Brugesh gro-Salek

((OOC: Just to clarify some things I edited, Brugesh wears Leather Armor and wields a war axe in one hand, long sword in the other.))

The troops were milling about, doing their own thing. Brugesh would occasionally spot a few of them going on over some minor quarrel of their own, but he didn't care so long as they were ready to fight. hell, the Orc encouraged it- in Orsinium, squabbles before a battle were a way of not only getting blood flowing but of venting frustrations and nerves before a big fight.

As the peak of the sun's light reached the crest of Fort Crowhaven, the wizened Orc general turned to face his troops. With one raised hand, he gave the order to assault the Fortress. Hopefully the group from Hammerfell was in position and already at their assigned task.

"NOW!" he roared, spittle flying from his mouth as he raised raised his steel high, charging the front entrance of the fortress with a mass of warriors at his heels. Slamming the heavy wooden gates with a barrage of fireballs and blows from his mighty weapons, his Orsimer rage began to take hold as he focused on one single objective- destroy anything in his way.

Ilumus couldn't help but smirk when he saw Eliya's anger towards Nathaniel's actions, "See... I'm not the only one" he spoke to her quietly, he waited as Nathaniel regrouped and almost instantly Eliya reacted, "I at least AM keeping a low profile, as for what Nathaniel did, it's common around brainless fighters" he made sure to speak quietly so that no one else would hear him speak.

Ilumus became more and more impatient waiting to kill and was actually thankful when Eliya decided to get things moving, Ilumus remained calm not even looking to Bale. He went to play with a ring he didn't have on, instinctively and didn't seem too pleased realizing he left it behind on purpose. He looked down at his ring-less hand, his left hand's thumb and index finger grabbing onto either side of the base of his right hand's ring finger where the skin was slightly brighter, from being under a ring for so long.

Ilumus's attention quickly jetted back up when Eliya told them to split up and left. He quickly made his move remaining hidden and a little while later he caught up to Eliya but he was in a tree instead of behind a bush, it was something he became good at doing while remaining hidden. He remained hidden in the tree waiting for something to happen.

Health: Perfect

Location: Gold Coast - Crowhaven

Mood: Partly Pompous

xxEmane sighed now feeling bored. Ever since Eliya was pulled away to do her dark duties everyone around her seemed to want to purposely get on Emane's bad side. They probably didn't mean to but many of these peoples faces really bothered her. She would just love to take out a dagger and carve some interesting images onto them. Calm down Emane, that's just your old self coming back to torment you. You've moved on from that. She had to tell herself. Sometimes things like that happened, mostly when she truly did not have any idea what to do with herself. Years ago Emane would do the most horrific things just to get some good cash. Her clients paid well so it was worth it, but after doing it so much she became disgusted with herself and tried to forget it all. It still comes back to haunt her every now and then.

xxLooking over she saw Bareok giving her a weird look. She flinched with irritation and went back to examining the poor souls around her. She wondered what Bareok was planning. He seemed t to the type who would plan evil plans just to get back at certain people or just to mess with them for the fun of it. He was a hard one to read when it didn't come to women. She noticed that people were now getting in position to attack the fort. "Finally something to do." She muttered to herself while forcing her body up and walking to the closest place into the fort. She liked being one of the first in the fight, made her feel more like a hero. When Brugesh gave the order she was among the first to leap over and run into the fort. Unsheathing her sword in an elegant manner she ran a few men in and repeated as the other fighter's guilds members joined her.

Eliya ~

When the other handful of Dark Brotherhood members joined Eliya and Ilumus, she gave the signal and moved ahead to open the old door. It was wooden and appeared to be more of a hatch then a door, leading down, and it was locked. Not really surprised, Eliya motioned for Ilumus to unlock it. She remembered he seemed proficient at lock-picking. Granted she could have just used a spell to unlock it herself, but foresight told her she was going to need her fully charged mana reserves.

When he was done, Eliya gave a nod of approval and entered first with Ilumus following, and the others behind him. The old entrance had led them into an old cellar. Perfect. The room was full of dust with only a single set of footprints leading upstairs. Crates and boxes were stacked carelessly and it was more then obvious this room was seldom used. Turning to her followers Eliya spoke quickly and quietly, thankful that the Fighter's Guild member 'Bale' apparently hadn't followed them. Time was of the essence. "You all know what to. No one must find out our true mission or who we really are. Now go!"

Eliya waited for everyone else to head upstairs before following.....

The signal was given, and Bale stood up, readying his bow and an arrow. He looked around for the group he was supposed to be with, but couldn't find them- they had apparently gone on ahead. He shook his head- one didn't march away when they were supposed to be working as a team. Granted, he HAD been assigned to them rather abruptly, but still.

