Jon let out a slight laugh taking the child gently into his arms, "It seems that she has my knack for extortion already." He held the child so that here head was close to his heart watching all of her small features. Part of him was still afraid of holding the little one. What if he broke her or something? She was so small and he was so large. He shook his head slightly trying to rid himself of the thoughts. "I sometimes forget that your mother is a fighter." His attention shifted to his wife, "It's amazing how a woman so wonderful can pack such a punch sometimes. All the more reason to love." Once again he looked down at Dae wondering how she would react to the new people waited to meet the two. He had a feeling Kalina would be fine but if Dae got upset then her sister was bound to follow. It was amazing how the girls had already shown such different personalities. Maybe they were just more developed thanks to their mother, or maybe all children were like that. There was no true way of telling.

(LOL I’m assuming the twins were like my brother and me. We had our own personalities from day one. (Example: Taylor always wanted to be with the dogs, and I refused to fall asleep by myself in my crib (I was am a cuddler in my sleep)) Thus, why the twins are this way.)
Smiling as she willingly let Jon take Dae into his arms, she picked up Kalina so that she wouldn’t feel like her sister was getting special treatment. The little dark-haired baby as obviously much more content in her father’s arms, her sniffles already stopping, while the golden-haired one was just happy to be in one of her parents’ arms. Mori held Kalina in a way similar to how Jon held Dae, smiling when the baby laughed. She shook her head at Jon’s statement, smiling wryly, “Well, that’s something to look out for. We’ll have to be careful not to give into her ways all the time.” For some reason, Mori imagined that the captain had been indulged as a baby, and as good a friend as her employer was, the half-demon wasn’t sure she wanted her youngest daughter to be the same way.
Her smile changed to a much more affectionate one after Jon’s little aside to Dae. Adjusting her hold on Kalina so the baby was settling in the crook of her arm, she reached up and gently cupped Jon’s cheek, using a little pressure to indicate she wanted him to turn his head so she could give him a quick, soft kiss. “And they say flattery can’t get you out of trouble,” she mused with a slight laugh.
Puck smiled slightly, giving her a slight squeeze. She is. I’m not surprised. You two have similar personalities, at your core. There was a compliment there, if she wanted to look for it. Anlu bearing his child didn’t leave him with feelings of horror like it had with his previous liaisons, probably because he loved her, but the idea was terrifying in and of itself. He was a selfish creature, what could he say? He wanted her to himself for a while. Deciding to speak out loud, he pitched his voice so it could carry into the nursery without being too loud, “Is it alright for us to come in, Jon?”

(Poor Puck, he can indulge in his selfish behavior for... nine months..? XD)
Anlu smirked slightly. Replying to a comment that was probably meant for Jon only. "Yes, flattery has that sad manipulating effect... us poor gals simply can't resist it's lure..." Her eyes flashed up to Puck with her usual mischevious glint in them. She kept herself pressed to him, even after his squeeze lessened. His mental commen confused her a little though. The same at the core..? How so? Anlu has always pictured her and Mori to be quite different, which was probably why they were such good friends. As Puck voiced a question to Jon, anlu, too, looked over at the couple, the feeling of her being in a place she didn't belong was returning. Still, it owuld be nice to... at least hold one of the children. "We could give you two privacy, if you want?"

(Wow that sounds rather interesting and hilarious) Jon accepted his wifes small kiss now knowing that he was truly out of trouble. "I have to get out of trouble some how love, I wouldn't still be here without that skill." He was a thief not an idiot. Charisma was one of his finer skills thanks to those early years in the dessert. He at least meant it when he said such things to Mori. It was amazing how fast situations could change with the simplistic addition of some honeyed words.. Then he heard pucks voice catching him slightly off guard. It seemed that he had let the reason for getting the children slip his mind. "No need for privacy, come on in. The children are awake and moving." Well as much as they could. Hopefully this wouldn't be too much excitement for either of the girls.

Puck smiled slightly, tilting his head to look at the girl in his arms. You are both rather maternal, he said mentally, physically shrugging to dismiss it. It was one of a handful of traits the two girls shared, most of the others simple things that he doubted Anlu even noticed about herself. He snickered as he listened to Jon’s explanation, but agreeably adjusted his hold so his arm was draped over his girl’s shoulders as he led her into the nursery. He whistled softly in appreciation of the murals; Mori had outdone herself.
That whistle turned into another snicker when he saw a dark-haired baby curled up on Jon’s shoulder. Okay, so she was cute. The fact remained that seeing the battle-hardened mercenary cuddling a baby was hysterical, especially when Puck was picking up Jon’s worries over how little and delicate she was. “So, is this the shy one?” he asked, making sure to keep his voice down as she turned her attention warily towards him. Whether because she sensed that they shared blood, she thankfully didn’t begin wailing and instead just hid her face in her father’s shoulder. “Her mother’s personality, but a daddy’s girl. There’s irony for you…”Looking over to his aunt, he smiled as he saw the golden-haired babe she held. “And Robin and Hermia will be thrilled to no longer be the only blondes in the clan.”
Blushing slightly as Anlu offered to leave them alone, the conversation downstairs still fresh on her mind, Mori shook her head and rolled her eyes at the antics of her nephew as well as her husband’s comment. She was thrilled that Dae had just hidden in Jon’s hold, rather than start crying and upset her sister as well. Kalina was still in a pleasant mood, and probably the best to pass around, Mori noted as she adjusted the still-smiling baby in her arms. Smiling as her best friend (not going her husband) entered the room, she gestured with her head for Anlu to come forward. “Come along then, and meet them,” she encouraged. However, she quirked a brow at her nephew. “And who is Robin? I’ve met Hermia…” Oh, that felt like a lifetime ago…

