Reaching in his other pocket he grabbed his hat from his old life and covered the little kitten up so she couldn't see what was about to happen, letting the wind in his chest out long and slow for a low pipelike music to put her to sleep and quell her curiousity.
"Black. Black Wolf Avery is my name. In your tongue at least. But since I'm all thats left, just call me Wolf. If I may ask, what are you? I can see you are different, and I can tell from your contrast that you of unusual color, but I cannot tell what. More confusing is that you resemble a dog, or coyote...but I've lived with them for many moons and none look like you."

"Color...." he mused as he continued with the skinning, working from the legs to the chest for the initial cut, "I never saw any difference between my dear Brother and I... only a slightly darker fur. But the people we lived peacefully with mentioned that word when they named the two of us... He was just as noble as I was, worth every bit the honor as me. People determine their worth, not skin or fur."

Seraph nodded "I see" the male watched with an obvious curiousity, he knew how to skin a fish, but not an animal, in this case fur
something dawned on him for a moment "We are accualy related, i a way" he began "most of us, fur's, are grouped, you and I are kanines, Aury here is a feline..the way i see it, we are cousins"

Aury was placed under a hat when the big wolf brought out the knife.
she knew what was happening so she layed still, she did not want to disturb the moment for the wolf that had kindly let her use his shoulder as a perch

Seraph reached over and took Aury into his arms, cuddling her into his arms, he took long breaths, at a nice even pace

Aury snuggled herself into Seraph and eventually fell asleep.
in the middle of her sleep she said her first word.
"papa" of course she was referring to Seraph.

His hunter's hearing being more finely tuned than even a normal canine's Wolf picked up on the tiny word, and the simultaneous joy and grief it brought him from remembering how that was his nephews first word to him, it was almost too much to bare. But he had to focus, there would be time later for grieving.
Finishing with the skinning process, he carried the body bipedal fashion so as not to let any of the meat or hide get soiled to the nearby stream and cleaned it all carefully. Laying the furside down he placed the clean meat in it to make a makeshift sack and brought it back to the fireside where the bones were drying out the last remnants of blood and tissue.
He rummaged for some good sized sticks and propped a rack over the fire to cook the meat, then without a single word lowered himself back to the ground and bolted off to the higest spot he could find. Letting the only thing in the universe who could understand his language know what he felt, the Moon-Goddess.

Seraph waited at the man cmapsite with Aury
he heard the word and smiled slightly, pettign her slowly "Papa." she sai dot himself and smiled "cute"

Aury heard the wolves cry to the moon-girl she had heard so much about in the mill.
Aury slowly crept up to the greiving wolf and sat next to him, listening to him bellow.
Aury Mewed with him.
"woof" She tried to say, but was unsuccesful.

Seraph wasnt exactly close, but he wasnt far enough not to hear, he chuckled at the little kitten of a tiger

In the middle of a mew Aury fell asleep, she was a kitten after all she slept often,
Aury snuggled under the wolfs tail, which acted like a blanket to her.

 Growing fond of the little kitten Wolf was touched that she was trying so hard, to no avail, the thought was all that mattered. So after his current baye he placed her next to him, sat her in the proper way to get her back straight, chest up and out, airway cleared, showed her the slow and careful inhale...hold for a second, how to raise your head high and straight like an arrow, and then let it out only through your mouth, not your nose. All the way from the recesses of your heart.

Aury followed his directions carefully.
She stood on her four paws arched her back and called to the moon-goddess through her mouth.
After she was done crying for her siblings her mother and for the revenge of the human that killed them she sat down and looked up at the stars once more