He moved in the direction they were supposed to have gone, finding the doorway already open. Keeping his bow lowered, he stepped in, moving down the corridor. The fort was dim- a few lights were lit, but it left plenty of shadows where enemies could be hiding.

Ilumus had waited in the tree hidden from sight, watching the others get into position. He watched as Eliya gave the signal and moved forwards, he waited in the tree a little longer as look out but was told to unlock the door. Ilumus thought it was odd, 'She can use magic... unless she's holding back for the bigger fight' he dropped out of the tree tumbling to his feet and moved to the door.

Knowing that every second was valuable he wasted no time picking the lock, working carefully and quickly. When he heard the final click he quietly opened the door and saw Eliya's nod, 'You confuse me... I don't like that' he watched her walk in and bow at the ready he quietly followed in after her.

He looked around at everything it drove him nuts seeing everything as it was he looked around for Bale as Eliya spoke and noticed he going them a few seconds after Eliya had finished. He watched the others move up the stairs and looked to Bale then Eliya, not wanting to have Bale behind him.

Eliya ~

Eliya led the way for the assassins. There were seven of them in total, and Illumus took the tail. At the redheaded assassin's signal, they dispersed to do their job. All were trained, all knew what to do. The idea was to remain unseen by any of the former Crimson Scars until it was too late for them. The fact that they were hunting down heretics of Sithis, as well as former assassins left Eliya with mixed feelings. She would have no problem killing the targets in cold blood, she wouldn't even hesitate. However these were not dumb bandits they were sent to eliminate, no they were trained killers. Eliya hoped every one of the seven she'd brought would be able to return safely to the Sanctuary, but in the pit of her stomach she knew this would be an unlikely outcome. She was the leader on this mission and she would be responsible for any who didn't make it. Details didn't matter to her superiors, results did. In the back of her mind, Eliya knew that those who had sent her on this mission didn't care about the deaths of the assassins, they just cared that the job was successful.

As the assassins dispersed, Eliya motioned for Illumus to stay with her. It wasn't that she didn't trust him, but it would be good to keep an eye on him. The memory of their last mission together was still relatively fresh in the Altmer's mind, and she didn't want any mistakes this time around. Short of doing everything herself, her next bet was to monitor things. That meant keeping Illumus close. "We'll go after Torval and his right hand Ilsa. The other assassins should be able to take out anyone else. They have instructions to join us when they are finished." When she got confirmation from the dark young man she quickly began moving, climbing up more stairs to get to where the bandit leader was hiding. If all went well, her five other assassins would cut down any and all Crimson Scars not killed by the Fighter's Guild associates. Even now Eliya could distinctly here the sounds of battle from the main gates. The Fighter's Guild was doing a great job -- they'd drawn all attention to the front gates leaving only a skeleton crew behind to guard the Bandit leader and his second in command. Little did they know they were helping the Dark Brotherhood.....

Ilumus had a sickening feeling in his gut as he watched the other members of his family disperse, not caring if certain ones died, but worried if the others did. Before he had a chance to move on out, Eliya told him to stay close to her, 'Last mission was almost a fail and it was my fault. She must be making sure I'm not going to screw this one up.' The thought saddened Ilumus a little, he tightens his grip on his bow. Eliya tells him who their targets are and what the plan is, "Alright, and I know I've made mistakes in the past. I let my lust get the better of me, but these are trained assassins. One tiny mistake and we're done for. We came here with a plan, yes, but there's still so much we're missing." He looked around and thought carefully about all the possibilities.

He followed her up the stairs and whispers quietly into her ear, "If they are trained like us... to be assassins... wouldn't they see this sneak attack coming? Think about it, a bunch of loud men break down your front door, a perfect distraction for a quieter group to sneak in. I don't think it will be as easy as sneaking in, killing them then leaving." Once he was done speaking he quietly moved ahead, getting close to the ground as he peaks around a corner. Though he saw no one, he listened carefully for any sound of breathing or movement. He reaches for an arrow and takes aim at a target, 'Don't forget about your babysitter' he reminds himself and waits for Eliya's say so.

Eliya ~

It was as if Illumus knew the thoughts going through Eliya's mind, but no, that was impossible. Apparently the young man was more perceptive then the redheaded woman gave him credit for. At the same time however, his words and behavior in response to the decision showed a level of maturity and willingness. This pleased Eliya. They made their way cautiously up the stairs to the next level of the fort and paused. The mage assassin cast a life detect spell so she could see around the corner without risking her head. Sure enough, there was one sentry guarding the door to their destination. Just one guard. The diversion of the Fighter's Guild was working better then Eliya could have hoped for. Her life detection spell also showed four individuals inside the room. Likely their two targets and two additional sentries.