Walking in with Puck, Anly tried to obsurve all the blurs in the room. Sadly, she could not truly appreciate the murals that Mori had painted. Maternal? I didn't think I had a single maternal bone in my body... Which would be believable considering the people who raised her. As Mori voiced the invitation to come close to the baby, Anlu came nearer, allowing Puck to keep his hold on her as she did. "Robin is Puck's nephew... he's quite the flirt. I have a hunch about who he got that from, however..." Her glance flickered to her man before going back to the blond blur in Mori's arms. Now that she was there, she really had no clue what to do... "The last time I was so close to a baby... I was checking for sicness and such." Was Mori wanting her to hold the child, or just look? Not that lookign would do much good.

Jon restrained a slight laugh as the child buried her head. "Yes she is shy. But at least she didn't start crying this time. When the captain came with Nemo I think the bandit made her a tad nervous. She seemed to like the captain." A daddies girl? Perhaps. Then again Jon hadn't thought about it much. It did seem that Dae kept reaching for his hold when he came into the room no matter if she was already being held tenderly in her mothers arms. Actually it seemed that puck was right now that he took time to think on it for a moment. How interesting? He listened to the recount of the new wandering Xerian in the Dawn lands. "Well I am certain that the Captain will appreciate yet another Xerian wandering around and distracting her striders. I think too much more and the entire clan will be banned from the lands." He was starting to question the ferocity of this clan considering that each one that he had met had turned out to be much more of a lover than a fighter.

Mori smiled at Anlu’s awkwardness. “Well, I’m sure Titania would have told us if they were ill. Why don’t you just hold her and get to know her a little?” she offered the baby for Anlu to take, Kalina already watching the stranger curiously. Her sister wasn’t upset, so Mori was willing to guess that Kalina would be plenty calm for Anlu. It also let Mori move to gracefully fall into the rocking chair set up in the corner. She wasn’t supposed to stand for long periods of time yet, according to the instructions from her sister-in-law. “As long as this one doesn’t stick along too long, I’m sure the captain won’t mind much,” she added in reply to her husband’s comment. She quirked a brow as she picked up on his doubts about her clans ferocity, wondering if this was the same man who was nervous about her much-elder half-brother or not.
Puck blissfully ignored Anlu’s hint that Robin picked up his flirting habits from him. He didn’t remember being nearly as bad as that when he was a budding adolescent, so she couldn’t be right about that. Looking down at the twin his uncle held while he heard Anlu be given charge of the other, he said with a grin, “So, this one inheritated Mori’s common sense, then?” He subtly jibed Jon’s taste in friends, due to his own dislike of the thief who sometimes got a little too close to his kitten. Snorting at the rest of Jon’s statement, Puck added, “And I would love to see her tell my father that she wants us out of her territory. He will probably tell her he wishes he could keep us home where we belong.” It was always a bad idea to have so many alpha males around, and sadly his family was full of them. So, they ended up spread out all over the place unless they were at war with someone, which was never a happy time.

Anlu took the child, carefully, into her arms. Mentally unsure of what to do, the girl unconciously started to rock her body back and forth as she cradled the little one. She didn't know why, but, doing so seemed so... natural. The feeling she got from it, however, was not natural at all. What was it that she felt when she looked into the child's eyes? Was this what happened to everyone who held a baby, or was it simply a female thing? It almost made her wish she had children of her own. Almost. She wans't ready for a child yet. not even near ready.
She leaned back on Puck, still rocking her body, as he jabbed at Jon about common sense. For some reason, she wanted to feel him against her while she held the baby. Why she wanted that, she didn't know. She was utterly confused with herself and simply acted on instinct right then. "This is your home now..." With her, or so she hoped he would think so. He had been with her for nearly three years... if he didn't find the Dawn lands to be home, especially with her around, after all they had been through together, she might have to worry.

Jon cocked an Eybrow towards Puck, "Say what you want butwhen you get down to the core of things Nemo is one of the best friends I could have. Not including Mori of course."Jon tried to bring to mind the image of the captain talking down to Oberron and it actually made him smile slightly. He could just see her floating just so she could look down at him with that hand on her hip shaking the other finger at him in shame. He moved over to Mori whispering in her ear, "I think someone is in love." His smirk returned to his lips when he finished watching the two.

