supposedly a lowly member of that clan not gifted with Vampire Lord transformation, but no one knows that, but we know (or Niall knows) that it is a Volkihar vampire.

Click the spoiler below for future meta-information.

^The above link is a post of mine with my character in action at Winterhold, fighing a dragon with a newly learned spell, Lightning Storm. Those of you that have Skyrim on Steam will know that I am using an armor mod. The armor Arcan is wearing in the pictures is Heavy Ebony Black Mage Armor. It comes from an armor mod set named Black Mage Armor, it is one of my favorite mage looks and it is ranked five stars on Steam. As the armor name suggests, it does require ebony smithing to make, but Arcan doesn't have ebony smithing, I was thinking that later in the RP we come across a metal smith who has the ebony smithing perk and Arcan just provides the ebony and cloth to the metal smith, along with the armor schematics found on a mage we defeat near Winterhold.

Althea blinked and shook her head a bit, trying to assess whether or not what she just saw was real or not. As the fluffy tail that had appeared behind what used to be Niall disappeared into to trees, Althea was struck stupid for a moment. A werewolf..? Althea would never have guessed. She had suspected Arcan of dark secrets, when she should have been aware of deception everywhere. Then again, a werewolf could had killed them both quickly. And it didn't. He didn't.. Althea reminded herself that the creature was still her companion, and a good one at that. If he had wanted them dead, they would be dead.
Althea came out of her reverie to hear Arcan shouting orders at the driver of their carriage. When he mentioned the 'College of Arcan Lor', Althea couldn't help but chuckle even in the company of danger.
That's when Althea saw they. Or, rather, felt them. The creatures pursuing them were much different than the mortal bounty hunters, they radiated an aura, that could be felt from meters away. It felt like a sickly, damp cold surrounding her. She had the urge to hiss, something to show her distaste for what was coming upon them.
Soon, it was upon them. One of the creatures was on Arcan, snarling and snapping at him, as if wanting a bite of his flesh. He was screaming at her to shoot, and she did. The arrow pierced its side, not doing much damage apparently, so she aimed again. Blood covered Arcan as the thing's throat was ripped open above him. He shoved it off, and got back up and continued to shoot electricity at the rest. Althea readied another arrow, and when she aimed at the nearest enemy, an enormous, white wolf tackled it and began tearing it apart. She watched for a second, realizing who it was, then aimed for another target.

{OOC: I edited the character post, and changed your typo, Emrys. And, I think everything you're suggesting sounds fantastic. This roleplay is going to have a long lifespan, I think!!}

Arcan Lor

spacerGetting up from his ordeal, Arcan noticed his black robes were soaked in blood, mostly his, and so was his neck. "Good shooting, Hotshot," Arcan said to Althea, but then noticed that the bite in his neck was more than a bite and whenever he had spoke, blood would gush from his neck and his voice sounded like a gargle.

I need to cover my wound for healing later. So Arcan decided to throw his hood over his head to hide his wound and his yellow glowing eyes. Then Arcan noticed a Ice Wolf attacking one of the attackers. Nicely done, Niall. Arcan then started to cast sparks at the remaining attacker.

I think I am going to need to find Heavy Robes soon. Arcan's growing comfort comes from seeing his companions fight in battle, as well as seeing them take risks for one another. Then Arcan decided to dual cast Healing to himself as he saw the ambush started to subside.

Future Character Race information if we end up in Morthal at any time in the RP and if Arcan gets wind of a cure, he might take that road given his character (I haven't decided yet on that though.) <

Niall continued keeping pace with the carriage. seeing that both Arcan and Althea were dealing with the remaining vampires until one was shoved off of the vehicle the thing tried to scramble to its feet only for its motion to attract Nialls attention leaping high he landed with an audible crunch on the struggling creature and began to rend it apart with his claws, batting it back and forth between his hands, four strikes was all it took to render the vampire unrecognizable.

looking up from his grim work Niall saw the last of the vampires fall full of arrows while the rest of his brothers mauled another. in the bushes off to the side. rising to his feet Niall watched as the carriage began to pick up speed and progress unmolested Letting out a howl of victory which was echoed by the other wolves Niall fell to all fours and began to follow once more though he took to the woods once more to keep out of sight. it would not do to spook the horses or the carriage driver. travel safe my friends, you run under the protection of the moon. as he and his pack continued through the woods he caught the sent of another oddity. grinding to a stop Niall looked around and breathed deeply through his nose trying to identify the scent. the other wolves joined in to his search as well. he could not quite place it but it was there...

OOC:
You assume correctly. I thought your note on ending it was placed well and so was mine. I believe the arrow impaled vamp is still on the carriage next to Arcan, since he decided to heal himself with a minor spell for the moment. I suppose using that vamp to investigate the ambushers' intentions would be a good idea, maybe a note left on it. It's up for Damned Philosophy decide on the next post.

