((Ooh. That's good.)) Darkpaw scratched the ground uneasily. He knew what to say, but was unsure of how to say them and how to apoligize to Pebblestar. "I--I'm..."

"Don't bother finishing that sentence Darkpaw, this has been coming for a long time, and I thought I could make it up to you by taking you as my apprentice. Hope you can forgive me." She murmured.
Daypaw sat just outside the apprentice's den. These dreams, they weren't natural. She wanted to tell Pebblestar, but she had seen Darkpaw go in just a few moments before. Summoning up all her courage, Daypaw jumped up into the den and called a timid greeting.

(OOC: Sorry I haven't been on for awhile. I haven't been able to find the time to get online.)
Spiritwind went into the warriors den and fell asleep in her nice warm nest after she finished cleaning her fur of mud.

Darkpaw's ears twitched as he heard Pebblestar apologize to him. "B-but I was going to apologize for being so cruel to you earlier." He mewed. "But I was upset over my parents' deaths, and--" There was a timid voice from behind him, and he stopped talking. Spinning around, he saw young Daypaw. "Oh--hi." He mewed as he stepped aside.

"Oh, I didn't mean to interrupt. I just..." Daypaw froze and her voice wouldn't work anymore. She bowed her head, meowing a quick apology before darting out of the den. Her fur stood on end as she streaked over to the apprentice den and hid in her nest.
How stupid of her it was; she'd meant to tell Pebblestar about the dark forest of golden webs, but when she started to tell her, she couldn't say it anymore. Now she'd barged in when she was speaking to her apprentice and run away.
"I'd ask what that was about, but she fled." Pebblestar murmured. She looked over at her apprentice and nodded to him. "Let's leave this as settled, and you can go rest for today. You're a good apprentice Darkpaw, and I'm proud of you."

Darkpaw nodded his head eagerly as he turned around and disappeared from the den. He padded back into his warm nest and decided to sleep a little. His eyes closed, and memories came flooding back to him. "Darkpaw! Get out of here!" Stormpelt growled as he pushed Darkpaw away. "Dad!" It was too late, both of his parents were trampled by the rampaging badgers. "Why do I keep remembering this? Why do they keep making me relive this?" Darkpaw mewed as his eyes fluttered open. "I sure hope I can get some sleep soon..." He mewed as his eyes closed, once again. "Darkpaw." "Stormpelt?" "It's not just me, your mom's supposed to be here, too." "Supposed to be here? I am here." Fernflower mewed indignantly. "Why are you here?" Darkpaw mewed. "Because we have left unfinished business when we died. We had to come and explain it to you." Fernflower mewed as she nuzzled her son. "What was it?" Darkpaw mewed. "When we were killed by the badgers, it wasn't because Pebblestar sent us on a suicide hunting patrol, its because the Clan needed food, and we were the only warriors who were left who could feed the Clan. We went out, aware of the risks we were taking." Stormpelt mewed. "But I guess we forgot about how you would feel if you saw us die. We're sorry, Darkpaw." Fernflower mewed. "I-It's okay..." Darkpaw mewed as his eyes opened. Darkpaw looked around the den. There was no one there, luckily. He decided to look for Daypaw. "Hey...Daypaw?"

Daypaw poked her head out from underneath her bed of moss. She'd covered herself with it in order to stay hidden, "Yes?"

Darkpaw looked at the innocent apprentice. "Did you want to talk to Pebblestar? I'm done with her." He mewed. "Is something wrong? You seem nervous." He mewed.

"Ummm... No, not really. Just, you know, nervousness about being a new apprentice." Daypaw meowed.

Darkpaw narrowed his eyes at the new apprentice. "I don't believe that, but I won't press further." He mewed. "I'm going hunting. You want to come?"

"Er, sure!" Daypaw breathed. She was too relieved by the fact that Darkpaw wouldn't questiong her anymore, to care about the fact that he was suspicious of her.
"Are you going to help me learn how?" She asked. "I'm not very good."

Darkpaw shrugged. "I'm not your mentor, but I'll do what I can. Do you know the hunter's crouch?" He crouched down, doing almost a perfect crouch.

Stormflight yawned and rose up from her nest. She was hungry. She padded out of the warrior den and snagged a pika from the fresh-kill pile. She chose a spot near the warrior den and began munching on her choice.

"Yeah, mostly." Daypaw demonstrated her best hunter's crouch in front of Darkpaw.
Pebblestar sat alone in the forest. Her ears twitched when she heard something approaching. She turned around to see a gray, swirled tabby tom padding to her. He touched her ear with his nose affectionately, as if he knew her.
"Hello Pebblestar," he meowed.
"Do I know you?" She meowed.
"Well, perhaps not, but I am you kin Cloudheart of LightningClan." He answered.
"Hmm, maybe I do know you. Mother always talked of her uncle Cloudheart. She never knew him, but she heard stories from Emberstar." Pebblestar meowed. "Have I done wrong to be contacted by StarClan?"
"No, I came to help you. You seem troubled," Cloudheart told her. "You feel trapped by the responsibility, don't you?"
Pebblestar smiled a bit, "Yeah. You'd understand wouldn't you?"
"I would; Pebblestar, you're a great leader, but just because you're a leader doesn't mean you can't have fun every once in awhile." He meowed.
"How can I?" She asked. "If I, if I relax, who's to say someone won't get hurt?"
"Well, you've got an apprentice, haven't you? Instead of just teaching him, have fun with it a bit. Maybe he'll learn even more," Cloudheart urged. "Try it, I have to go. See you later Pebblestar."
Pebblestar sat up, after waking up from her dream.

"Okay, since you know that, you need to know the perfect time to strike." Darkpaw mewed. "For example, when a bird's about to take off or land, you have to have strong leaps and make sure you land on top of it. You have to make sure you judge the angle well, and that when you're on top of it, you n** the back of its neck and then jump off quickly. If not, you'll fall to the ground." He instructed. "Okay? Like this." He leapt at a bird nearby, doing exactly as he had described, bringing down the bird perfectly.