Puck gave a snort to show exactly what he thought about Jon’s sentiments towards the thief, but was distracted from further commentary by Anlu’s soft comment. Quirking a brow as he raised his head to look at her, a smile tugged at his mouth at the sight of her holding his cousin like she was afraid of dropping her or doing something else wrong. Like he said before, there was something about Anlu that screamed “maternal,” and seeing her holding a babe confirmed it. He stubbornly refused to turn his thoughts towards the two of them having children. Instead, he said in almost joking manner, “Well, of course this is home for me, and obviously for Mori and these little dears. However, for Mother and Robin that isn’t the case. I suspect that Father is beginning to think of the Dawn Lands as a bit of an extended part of the territory, with so many of us choosing to live here rather than in the mountains.”
She couldn’t resist giving her husband a dry look, “I’m glad I was given an honorable mention in that comment. Nice save.” Honestly, sometimes she wondered if Jon thought before he opened his mouth, or if he just liked the taste of his own foot that much. Watching her nephew and her best friend interact, she saw that they were being much more overt than normal, which was the only reason that Mori could figure that Jon finally noticed the feelings between them. “Welcome to the world the rest of us have been living in, love,” she teased him for being so dense towards their feelings for each other. Then again, it had taken him a while to pick up on her own feelings back in the desert, so perhaps she shouldn’t be surprised.

Anlu raised an eyebrow at him and continued to rock the child in her arms. If the Captain figured out that that's what Puck's clan might think of her lands... well, she wouldn't take too kindly to that idea. If she was able to notice whether someone's gaze was on her or not, she would have asked Mori what she was thinking about, but... that was a lost cause. "Mori... how does it feel to be a mother? Is it really any different from what you felt before?" Anlu was curious, partially because it could be a future for her, and partially because if it was different then maybe she could understand her own mother? Being the o0ldest child of her family... she was the reason her mother became a mother, so what if the change is what made her mother so horrible... kinda like how it makes others... different? Some better, some sweeter, some more stressed. There was always soemthing? Or was it always there and just magnified?

"I try my best love." Jon responded to both of Mori's comments with one short answer as if he had done nothing wrong. It was interesting to see how the two couples foiled each other. Mori and Jon seemed much more aged sometimes than the other two in their silent and simple way of life, minus the whole brewing poison in the shed and psychic powers shattering dishes in fits of irritation issues. Then you had the comparison of Puck and Anlu who seemed so much more adventurous and youthful. Certainly there had been a point not too long ago when Jon and Mori had been that way, but it seemed now that they had settled down slightly over the past year or so. Maybe that was what marriage did to people. Helped them stop slow down and just enjoy those small moments in life together like the sound and warmth of a fresh fire or the act of sharing a pot of warm tea together. It seemed like just yesterday the two were racing across rooftops to see the sunset and now here they were with children in a quiet peaceful house.

(Just say it, Sage. Jon and Mori are boring now.
Giving her husband a glance that was entirely amused-by-familiarity, Mori blinked at the sudden question. It hadn’t quite crossed her mind if her personality had changed or not after the birth of the twins. However, as far as how she felt… “Well… It is definitely an awakening of emotions,” she answered slowly, “I had thought that my heart was full, between my friends here at the Striders, the members of the clan I care for, and of course Jon. But once I held each of them in my arms, I, well, I truly felt my heart grow to make room for them. The bond is so quick to form, it can take your breath away. But I will never regret it.” Her voice was quite firm at the end, and she gave her true family, her children and Jon looks of complete adoration and somewhat bafflement that she had them to love and that they returned her feelings.
Puck moved to hold his kitten in his arms, looking down at the other twin with affection before Anlu asked Mori a question. He listened to his aunt’s commentary about having children, wondering slightly what the girl in his arms was thinking but not prying (for a change). His attention, however, was quickly grabbed by his senses. They crawled over his skin like an army of ants, making him twitch slightly and shake his head. Someone—actually several someones—were at Anlu’s house across the river. Raising his head from where it was bent, his ears twitched as he wished his telepathy was stronger so he could tell exactly who was so close to those he held dear. A brief pulse told him that Robin, at least, was with them, so he relaxed slightly, but his entire body was now tense as he tried to figure out who his nephew could have run into so quickly.

Well, after hearing what Mori had to say on the matter, Anlu definately hopes that's what it'd be like for her, though... but still made her wonder what had gone wrong with her own mother. "Hmmm.... I see..." Well, not "see." Her eyes went back to Kalina, and she shifted her arms so that one was cradling the shild easily and the other was shaking fingers with the baby's hands. Her thoughts of her mother eased away as she felt her lover hold her. It was a sweet, relaxing moment... until Anlu sensed Puck tensing up. "What's wrong...?" Her tone was calm and soft, as she didn't want to disturb the children... and, well, she wans't too worried anyway. It's not like a strider coundly handle whatever had his hackles raised.
