"Um, DUH." Darktres said. She waved to him in her halfwave thing. "Hey."
"Its great to see you again, Shadow." I said, then gently readjusted my hair trying to look a little better.

"A pleasure to meet you all again." Shadow politely said to the three of them. Noticing Amy's exclamation, he says "What's the matter? You sound so surprised to see me."

I blushed, but it couldn't be seen through the makeup I had on.
"I just... Its been so long I thought you had decided you didn't like an of us." I said, trying to act normal.

I blushed even harder, and hoped that didn't show either. Does that mean he thought about me-- I mean us? I thought.

"Hmm.. that's a bit strange. Of all times, why here? Why now?" Shadow pondered on. "Don't you think it's a bit too coincidental that he came back to this time period?" He rested. " I could be overthinking this.. but what if the Emeralds weren't just 'acting up'?"

"Maybe they had a reason to send him back. Not 'acting up' but acting responsible." Darktres continued. "Like there is coming danger. And with Sonic dead, any danger he would face must now be faced by someone else."
"Are you suggesting that hes a replacement for Sonic?" I asked.

Shadow turns to Darktres. "If so, whatever 'danger' is ahead of us must be big, If I couldn't do it on my own. But again, let us not jump to conclusions. The emeralds work in mysterious ways."

I smiled.
"Maybe some Yaoi loving fanboy got control of the emeralds, or a Shadamy fan, or a Silvaze fan." I suggested jokingly, then realized I had menioned my favorite romance in there. Oops.

"Well, like you said we'll know soon." I said, then ducked as I heard a huge explosion. We had all ducked, and a tree nearby had fallen.
"Uh... Soon enough for ya, Shadow?" Darktres asked as we got up.
