Biohazard EXTREME But it's a reboot. You don't know the plot. That's why I'm so excited about it. Liu Kang doesn't win Mortal Kombat, someone else does. (Johnny Cage??), it's like the storyline as we know it, only all twisted up in an alternate take on the whole plot... I mean... If you don't care about the storyline... Why do you like the Mortal Kombat movie? How does that make sense?
Bio...why can't you except the fact that not everyone is going to care about storyline in the MK games as much as you? And man...I'm sorry if that comes off mean. I'm not trying to be mean sweatdrop Cuz Chase has already stated how he feels about and you keep trying to push him against it. If he doesn't care for it then he doesn't care for it? Cuz I'm pretty much the same way. Maybe a bit more than Chase is, but along the same lines.
But movies are a completely different thing, at least for me. I went to the movie to compare it to the game and see what they came up with. So in that regard I actually WANTED to know the story and compare it to the game. but compared to game movies they have today, MK 1 back then was gold. I'm not sure if it followed the stories in the game completely but to me overall it was a fantastic movie. I got to see my favorite game and characters on the big screen in live action! They even stuck to the costumes and that was just badass since game movies nowadays don't even bother with the original wardrobe except a select few.
If either Chase or I were sitting here saying to you that the stories suck etc etc there's no point to the story etc etc then I could see where you could step in and talk all about it. But neither of us have said its bad or anything because now its touched along the lines of arguing why people choose chocolate over vanilla. There's no right or wrong answer. I prefer RPG stories over fighting game stories because that's just how I simply prefer it. Nothing more nothing less.
[edit] I'll also add that the reason I probably don't pay a lot of attention to the story is because I'm not a huge fan of fighting games to begin with just how I'm not a huge fan of mmo's. The only mmo I've ever owned is the entire Guild Wars series. And the only fighting game series I've ever own for a good while at least, was the Mortal Kombat series. I don't really see myself buying the new reboot either, not because I think it'll be bad or anything, but because I just don't care to do the fighting games anymore. They're fun to play now and then but its not at the top of my game list to go spend money on, you know?

Cuz I'm pretty much the same way. Maybe a bit more than Chase is, but along the same lines. Yeah, but that's no reason to ignore the story mode completely. Especially if you're gonna guy the game. Which Chase said he's gonna do. So he buys the game, and then never even touches the story mode? Even though it's there with all its cinematic goodness. Why not? Like I said, it doesn't hold up. I simply don't play multiplayer games online. But at least if I get a game and it's got multiplayer mode in it, I will TRY it. Just to see what it's like. I'm not saying to care for it, I'm just saying to give it a try. And not just to unlock a playable character at the end. But to actually see if you enjoy it.

I prefer RPG stories over fighting game stories because that's just how I simply prefer it. Nothing more nothing less. But why does the genre matter? If it's a good interesting plot, with memorable characters and cool visuals, then why does it matter what the game genre is, as long as it's good?

Chase Me To The End Dude, I just won't. I'm going to leave it at that haha, cause I really can't explain it in any other way. And like you, I know when I'm not going to like or care for something beforehand.
Okay, but like I said, I knew I wouldn't like RE5, and I didn't buy it. You did say you were going to buy this game, right? So then, why not enjoy it for everything it has to offer? Either way, like I said, there's a very good chance you'll have to beat the story mode to unlock the boss character, and the cutscenes will be unskippable.