She paused as Illumus whispered into her ear. "If they are trained like us... to be assassins... wouldn't they see this sneak attack coming? Think about it, a bunch of loud men break down your front door, a perfect distraction for a quieter group to sneak in. I don't think it will be as easy as sneaking in, killing them then leaving."

Eliya whispered back. "One must keep in mind that these are former Crimson Scars, they will be arrogant and overconfident, THAT will be their downfall, and why they will not expect a surprise attack from within while their main forces are fighting the main gates." Illumus' concerns were valid and he brought up a good point, but according to Eliya's sources, the former assassins knew nothing of the secret entrance into the fort.

Illumus didn't seem to have much to say after that, and he moved forward quietly, glancing briefly around the corner. Eliya wasn't sure if he saw the sentry or not, it was possible the guard had walked off momentarily. She couldn't be sure without casting another life detect spell and she didn't want to waste her mana. Illumus readied his bow however and notched an arrow, so perhaps the sentry was still there. This was an important taken down, if done silently they would have the advantage of surprise, which they really needed. It was time to give Illumus a test. She motioned for him to take out the guard silently. Once the sentry was taken out, the two of them could open the door to the inner room and kill the four people within. Eliya held her breath as she waited.

Ilumus took her words into concideration, 'Her sources said they didn't know of the hidden entrance, but who would honestly be so stupid?' After he sets up and gets her ok he pauses. Thinking carefully of the posibilities, he waits for the sentry to look in the direction opposite to him. He quietly moves around the corner getting as close to the sentry as he can get, releasing the arrow before the the sentry turns around. Moving quickly and quietly, he catches the corpse before it hits the ground, doing his best to lift it up and carry it back to Eliya.

He carefully leaned the body up against the wall and takes some time to catch his breath. He then smirked and whispered to Eliya, "Couldn't have his body come crashing down, now could we? Now how are we going to do this... shall I attempt my acting skills and allow you to slip inside through invisibility?" He grabbed the sentry's helmet and placed it on his own head. He knew, even if they saw through his disguise, Eliya would still have enough time to slip in with invisibility. Unable to resist his urge, he checks the sentry for a ring or amulet of any kind.

Eliya ~

Eliya was surprised at the swiftness in which Illumus moved. Even as the arrow released from the quiver he was already lunging toward the sentry to catch him and lower him quietly to the ground. The secondary gesture had such finesse that it caught the female assassin off guard, though she quickly recovered before the young man could see anything evident on her face except a nod of approval. She decided he deserved a compliment. "I see you have learned much since our last mission." Eliya had no idea who had taken him under their wing since she'd seen him last. Could be Ocheeva or anyone else. Really it didn't matter. Results were what mattered. She nodded again at his suggestion. It was actually a rather clever idea, and akin to where the mission had originally started; with the assassins taking out the Hammerfell contingent and disguising as them to converge with the Fighter's Guild.

Illumus' last comment about her slipping into invisibility caused her to almost pause, it once again caught her off guard that someone knew part of her routine. Granted it was because she'd been on another mission with Illumus before, but she hadn't really expected for him to have such a good memory. Perhaps she was underestimating him. She made a careful mental note of this as she waited for him to don the guard's armor. When he was done, she nodded to indicate she was ready. If all went well he'd open the door and cause some sort of distraction, and while doing so, she'd hopefully be able to take out two of the four individuals. Eliya's form shimmered as she cast a spell of invisibility over herself and disappeared....

Ilumus had been too focused on the guard to notice Eliya's nod of approval. He wasted no time when it came to switching armors with the sentry and replied to her as he change, "I finaly decided to leave my comfort zone... studied my previous missions, both the failures and the successes." After some quick study of the sentry, he carried the corpse back to the door.

He had bashed the corpse up, using the sentry's weapon before he opened the door. Out of breath he used the fake accent of the sentry's race, "I don't know how... but a fighter guild member made his way over here... I could barely hold him off myself... I need both of you to help." After the two guards checked the corpse they positioned themselves in the hall ready for an attack. Ilumus hoped he bought eliya the time she needed to slip in. he had gotten into position, after he closed the door behind himself.

Eliya ~

Eliya slipped through the open door as Illumus called out for assistance. She didn't know how long his ploy would work, if it would, and had no intention of wasting time. The room was medium sized and held four targets. Eliya quickly identified which two were the bandit leaders and moved swiftly towards them. Unfortunately for her, the bandit leader who was also a former Crimson Scar, motioned for his to underlings to check out Ilumus' request, while he and Ilsa remained standing in the center of the room. They appeared to be in the middle of studying a map. Ilsa, a dark elf, had her full attention on the entrance to the room, while Torval had dismissed the intrusion and was studying the map intently. "I know its here somewhere. All the clues point it!" His fist slammed into the table with enough force that a tankard fell off and clanged as it hit the ground.