Her bow creaked as Althea lowered her drawn arrow, watching the last few enemies retreat. She immediately put her weapons away and leaped off the carriage. Myrna had been neighing loudly and had back kicked a vampire or two, judging from the blood on her back hooves. The elf ran her hands down the mare's neck, and all along her body, checking for injuries. Her horse was fine, and had held her own, which made Althea feel pride and love for the animal. This creature had been her unwavering companion for a long while now, and she was determined to keep her safe.
Althea moved on to the bodies of the Vampires, and started searching their satchels. The first two had nothing of interest, but she came across one with a particularly large amount of arrows and burns on it's body. She found nothing but a single letter on it's body. It was scribbled hastily, from what she could see, and all she could make out of it were the words 'Volkihar' and 'Dawnguard'. Neither of these words had any meaning to her, so she pocketed the letter and heading back to the carriage where Arcan was searching the bodies, same as her. She approached the Altmer, held out her findings and asked:"I found this on what appeared to be the leader of this group. It is written in barely legible writing, and it is smudged with dirt and blood, but I was hoping you could make out more than I could." As Arcan studied the picture, Althea looked around for Niall, wondering why he hadn't rejoined their group yet. She had a strange feeling in her gut, and kept her head on the swivel, watching for a bushy tail and dog ears.

Drelfa had always been a light sleeper. Maybe it was the months on the road by herself that kept her reflexes up, but either way, Drelfa could pick out the sounds of a struggle from a mile away. Instinctively, Drelfa wanted to make a run for it, whatever the disturbance might be. However, an unnatural curiosity stopped her. She had never been a curious person, because nosing around in other people's business could get you killed. The sounds of the struggle didn't sound entirely human. She heard a high-pitched wailing, and sounds of animals fighting, along with the thwacking and whooshing of arrows being fired. A very diverse group was fighting in the distance.
Again, Drelfa didn't really know why she decided to head towards the sounds, but she did anyways. She made sure her things were tucked safely inside the cave, tucked her dagger in her robe, and headed out.
Just as she got close to the fight, it subsided. Drelfa reached the side of the road, where the fight had taken place, and immediately began to assess what was going on. There was a young Bosmer girl, who appeared to be a great archer, judging from the ratio of arrows protruding from the dead on the ground to the amount of arrows that had missed, which was zero. The only other person of interest that she could see was an Altmer man, who looked rather shady for an elf. Drelfa found small group intriguing, but just as her interest grew, the two noticed her, and Drelfa's assumption of the girl being a great archer were true. She was in cover and had an arrow ready in about three seconds. So, she turned to leave. She only got one step, however, before coming face to face with the largest white wolf she had ever seen.

{OOC: Hey, I was thinking of incorporating a little romance in the story, along with a bit of mystery. Drelfa an Niall first meet when Niall is still in the shape of a wolf, then meet later and begin to fall for one another, without Drelfa knowing that Niall is actually a werewolf until later?? I thought that would be an interesting twist. biggrin }

{OOC: Also, I edited this post.}

Arcan Lor

spacerArcan took the note from Althea and read the following names, Volkihar and Dawnguard. "That's weird.... The Dawnguard has been disbanded for several years, leaving the Vigils of Stendarr to fend for themselves against the atrocities (namely vampires, werewolves, and Dreadra) of Skyrim." Then Arcan placed the note in his satchel. "It's best we hold onto this for later. We may run into these Dawnguard wannabes." Then Arcan dragged the dead vampire on the carriage off. Then he turned back to Althea. "If you are wondering why my voice sounds a bit gargly. It's because a part of my neck was bitten off, but it should heal over time. That's also why I am wearing my hood."

spacerThen Arcan threw some Sparks in the sky to try and signal to Niall that he and Althea are alright. Then Arcan point to a woman in the road. "Althea, who's that?"

Niall continued to follow his nose to find another looking on at his friends not entirely sure that she was a threat but not entirely sure that she wasn't Niall glanced to his right and the wolves who stood by caught his gaze, the message was clear this ones mine" they backed away and faded in to the distance thank you Niall thought to his brethren as they ran in the moonlight.

quietly pawing out in to the clearing on all fours with his kinds characteristic loping gate. approaching her from behind he stopped to look up and over her head. he could see Arcan and Althea clearly and they did not look to be in any trouble. the girl here was clearly not a threat. he moved to step back but the bosmer, he guessed from her darker completion, turned around unexpectedly. coming nose to snout with him.

Panic tried to grab hold of Nialls heart. everyone knew that werewolves were evil and needed to be destroyed and aside from a select few, mostly those in Jorrvaskr, that was true. though he squashed the panic. with iron discipline she hadn't screamed yet so the carriage driver had not been alerted to his presence. that would make things... complicated. reaching up he covered her mouth with his... not bloody hand. dust to dust indeed he thought as he held her firmly so as to not be shaken off but gently enough to not cause harm. raising his other hand to his own mouth he made the universal gesture for "Sush" once he was sure that she wasn't going to scream he stepped back and examined her with a critical eye. for some reason she looked framilliar...

Panic flowed through her veins as the wolf regarded her, then placed his paw upon her mouth, wanting her to remain silent. Drelfa had expected the creature to begin ripping her apart immediately, but he didn't. Instead, he removed his hand and gestured for her to remain quiet. A Companion, and a member of the Circle, she thought. She kept her mouth shut and regarded the werewolf as he had done her. Most werewolves looked similar to each other, brown or black with dark eyes and a constant snarl on their face. This one, however, was pure white. His eyes were the color of the harvest moon, and they were softer, as if he could feel as a human could.
Drelfa glanced behind her to see confused looks on on the others' faces, probably because she had turned around to leave but had stopped abruptly. It was dark, and they most likely couldn't see the wolf in front of her.
Drelfa stepped further into the shadows, looked the Companion in it's eyes, and said, "You haven't killed the two on the road, nor I. You are clearly a person, so talk."
