August 2012 spinning challenge fiber. The theme this month is That's A Wrap! I chose to use this fiber because it reminded me of my wedding day, specifically my bridesmaids dresses (which were qipao dresses in red with gold embroidery) . I thought of this because a lot of our (my husband's and mine) problems were "wrapped up" once we got married. It solved a lot of things that had been huge deals before, so I figured that was enough of a link to justify this months entry.

It's not the softest, but that's okay, some hair conditioner will take care of that nicely, hehe.

I finished a scarf with some handspun, will try to remember to post pictures tomorrow. It also inspired me to finish some socks I have going. Will post pics of those when they're finished too. ^_^

So I have been busy, but haven't taken any pics. Will try to get to that today. In the meantime, I am crocheting a small bowl from some otherwise unusable handspun (it's super scratchy) to hopefully felt into something nice and actually usable, heh.

Emm-Kaye entervixen Updated with a pic of the soap I just finished. ^_^ Love the dragon mold! I'll bet it smells wonderful. Thanks! It turned out lovely, smells great, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the shea butter in it. *dreamy sigh* Next up is some goat's milk melt and pour soap base to experiment with...^_^ If you ever wanna get into trying out soap making, I got all the stuff (except the goat's milk base, though I should have gotten it from the same place due to cost) from http://www.brambleberry.com/. they are FANTASTIC. 3nodding

Finished four more mini-skeins. Two are drying, two are soaking. All are singles yarns. I've come to realize that I make so many singles yarns because I'm too damn lazy to ply sometimes, lol. Having said that, however, I do enjoy working with singles yarns, so it works out in the end. smile
Edit: Also at least one of those finished yarns had at least a little amount of lanolin in it I think, because suddenly my hands are super soft. whee

I love the red/maroon color ones, and the blues, and see at least one purple one!

I'd love to have an Alpaca ranch, and shear, process, dye, spin & weave my own things!!!