Even as Eliya had entered and quickly assessed the room, she was already planning and plotting, her invisible form one of fluidity and speed as she moved to take down the targets. A quick look around the room and she chose her first victim. Suddenly her form shimmered and became visible behind one of the thugs as as she brutally and efficiently cut his neck open with a single dagger. Blood gushed forth but because the Altmer was behind him she was able to make sure not a drop landed on her. Even as his body was crumpling to the ground Eliya spun to direct her attention at the two leaders, hoping Illumus would able to successfully take out the other thug.

The mage assassin's timing as she turned to face Torval and Ilsa was spot on. The dunmer woman had grabbed a crossbow from who knew where and was about to let an arrow fly at Eliya -- the redheaded elf barely had time to move out of the way, and even though she did, the arrow caught the edge of her right arm and tore her robe. There was a slight burn indicating the projectile had grazed her bicep, but it only added fuel to Eliya's determination. Eyes narrowed with hate, Eliya reached out with a telekinesis spell and ripped the crossbow from the other woman's hands. It clattered against the floor as it fell across the room, out of Ilsa's reach, but the devious woman had already pull out a longsword and was advancing on Eliya.

Once again Ilumus was imatiente as he had drawn his dagger the moment the door closed, turning his attention to the guard who had been moving down the hall to inspect a noice. Ilumus removed his boots before he stalked up behind the sentry, plunging his dagger into an opening between the sentry's helmet and breastplate. He then quickly stripped himself from his sentry disguise, once again looking as though he were from the Hammerfell Fighter's Guild. He had his bow at the ready as he stood back at the door.

Hearing a crossbow shot fire, he assumed the worst, 'Eliya's been spotted, quite possibly shot'. He knew Eliya was too good to get herself killed but that didn't stop him as he kicked open the door open. He shot the arrow into Ilsa's shoulder. This made Ilumus growl a little in displeasure as he had been aiming for a kill shot, thus ruinng his near perfect record this mission. He hopped he pulled Ilsa's attention off of Eliya as he quickly pulled another arrow, taking aim at Torval. He released his arrow, but to his displeasure Torval had dove out of the way.

Bareok Kayle
User Image

xxxxxxxxxxxxBareok felt the rage of battle overtake him, much like the feeling he heard some of those hulkish orcs from the guild describe when they went berserk. There was one major difference between him and the orcs, however. When they went berserk, all thought would leave them until one purpose remained; kill. When fell under battle rage, many thoughts remained. Unfortunately, all those thoughts were kill, maim, torture, terrify. When Orcs lost it, they growl and roar and foam at the mouth. When the Imperial let the tide of battle take him, he giggled with gleeful amusement, laughed with open-mouthed joy, chuckled in dark humor. And everyone he so much as grazed dropped in writhing pain. Such behavior was enough to give goosebumps to any seasoned killer. That was part of why Bareok didn't get hurt as often as he might - he wasn't really all that good with a sword. He just creeped everyone the f*%k out.

xxxxxxxxxxxxWhich was why he managed to break through the front lines of battle and leave his guildmates behind. This was just as well, considering his blade had a tendency to be rather impartial about whose blood it spilled when he really got into it. The heavily armored man drove forward through the fort and up some stairs he found. It was a good thing that such a run calmed him down a little and cleared his head, otherwise he would have slashed right through the gloomy one and the sexy redhead. There did seem to be enemies in front of them, though, and that was just fine by him. "Excuse me," he said in a tone of voice more suited to a crowded marketplace than a place of death. He didn't think to hope that the two 'friendlies' didn't mistake him as a baddy. Fearsome he must have looked, charging in with blood-and-grime-splattered armor with a happy chuckle on his lips and wild, loose locks of hair streaming unfettered by the green bit of string in his hear. He must have looked like a madman. Well, such an assumption would not be far off at all.

xxxxxxxxxxxxThe lady with a sword who must have been Ilsa looked like she was about to engage the sexy redhead, so he charged forward at the guy (who mast have been Torvel somethinghammer) who the gloomy one had just shot at with a crossbow but missed. That man was just getting up and preparing to attack. Had he been a mere bandit leader like he was supposed to have been, that Torvel dude would have died right there and then. But with a quick flash of frustration, Bareok realized that it might take some actual skill to bring this one down. The Nord brought up his hammer to parry Bareok's blow. The Imperial tried again, and again was parried. This was when Bareok began laughing, both with the exhilaration of battle and the incredulity of the situation. He... might have bitten off a little more than he could chew...
